Ron Barth, President of Resource Furniture (www.resourcefurniture.com/space-savers), demonstrates and explains their amazing line of Italian-designed space-savers.
"The design process... involves a furniture designer, mechanical engineer, and a hardware company." Love it when great minds come together to reach a common goal.
Wow I love these designs! I'm doing a home add on/handicapped ready for disabled house guest. I love the combo space saving sofa's and beds. Cool very ingenious designs. Especially like the beds which are completely off the floor and into the wall.
Wow - this is terrific! Love how you can leave the pencils on the table. I look forward to when the market is large enough for price drops. Great designs.
I am very impressed by these space saving furniture ideas. All of my furniture is so huge after moving from a 4 bedroom house with a formal dining room, larger eat in kitchen, family room , living room, 2 bathroom house with an attic and full basement. In addition a front porch , and backyard. I've had to give away some furniture to down size to apartment living I realize my furnishings are still too large and bulky and considering down sizing even more despite loving my furnishings. These new furniture are so amazing, clutter free and transitional. They're fantastic.
I feel like this is a great idea for college students. Especially dorm rooms on campus. Small space made bigger like this would help with keeping organized. It's hard to stay organized when you are studying courses so often you don't have time to make a system. Dorm rooms are small spaces expanding like this would definitely be helpful.
This furniture is really inspiring for people like me who like to make things more functional, now I am thinking what can i do to make everything more functional in my house and workplace. I suppose I can't get your products in my country but I sure will try to use some of these ideas...
This book shelf? Its a bed! That desk? Its a bed! The coffee table? A bed! That bed? There is another bed under the bed, and under that bed is your por stach!
abdou sam Look back into some of the architectural, or handyman mags of DECADES ago. Even THEN this KIND of design was being thought of, but no one wanted to pursue it as THAT kind of thing didn’t say “I have arrived!” fiscally speaking.
Well done Ron Barth, I love the idea of this furniture, I always thought of having this kind of furniture in my apartment. Good luck with your project and I wish you all the best.
This is really more than awesome. All those products looked flexible n easy to use. I'm amazed how come technology go to this level . Great thinking anna use those in Ireland;qj1
While really neat designs that I would absolutely love to have, you can afford large apartments where you don't need them long before you can afford the furniture.
Great of you to bring this to North America! Here in Atlantic Canada, we are a wood producing Province and I would see this type of furniture made with wood, less expensive, and suited to multi unit hostice buildings for sick, elderly and/or 'down and out persons'. It would also be a great retro-fit for our aging Universities, in these tough economic times. Many thanks for your taking on this great idea.
Love the concept but your not showing any of these beds with actual bedding on them. Where are the duvets?, the pillows? Will the still fold flat as easy with that extra load and bulk?
Common sense always turns out to be, to some extent, a buzz kill, doesn't it? It's not there because it's NOT THAT SIMPLE! It's cool, it's terrific for "once in awhile", but for every day? Ha! What's funny to me is that it all screams '60's in terms of colors! Also, it's all plastic over fake wood, which is why it HAS to have all that "mechanized" assistance, because that stuff WEIGHTS A FREAKING TON compared to wood! Just think before spending...
Yes, and this furniture SHOUTS AT YOU! It says, 'I'M MODERN! I'M HIGH QUALITY! BUY ME' - and you stand in front of it and you suddenly recognise, that it's much nicer than grandmothers old stuff you still keep and you GET ANGRY, because you can't afford it and you leave a COMMENT ON RU-vid to tell everyone, that you have a lousy taste and just want to live in the 19th century...
Nailed it. This stuff is incredibly well designed. Way too expensive for me to buy (Now. Prices will go down as they become more popular), but that's no reason to pretend having a huge piece of furniture that you only really need when you're unconscious take up so much space all day is a better way to go.
I'm kinda sad I didn't hear about this a year ago. I moved into an apartment then, where I currently am, and had to get a couch that could double as a bed. The prices were incredibly high, and the beds weren't comfortable at all, but I bought one anyway. When I move into my own place, I hope I remember you guys and your product, and I hope you're still around. You are amazing!!
The design is great however after having used the furniture it becomes rather tiresome to have to remake the bed everytime you store it.. the sheets/blankets/pillows slide all over.. but otherwise they are great.
Forget police officers, imagine friends. "But where do you sleep?" "Did you redecorate since I was here last?" "What the hell, that was NOT there when I went to the bathroom, WHERE DID THAT COME FROM?"
dont buy from italy , they will drain you, show this video to your local carpenter and they will make any of it for you easily , trust me .. I work for a furniture company and now our local carpenters are producing furniture's we could have spent thousands of euros to import
I love this video, give new idea how organize small place better, some people think and create like you guys.the comfort in small apt is very important.
HKYT649 The Italians are absolute pioneers and geniuses at this- i have a lot of 'transformer' type furniture from them and although i've been to China, i haven't really seen this level of expertise in this area.
Yes, suddenly you can put your kids in the apartment you can afford, however you can't afford to buy those amazing furniture because they are very expensive.
I am sure this is something which china cannot replicate because those smooth flow hinges are top quality and quality is a word which you can't find in chinese dictionary
The quality is defined by the American company who contracted the Chinese manufacturer, so the American company can undercut American companies that hire Americans. Stop blaming Chinese workers.
What? you clearly don't know how business works. Quality products can and are being made in China. In any case how do you know that its not being made in China? or Any other Asian Country? It is possible that parts are made in China and assembled in italy. After they put together all the parts, they can put a sticker on it that says 'Made in Italy or France or whatever' That's how 95% mainstream luxury brands do it. bottom line is, its made in some other country. Why? because its cost effective. Not cheap labor, but because of cheap management. Everyone goes where cheap management is!
Oooh, I lve the bunk beds. Perfect for when my nieces nd nephews come to visit. Given the price per suare foot of housing in San Francisco; we need all the help we can get making the most of our space!
2:38 The table that folds in half length wise with the V legs... that's beautiful Design. Design with a capital D. It makes me feel elevated. It's... perfect. So much unity. The way the legs line up against the wall when it's to be pressed against the wall. The way they rotate... my god.
Remarkable furniture designs to enhance the outlook of house in an innovative and creative manner. One can introduce them for sure to stand their abode apart from others in design and furniture quality. Great Job.
Very intelligent design application for a much needed audience. I always thought boat designers should design furniture for condo's as they are used to getting the most out their space limitations. Some very creative solutions were presented in this video. I saw solutions for both condo and cottage living.
I really like the red sofa concept! I don't know how did the mattress stuck under there upside down. What a way to make the sofa still useable when the bed is deployed
The desks/beds can be put together, other things like the bed/closet have to be in a house that you are buying or you get a contractor to take out a space and put it in for you, but that could include breaking down part of a wall to create that space.
Great idea! I love the concept, specially because it saves space but without sacrificing design! I can totally picture one of those pieces along with a more eye catcher one, such as Soho by Boca do Lobo, it would look great! :)
