Hopped on the train today to come into work. Pretty early at 5:15 AM. We departed the first station towards Boston and this was recommended to me. I clicked on it. I looked up and saw some woods, fields and a lake I was passing. With the morning fog over the fields, and the lake, and the dark blue of dawn to my west, this music fit in perfectly. Fucking. Perfectly. Thank you.

I didn't acutally speed up the tape deck. I suspect you came to this conclusion because you interpreted the counter to be a kind of timer measuing the seconds. I looked it up in the manual and it's just a counter that helps to find specific parts on a given tape. I think it roughly correlates to one of the revoluting reels inside the tape deck. If you look closely, you can see that the dB-meter is peaking almost perfectly when the beat hits. On the other hand, the numbers on the counter do not line up perfectly when the camera angle changes. I think that's because I filmed each angle on a seperate take, and in each of these takes, the relative position of the counter to the music on the tape sligthly changed, because the counter numbers are not anything being measured actively rather than just a rough orientation for the user.
