Why in the version where he lets the girl live and she becomes the devil does he display the same level of disappointment as someone who just missed the opening hours for the post office.
Not only that, the script, dialog, was total crap. The disappointment of the guy when she incarnates lucifer is so weak. Like he just turns around and leaves.. "super epic"..
Right and the game was so bad they could of at least made a decent ending the one where she lives was so quick and didn't make sense the one where she dies just defeats the purpose of u going there
@@michaelplunkett1247 ah man, it's almost like there was a choice to be made with little to know information on which would be right, and the second ending properly chowed what making the wrong choice would entail.
What I realized from this game, all these efforts were for nothing, we will be left alone in the darkness and the darkness covers everywhere. In fact we have no choice because this is destiny.
The legendary showdown with Lucifer everyone. It’s too bad really. Because up until either abrupt ending this scene is absolutely incredible. The soundtrack, the setup, the implications; they just couldn’t stick the landing.
Remember, this is the same guy who fought a evil spirit who possessed a tree, the same guy who went on a one on one duel with a one-eyed pirate named Jack and murdered him with his nemesis's sword, and the same guy who killed the evil tree's son and the most dangerous old west criminals. I find it extremely funny how he walks so upset, back to Room 943, now i'm wondering one thing... How the hell would he escape the museum?! and second: Is Lucifer just gonna be stuck in that damned room with the old man, that's also pretty fucking funny, imagine these guys stuck there for eternity lmfao. The ending should've been this; Edward seals Lucifer back in hell using the Light Bringer powers (the higher your Spectral Vision, the higher your power is) while he's stuck inside Sarah's soul, but have a boss fight first, after sealing him away and her with it, having the old man say that would've carried far more weight: "How does it feel to be so alone?" "I'm used to it..." Then them both would escape the museum, and be rescued, Edward could've continued his paranormal investigator gig, and visited an old Grace Saunders. Maybe there could've been a sequel in prison since he's a criminal on the run in Europe, a horror game inside a prison could've been cool, the only game i know that did this was "The Suffering", they could've done a lot with the atmosphere and especially the soundtrack, maybe if he proved that the supernatural existed, maybe he could've been acquitted and freed of all charges, they could've done a lot with the story but Budget and Shitty Publisher strike again. The PS2 version looks like a beta of this, some elements were cool, like Theophile having an apprentice, Crowley and his company going after the stone being from a lineage of cultists that Edward stole the Philosopher's stone from, going to that little castle place with the apprentice, crowley chasing us on a car chase, the ambulance boss fight, sarah's more extensive backstory, if these elements were incorporated in a new version of this game along with the elements of Inferno and a few crucial gameplay changes, the ability to wear costumes (ie. beta Edward Carnby, cover Carnby, HD PS2 Face version, AITD1 Carnby, AITDANN Carnby, AITD2 Carnby, AITD3 Carnby, Lucifer Carnby, Tuxedo Carnby, Lucifer Tuxedo Carnby), a more complete ending for both endings (Bad showing the result of Lucifer being succesfully ressurected and causing hell upon earth, and Good showing how Edward stopped Lucifer from destroying the earth), Better Driving, Cheats, Being able to Kick (a beta feature that never got into all the versions, yet you can see the controls for it on the config tab on the newer versions of Alone In the Dark 2008), the filthy waters being less of a pain in the ass, etc... It could have been a great game, thinking of all that, just makes me a bit sad on the inside, this had a lot of potential, yet it was all thrown away, all because of Atari's horrible business practices, which wasn't the first time, remember DRIV3R's commercial failure? It was also a good game but could've been more, same old Atari, destroying everything it desperately rushes in hopes of getting money, ironically, they didn't get much money by doing that. Atari, sincerely, go f yourself! (Had to censor because youtube's becoming more of a dictatorship in terms of censoring by the day, literally 1984, you can't even swear anymore, goddamn it)
Even tho both endings have a bit of Anti-climatic ending, shooting Sarah and becoming possessed seems more of a bad ending. This was/is still a damn good game, fond memories playing this growing up even tho it scared the crap out of me.
alone in the dark, bad and bad ending. i had dope thge good ending was agreeing to let crowley come and let him be Lucifer reincarnation and then kill him.
Hmm? Either the girl is possessed by the snake or Carnby is, makes this so much of a difference? What do you think whether the world was saved in this game either way?
Did anyone notice the tears in Edward's eyes when he turned away from Sarah and looked up saying ' I am used to it.'? He reciprocated Sarah's feelings for him.
He did possess him before which is why he was immortal. Edward found the stone afterwards and the light bringer found him a more strong host for his resurrection.
The stupid thing about this ending, is that the choices are not really choices... you kill her I guess Lucifer becomes free? But let her live and Lucifer is trapped in her body? Which I assume because the endings are ridiculously unexplained and I wished something was said maybe an epilogue or a few added dialogue from ancient T-pose man... just something, it just doesn’t feel good to go through a glitch ridden game like this only to be blocked by a dumbass ending.
If it's the door hell.....then why open it and release Lucifer? I mean I get him possessing the woman will be his failure, but if he kills himself wont his spirit just enter Carnby? Oh for FFS. Just reboot this damn series.
I think the letting Sarah live ending, Hermès (the old guy) says that “the last free act of man was murder” implying that Edward here was supposed to be the conduit for satan instead of Sarah and Edward keeping his will implies that he can still stop satan. Although that’s my interpretation the game itself did a very poor job of giving context to any ending really
+Rocky Reuben I was about to look any way to download actually. But I decided o check for some reviews and one video lead me to another till I reach here. Dissapointed.
There is supposed to be a third ending where you HURT the girl making her drop the stone and the guy grabs it back falling off the edge. How to get it idk how.
LOL I played the game up until the shield around the tree and my saved had glitched, so I couldn't toss a molotov over the top to burn the tree down. I'm not going to bother finishing the game though (don't think I even can) and those endings are just insanely terrible. One of them he literally walks off like he can't be bothered anymore and the other he just gets possessed. The whole game doesn't even make sense aswell, if Lucifer's portal isn't opened by both stones, then how comes he's fucking shit up everywhere? He literally exists behind a portal that hasn't even been opened.... Anyways it was fun while it lasted, only wanted to see what the ending was all about since I won't be witnessing it myself.
i used to be so afraid of this game, one day i said fuck it. and after 3 days of nonstop gameplay i completed it. i was soo dissapointed by those ending. i loved the game, tho. really rough. but the vibe and the ost. oof.
@Jud502 how did Joel get what was coming? That’s a played out and tired excuse. Why let a little girl die for something that you don’t even know will cure the infection? He did the humane and right thing
@Jud502 Abby also killed the main protagonist randomly in the beginning. The pacing was horrible. This isn’t the wire, we’re not just killing off protagonists randomly lol
@Jud502 I would’ve felt great doing it, if the game built it up rivht, which they didn’t. It basically just kind of made my drive to kill Abby die down
Odesel.. . vic me nezajima. Horsi konec opravdu vymyslet nemohli. *_*
lol an Atari studio, no wonder this game was so atrocious. It had one or two impressive moments and good ideas, but was badly designed, awkward and didn't make great sense. But Alone in the dark the new nightmare on ps1 still wipes the floor with this.
EXPLANATION: paradox says lucifer will always live if It gets killed ! So the hero is just like Adam with the damn reencarnation choice of living; Plant what you want, but bear the fruit ! God knew Adam the fool would not have an wise answer, so He the almight set Adam by his basic heart condition in the moment of the choice. 1. He adam the fool chosen to love and save Eva, lucifer takes her but the wise old man will help him do build the love in his heart(the wise man doesn't cross the portal). 2. He Adam the fool chosen to kill, forget about the love and get the power by his own not letting lucifer have it, so the power came into him as he wished ! The old wise man assumes the role of being the master of benevolence and crosses the portal to the dark realm making the balance. So in any of the 2 choices the world will be similar... like 2 parallel path time lines; war between the realms in the line chosen by the fool. Balance will always prevails says God.
@@Last_Flying_Grayson i told you in way or another the hero will make the balance preset by the almight. perhaps you should get some nice explanation about yin yang
@@dylanthewolf1520 I say it's to ambitious had great ideas it just wasn't properly tweaked and because of this it's kinda a mess didnt help that the acting was bad
@@dylanthewolf1520 I thought the ending was fine. The twist being that the world was doomed to begin with once the game started. Tricked the player thinking they had a chance to save the world, but all you do is prolong the inevitable.
+Korewu Ash Kdyby jsi hrál předchozí 4 díly a pořádně v tomhle dílu dával pozor a četl všechny zprávy,tak ten konec pochopíš a zjistíš že odfláknutý rozhodně není ;)
