Oh, my goodness!!! I did not know all these changes occurred when I select "convert to outlines"!!! That explains so much about why I have had issues in the past and suspicions that my designs changed when I didn't do anything I thought. I have used that feature so many times to break apart items and resize and break apart or delete portions. This is first I have seen on this topic and I would like to know more. I had subscribed to your videos several years ago but for some reason wasn't receiving notifications so I have been going through binge watching everything I could find from the last couple years. You were the reason I kept hanging in with Floriani. So much has improved just in the last couple years. I love it but there are still so many gaps in my understanding. Thank you so much for filling in one of those for me today. C Keith

Just say NO! HAHA! Thanks for demonstrating why. Now I have a great place to send folks when they want to argue! I'm so glad to see you posting again! Your teaching style is tops!

Hoping this makes it into the mail bag.. So, you know the thread that's just going between where the needle moves from one shape to another? (Not a run stitch, just loose'ish' thread.) How does one make the machine simply cut the thread before moving to the next shape? This usually isn't a big deal, but I'm doing some pretty detailed stuff and it takes as long to cut all the excess thread going from tiny shape to tiny shape as it does to actually embroider the image. Plus, unless I cut it with surgical precision, I leave a little bit sticking out (too short to cut again) and it looks terrible.

It really depends on what machine it is. Some cut the jump threads when there's a trim command and some don't. If you go into the stitch tool, select everything, and set the property trim command, it will attempt to apply a trim command to the stitches where a trim would work. The other stitches are unaffected. Doesn't work on all brands though, and doesn't seem to be needed on baby lock or brother multineedles if saved in multineedle format

@@EllicottCitySewVac Thank you very much for that suggestion!! I will try it tomorrow for certain. I have a Brother PR1050x, which I think is the same thing as a Babylock. (One is a rebranded version of the other possibly.) This has been a continual pain in my butthole, lol. If this works, I'll reply and try to spread the word on all the forums I've been asking about it on and getting nothing. I'll link to your youtube page too so you get the credit for being the only person on the planet who knows how to solve this problem!
