Forgot to point out that I do have the stock muffler still on the car with this setup and it still sounds like how you hear it in the video! This also allows you to keep the ability to open and close the exhaust valve that's inside the stock muffler depending on which mode you're in.

I actually ended up installing a catless downpipe in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_eYhCAPDNjc.html To me it is slightly louder and there is a bit more drone.

Any drone? Does it sound metallic in person? I was debating whether to do this or a muffler delete.

Metallic? and there is no drone at all. Muffler delete would pretty much sound the same. maybe a little louder.

Yes it pops a lot. And you can make it pop even more in the settings I showed in bootmod3, if you’re using that program to tune.

does the sound rly differ that much with a lega catted downpipe? because i have the Milltek Catback exhaust installed and K&N Sports Filter yet the sound although very deep is very quiet and barely loud at all. like i have to reach RPMs of 4000 plus to be able to hear the car. oh and the pops are also BARELY there like BAAAARELY. ( Stage 1 Bootmod3 93) OTS settings... what do you guys think? is it the downpipe blocking it all? (The car has 220.000Km although its a 2015 BMW 328i N20 Engine.)

Amazing car . I want to get the down pipe but worried about the emissions smog test. Any advice on where to get a pass ? Am in California so looking for a smog shop I can trust 😉 if you know what I mean. Thanks

the best thing to do would be to switch back to your stock downpipe when it comes time to smog. Or you'll have to pay a technician extra to pass you .

Why would they check your downpipe? It’s just a metal tube. No way to tell if stock or not

Yes the charge pipe and intercooler are both upgraded with CTS Turbo when I filmed this

Will a catted Downpipe + resonator delete without a tune still give this same sound? I have a f30 335 and I saw the Active auto week and fab speed catted down pipes do not throw codes

It won't have the same exact sound since it won't have the turbo spool noises/whistle that the tune gives you. It will just be all exhaust which i think would still sound good.

Without a tune, yes. With a tune it went away.

Either know a smog tech personally, or pay one extra to pass you. Or you can put the stock cat back in when it comes time to smog.

Any gas smell? I have a m235 with catless dp right now and the gas smell is horrible, thinking about switching to this dp

Yeah there still is some exhaust smell when in an enclosed area like a garage but most of the time I don’t smell it.

@@Overtaking Dang really, thats why I didn't go cattless tbh. I thought there would no smell at all with the high flow but there is still some. It's rare when I smell it at a stop light tho. At least with this CTS Turbo Downpipe. Not sure about other brands.
