U are the man I've got a trx 300 1988 it's worse than yours it's red and ive tryed every thing and the Razor blade scraping the top off work like a champ. Thank you. You're the only one that i've seen doing this, and at one million percent works, I wasn't thinking it wasn't gonna work it did for anybody that's guessing it works !!! And my plastic is bad bad and it looks new red comes back so crazy !! I'm going to wet sand and buff at the end but I have tryed a spot on all 4 corners and buffed looks so good!!
Do not do this people. Heat is not necessary and you risk permanent damage to the plastic. Use a buffer and a nice plastic compound and you will get a better result.
Lol it's not going to hurt it if you just take your time and don't burn it, it doesn't "damage" plastic, it's actually pretty good for it, plastic is made by heating it.
I tried that method it was awful makes the bike all greasy and smells bad and within a month its faded worst than before… so ima give the torch method a try than slap some uv protection clear coat over top of it
I 'm doing a bare frane restore on my 1986 moto 4 225. My plastics are not broken but they look like that .my frame racks front bumper and rear bumper are blasted and painted the rear bumper has been powered coated chrome l will try some of these trix but probably finish with the buffer
I use race glaze polish and a good quality orbital buffer...shines like new and the shine doesnt fade. None of the wipe on stuff lasts...in a day it looks like it did before you did it.
This works really well and it’s not hard to do but it will be back to faded white in very short order. It would be nice if there was something put on there to protect it. Are you aware of anything?
@@HillendaleBros That’s odd. I’ve done three of them and all three of them faded back pretty quickly. They do get ridden a lot so they see a lot of sun.
