I have had the honor of actually having one genius in one of my classes a few years ago. It's truly transformative. I was touched when her family thanked me for having such a great classroom environment, but I was just relieved that I didn't hold her back. I continue to help all of my students, and, if anything, am even more protective of them all since then. Like any trade, the are good and bad examples of teachers, but all students deserve a chance to shine. Any teacher that doesn't have skills can be taught, but any teacher without the temperament is a problem.

Every time when advanced math was needed he was taking someone good at it to help him with equations. But i think you are right that he would never act like that even if he was also as good in math as he was in physics: "Einstein, who would later remark that “Marie Curie is, of all celebrated beings, the only one whom fame has not corrupted,” writes: Highly esteemed Mrs. Curie, Do not laugh at me for writing you without having anything sensible to say." ;)

there is a museum/school in Hamburg were they show classes how prussian schools acctually worked, they had very specific rules on physical dicipline and proper canes or sticks for it. it was also usually on the hands and fingers if i remember correctly.

Most teachers will never understand that we are in the midst of super geniuses. I had the privilege to teach alone in a few years on the job he qas always figity and disturbing but I used his brain to help other slower kids across my other grades which freed up time for me and made me a huge hit across the school. As a past teacher,I learnt that we also don't go to SCHOOL TO TEACH BUT TO BE TAUGHT AS WELL. I left teaching cos salary qas too low and they never get a fair deal in the system

My friend and I were like this, we'd pick seats at the back of the class because we'd always be first to finish and so we just preferred to talk about physics instead of sitting in silence waiting for the other students. Sadly though neither of us ended up in physics as we originally planned, while we both looked up to Einstein greatly... we're both software engineers now.

For any film buffs or nerds. Notice the lighting casted on each character to reflect the situation. The teachers has dark overtones which gives him a suprior and downcasted look.
