Responding to Green Day's Hate Comments! 

Hey everyone! Thanks for checking out this new series I'm starting, it was a lot of fun to film! I spent a LOT of time on the editing to make as entertaining as possible for you guys, please LIKE the video & let me know what you think!

"why can't these guys stay out of politics?" Has that person ever listened to a punk album before? Lol

Billie Joe looks like he's barely aged. He looks a little older when he hasn't shaven but most people do. Facial hair is like the first thing to grey. Mike and Tre look great too. I don't really get the hate for Green Day. They seem like super fun guys and their music is great. I mean, I get if their music isn't someone's cup of tea but it's not really worth hating on. I mean, the trilogy was mostly garbage but it's not worth getting all snotty about it. If anything, they have a bit of a formula that I kind of wish they would break out of it a little more. That's what I liked about Warning, 21CB, and American Idiot. They stretched their sound further. Warning and AI are my top GD albums along with Dookie of course. Warning is one of the most underrated albums, ever. It's not like Green Day is the most technically astounding or greatest band to ever write a song. They write catchy alternative rock/pop punk and Billie Joe is a solid lyricist most of the time. If anything, his words have been incredibly relatable to me during my teenage/young adult years and I've formed an attachment to them. Mike's bass lines are pretty killer for the most part. I love Tre's drumming style too. I have nothing but love for the band. I don't usually comment on music videos of bands that I dislike. I don't see the point. People just like to hate.

Even if you don’t agree with politics, it’s pretty retarded to tell a political punk band to “stay out of politics.” It’s like telling Bad Religion to not sing about religion...

I don’t like all Green Day political beliefs. But I ain’t letting that stuff ruin a great band. Couple things I disagree with isn’t going to ruin one of my favorite bands.

I love how I literally just put on American idiot on vinyl, sat down to watch ARTVs new video and ... hey!

Well at least there was nothing like: "Oh September ended... we have to wake up that guy from Green day lmao" I mean that's so disrespecting.

Is it even possible to hate Green Day??

If I had a dollar for every band I listen to that I don't agree with politically... I am not going to stop listening to music that I like just for that reason.

Honestly, American Idiot isn't even that political. Yes I'm aware it's named American idiot, but that's not everything. It's more of characters suffering and rebelling through tough times. I guess the basic of it is political, but most songs are stories between the characters. love it though

I have just noticed that you start a lot of new series with Green Day. Not like I have anything agianst that, Green Day is one of my favorite bands, but I just wanted to point that out lol

I hate how people are complaining about how a musician is sharing their political opinion. I'm a trump supporter too, but I'm not about to stop listening to my favorite band because I don't agree with Billie. Some people just need to grow up, honestly, and stop being afraid of an opinion that is different than theirs.

At least they write songs that are about real world issues that we face today. It's not like they are trying to spark some kind of controversy in politics or the evolution in American culture, they just want to say things as they are and give people courage to speak the truth and their minds. Green Day DOES NOT deserve to be judged by people who are more influenced by hip hop and pop culture.

Hey Jon! I like Green Day and I loved playing Rock Band back in the 00's. :) I'm more familiar with their 90s stuff like Basket Case, Brain Stew / Jaded and Walking Contradiction (which is my favorite of the songs I know by them). I hope you share some song suggestions for people who'd like to discover more, or link to a video where you do that. Have a great day!

About the Brain Stew and the White Stripes thing, gotta agree, the solo at the end in Brain Stew where it transitions into Jaded, DOES sound a lot like the White Stripes song, but Brain Stew came out first, and is clearly much better, but I gotta agree with that one comment
