We got a question about how the curvy/line video synth was made in the Resolume 7.14 release video. In this video we'll show you how to create your own vector-ish-video-synth.

Love your videos. This gives me allot to think about and digest. Besides the videos are there any books you might suggest or other kinds of documentation that you suggest to become even more familiar with wire and/or shaders? Thank you for all of these videos, they are very helpful.

Hey Jacob, For shader-coding; the Book of Shaders is always the obvious recommendation. If you are into some hardcore nerd stuff we'd recommend the YT channel from @acerola . Not Wire/Shader specific but "visual tech" in general. If you'd like me to do video's on specific topics just let me know and I'll try to help out. Wire has a built-in tutorial course and example section that can be accessed through the Welcome menu. Did you run through that already?

@@ResolumeVJSoftware hey thanks for the reply, yes I have watch almost all of the videos and looked through all the tutorials in wire multiple times. (Played with them torn them apart ETC.) My lack of knowledge on how the math nodes like sin and cosine could be used in wire eludes me ....UV MAPPING, OMG could you explain more about the UV mapping nodes? (UV Texture, UV map and UV offset) I feel like I am getting close to understanding how to use them. I am looking for a way to skew and move things into perspective but I have sort of hit a brick wall. YOU guys have an amazing product and I am alway looking for ways to improve my understanding on wire. Thank you.

Thank you for suggesting Acerola to me. Do you know any others like him? This information is exactly the kind of thing I look for......well that and more.

@@jacobmesick1481 not like him but more Wire/Vj related : Sean Bowes, CtrldChaos, STVinMotion, YOVOZOL, VJHO, Noodle Design. But the rabbit hole goes as deep as you like ;-) You could even go an watch some Unity Shader graph tutorials and apply those concepts to Wire.

Hi, Great video, I especially liked the end when you showed the various nodes to alter the image. Maybe you could do a video with that theme? Anyway, I had a problem when following (building) along with the video. I am using Wire version 7.20.1. At about 4:45 you brought in the "Gradient Palette" Node my version of Wire does not have this Node. I tried using the "Gradient" Node but it wouldn't connect to the "color" input of the "Texture Material" Node, only the texture which is going to be used by the "Grid" Node. I was able to do a workaround connecting a "color" Node to the color of the "Texture Material" Node, picking another color from the "Grid" Node then connecting to "texture". Thanks, Jim

Thank you very much. You mean the post-processing as a theme? What would you like to see/learn? I'd love to do another Q&A video based on your questions. The Gradient Palette node has been retired in 7.20.1 You can learn about this in our recent Color Type video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-I-tSsWcwHxo.html Long story short: Because we introduced the color type the Linear node can now do exactly the same as the Gradient Palette node. So we removed the Gradient Palette node as the Linear is a more flexible tool. Resolume Wire is still in full development so you might find older tutorials using outdated nodes. I hope this helps you out and let me know if you have any questions

@@ResolumeVJSoftware I was talking about the end of the video when you were done with 2d Mesh. You then used a camera, Bloom, Feedback Delay (which I have a hard time getting to work) and suggested some other effect node ideas/ I have a hard time getting things to work at the end (before output texture). I'm new with wire but getting better with the help of these videos. Oh yeah I'd like to see how you can get more (depth) between different elements with drop shadow or blur. Thank You, Jim

@@rubberbulletstudio4242 Sounds good to me Jim - I'll make a video for you this week exploring some post processing ideas. (eg. what part of the feedback delay causes you issues) - feel free to share them here and I'll pick them up for the video. I think I'll get around doing it on wednesday.

This is a simulated 3D effect, but is there support to load 3D models for example?

There is no 3D support yet. But we're working on that.
