thanks for this now I know why some affects were changing layers they shouldnt...they were stacked before being moved!!!

nice one! was thinking of how to translate this over to VDMX. think I figured it out. have your clip layers into a group, then on your group layer make custom FX chains like you've set up here. only thing I'm not sure is possible would be the blending mode of the FX layer and the transition mode. But thanks for sharing this technique!

In VDMX, a similar setup can also be achieved by using a Control Surface. What you can do is link the sliders of multiple effects to a single slider using a Control Surface. That way, you would be able to use the Control Surface fader to blend multiple effects. Then what you can do is save each preset which would essentially act as the "Effect Clip" that contains multiple effects. Adjust in/out points of each said effect to taste. This is definitely achievable in VDMX, minus the nice transition modes that Resolume has, but probably even more customizable. :) We can chat some more if you want to work through it.

Hi there. Great tutorial! Is it possible to take the HDMI output from a macbook running Serato Video, and have it run into the computer running Resolume (then being able to choose the serato video output as one of the possible outputs from Resolume, but also being able to layer other things over it and cut back and forth to the serato feed?)

It seems the Effects clip composition is no longer available. I assume since this is a really old video. But any chance you have an alternative? Would really like to recreate some of these effects that i could not figure out just from pausing the video ^^

Thanks for the great tutorial! Did the option to combine effect clips get taken away in arena 6? Shift + dragging isn't working for me. I read through the manual and googled around and havent been able to figure out how to combine effect clips

Hi, it looks like this feature is gone in Resolume 6. What you can do is right click on the text label of your clip and choose "Copy" then on the effect clip you would like to merge those effects to, right click again on the text label and select "Paste Effects." This should copy over all the effects from one clip to another. Cherers.

I have a problem, when I drop a effect directly to the video clip it affect it perfectly, but when I put the effect on a separate clip, as those you have in the video, it doesn't affect it the same or basically it doesn't and I have put the same parameters to the effects as the would have as being drop on the clip! :( help me please!!! :)
