Just purchased an Epson Pro EX9220 thinking it was a 16:9 aspect ratio, but come to find out its 16:10. For the life of me, I can’t find anything that explains whether I’ll be able to watch movies and stream without the images appearing stretched and/or compressed. I don’t mind black bars along the top or sides as long as proportions will look true to life. Can you guys help me wrap my head around that?
I have a optoma short throw projector that I want to use with a golf simulator screen. I have both 4:3 and 16:9 as options with the projector. What size screen should I get to fit the picture?
is there some type of projector that can switch their aspect ratio values? like go from 16:9 to 9:16 without having to rotate the projector itself 90deg?
@@divineangel606 I bought Epson TH-EW650 (Home Cinema 1060 as it's known in US) and it's 1080 so it's too late now but still, pretty happy with it so far. Regarding the monitors, you might like to see this video. Hello, thank you very much for your great and very informative videos! I have connected my LED projector to the laptop via HDMI and would like to display old games on the screen via Dosbox. However, these are in 4:3. I changed the resolution on the laptop and it is displayed correctly. If I now go to duplicate, an image also appears on the screen, but it is displayed distorted in 16:9. Is there a way to set the resolution of the HDMI output. I'm using win10. I couldn't find any adjustment options on the projector itself, it's a wimius K8.
This question might be elementary for others but for me its not but here it goes, My Projector is an LG PG60G and I always watch movies via HDMI with 1080 resolution with the setting on the projector ASPECT RATIO : FULL (not 16:9, 4:3 etc) the question is what is the aspect ratio of full? does it even have a ratio in the first place?

I'm not an expert but I think that's a setting on the device(s) that take the signal it is receiving and it stretches/skews it to fill the screen so you don't get the black bars at the top or sides of the monitor you are looking at. (example - if a recording was made in 4:3 aspect ratio {good for playback on a CRT TV as it fills the whole viewing area } but played back on a widescreen TV, Black bars would appear on the side (to keep the image "pure"). But if you set the aspect ratio to full, the TV takes the 4:3 ratio and streches it to fill the image to the edges of the (wide) TV to remove the Black bars, so if a square image was recorded in the 4:3 ratio and played back on a wide screen in FULL it would appear as a rectangle, a circle would appear oval, and people would look wider or "fat"
I have 4 questions 1. is it bad for the projector if power to suddenly shut off? we have some power outages that happen here sometimes. 2. what is the contrast ratio about? 3. do all multi-media HD projectors have the UHE HID systems and 4. how many hours would you say is best to run the unit so the quad-dichroic prism array doesn't skew the main screen colors.

What happens if I have a 4:3 projector & 4:3 screen and try to watch a 16:9 show? Can all 4:3 projectors handle 16:9 inputs or will they distort the image somehow?
+Gavin Simone I'm just guessing, but I think that the 4:3 will fit the screen well but the 16:9 will run off the sides of the screen. if you pull the unit back to fit the 16:9 aspect, it might make those unused areas at the top and bottom of the screen. Then again I could be wrong. I'm just beginning to understand UHE HID units and Poly-silicon 1080P and 1080i TFT active matrix tri-chip sequencing.
hi and having in the church with laptop and projector. when the connect the projector to my laptop on extend the projector reads it comes on and goes out again and am using windows 7 64 bit. even i tries pairing the same sizes of the screens on graphic card applications but still how can i fix that?

Right-click your desktop and select Screen Resolution. From the window that appears, click the Resolution box. The one recommended for your monitor (this is your monitor’s native resolution).

Hey I'm thinking of getting a projector at some point for my PC. Could I, in theory, run my desktop in 16:10, my newer games and movies in 16:9, and my older games and movies in 4:3, withouth actually noticing the black bars on each side of the image since you don't have a frame around like on a conventonal monitor/TV? Because on a 16:9 HDTV, the black bars for 4:3 content really irritate me, and I would love to surf the web and work in 16:10, but 16:9 is a must for today's entertainment.
hello! Im looking to buy a dlp projector 1024x768 but I am worried about the rainbow effect. the alternative is a 3LCD projector but my budget can only afford an 800x600 one. so.. resolution or type of technology? which should I go for? thank you
Depends. What are you planning on using the projector for? Home theater or business presentation? I'll assume home theater because of your concern regarding the rainbow effect. If so, higher resolution correlates with positive satisfaction. It's what you're going to want for playing movies and games. In regards to the rainbow effect on dlp projectors- From what I've learned recently, the rainbow effect is most apparent when using a slower color wheel for the dlp projector. As in, just a 3 color wheel (for red, green, blue). The rainbow effect is lessened drastically with faster spinning color wheels. A 6 wheel will have red, green, blue, red, green, blue and an 8 wheel will have red, green, blue, white, red, green, blue, white. Check to see what color wheel will come with the dlp projector, in you intend to purchase a dlp. Some practical advice- Take a test to see if you are even affected by the rainbow effect. Many people aren't. The dlp projector will perform better with colors and deeper blacks, depending on your model, but a rainbow effect can be annoying to the viewing experience.

Also in the video you said different numbers for Resalution like 1280*800. But you didn't mentioned anything like 800x600. and that Infocus IN112 is 800x600.
