I know Hancock has very little evidence for much of the unexplained history. More of his interpretation/story telling. Yet, I often prefer that to the unbelievable arrogance and dogmatic modern scientist. I blame the funding process and peer review system.

Just as a archaeology student at university I’ve experienced this myself. You can barely breathe on the topic of Atlantis or evidence of advanced tech/architecture even if you’re doing it in a reasonable, fact based manner and simply bringing up evidence. Correlating global flood myths into geologic evidence and other stories is a big no no as well. Solon just made it up cause it sounds cool, obviously, and never mind that the date he was given corresponds to Meltwater Pulse 1B. The truth always wills out, and just as you said the true history is probably more nuanced than anyone currently knows. Guess we’ll just wait a couple decades and see.

@@rhwoodwork119 Well because science has already entertained the idea that the similarities between cultures must mean that they all came from a single super culture. It is a neat idea but it simply falls apart on deeper inspection. It also is kinda bad science to begin with, you have to impose the idea on existing evidence, there is no direct evidence for it.

I think you're misunderstanding Potholer's point. He's not saying anyone is wrong, or disagreeing with any of the points Graham has made. He's simply asking 1. to be granted the customary 30 years before hes forced to reluctantly change his stance, and 2. (per tradition) he's given the courtesy of being free to cause immeasurable and irreparable damage to the reputation/public opinion of the theories or subjects in question during that allotted time period.

Customary 30 yers to make a change. Shit main stream academia in our public schools hvae been lying to us for 100 years. And the Catholic Church`hoeaded and didn't share knowledge 1,000 years before that. Remember, the Pope saying: "There is no science. Only Witchcraft. Now go get the firepit started, we got a dozen witches to burn at the stake tonight." lol.. Let me give you an example: Atlantis. It's been found, and everybody from NASA has known since the 1960's. You can see it from space, and they kept it from us. To try and "fool" us, they now call it "The Eye of the Sahara", in Northwest Africa. No, it's Atlantis! Nice to know Plato was making shit up, but was really passing along the knowledge he acquired by writing it down. 10,000 years ago the Sahara was not a desert, but a lush tropical paradise with grass, trees, and rivers and lakes! And Atlantis fell with the Great Flood of Noah, which is also about 10,000 years ago. We know this to be true. Check out "Bright Insight" RU-vid channel for the update on Atlantis. Now let me explain how this works. You are down to just 6 people in the world. And the waters of the world raised to 12,000 feet high. All throughout the world mountains 12,000 feet and below you find fossils of fish, shrimp, clams etc. on the tops of the mountains. So you got 6 people, who were described as "Caucasian" referring to where they were from, and their physical appearance. In other words Honkey. lol Noah had red jair blue eyes, and fair skin. Wis wife had blond hair, blue eyes, and fair skin. The ark came to rest on Mt. Ararat which is in the Caucus Mountains. So what we are taught is early man, the "Hunter Gatherers" were too stupid to farm or tie their shoes. So they went around barefoot stubbing their toes. Then came along "Cro Magna Man" who did farm and build cities and temples. Guess what, they are the same people. Remember, we were down to 6 human being, we all are descendents of Noah and his wife. BUT, what happened is Noah's offspring set out from the Caucua Mountains (headed south into Turkey and built Gobleki Tepe in Turkey, dated to 10,000 BC. Think it's the "first" organized civilization., but there is a problem Big problem. It takes many many years for the earth to dry out. Everything is a swamp and soggy for probably 100 years after the flood. So you could not farm and raise crops till the soil dried out. Till then, to survive, you had to become a "Hunter Gatherer". You didn't get a choice.There is Only 1 race - the human race, and only 1 species of mankind. Look, Hancock is a reporter, and after being lucky enough to visit Egypt a few times, and other places, what we have been taught just doesn't add up. The bottom line, the archaeologists were making shit up to keep their jobs. There are distinct tube drill marks in the air shafts of the King's chamber of the Great Pyramid. That means electricity, and electric motors. You cannot operate a "hand" tubedrill and cut granite, Impossible. Check out "History for Granite" for that video. The pyramids didn't "make" electricity. "Electricity" was used to create the great pyramid! What we think of as "new" discoveries today, are simply discoveries of forgotten knowldge that didn't get passed on. Want something cool that will "blow your mind"? Check out "Kinesin Proteins". Every living cell plant or animal have them. (Yes I know this blow the Theory of zEvolution out the window where it belongs. Darwin was a "Botanist". He studied plants, not animals. And the Human Genome Project proved the very first human being got their start in the Caucua Mountains, not Africa. The Human Genome Project ended up proving Noah existed, and the flood did happen. Science went looking for the first man and woman in the world and their location. And found Noah and his wife. That was not the scientists were hoping for naturally. I don't understand the appeal of being related to apes. EZven if your brother in law looks and acts like one. LOL! Take care! (Robert Sepehr - Debinking the "Out of Africa Theory" for mankind") Yeah turns out alot of the shit in the bible is actually true.

The idea of enchantment towards certain exalted spiritual concepts and matters of our origin is deeply embedded into the human experience from our long lineage of ancestors, This shows it’s pull even in modern times as we see the people who claim to suppress this tendency the most (these types of militant atheists) still tend to show a dogmatic streak and almost a Saturnian like worshipping attitude towards whatever it is that squeezes their lemon , which is in this case their priestclass of scientists and their scientific materialism and atheism .

Really... You had a 'rap career?' I had you pegged in the 'Grateful Dead,' category! Maybe a groupie! lol I don't think anyone has the complete, 100% truth about anything... The best we can do, is listen to the arguments and review the evidence, observe the sites and develop our own conclusions. In addition to stone, bone and wood artifacts, today, we have DNA. And the genetic observations, where they can be made, show that ancient America was a mixture of races, much like today. It wasn't just one race or the other. And we also have 'side scan. and ground penetrating radar,' that has exposed entire cities in the Amazon jungle, that were previously hidden under the canopy and earth! Places so vast, they haven't even been touched by science! These places include large temples, dwellings, and whatever the other structures may be! Entire civilizations, hidden from site... so, they don't exist, because some scientist didn't find it, on a deep jungle expedition, with mules and collies and a big fat paycheck!

Have watched about ten of your debunking, noting it is an absolutely fair and proper dissection of the way that people use their dislike of alternate takes with regard to matters historical by deliberate omission, or changing the intent of any peer reviewed paper, blog, RU-vid video, tv documentary, tv series etc. They use opinion or their view to merely back up their own prejudices. I particularly enjoyed your debunks of Dr Milano (whom do I rate and enjoy -as 'an ancient history expert') when it comes to his dogmatic approach to say Dr Sweatman's Pillar 43 theory, where he clearly demonstrated that he was out of his depth with even the most basic science and maths (or math🙂or the point) when he ventures in any degree out of his chosen field to critique. I enjoy watching and reading Graham Hancock to an extent, but still swore away as myself and my girlfriend watched Ancient Apocalypse feeling like Ancient Aliens almost, yet applauded some parts where he was obviously on the right track. That some of the archeologists and historians can be found guilty of dogma and ridiculing any new theories or studies, even from their own peers is a known fact. I don't say that lightly either. Your videos show clearly how having people who are allowed the main say of where we are in history as a 'fact' is ultimately holding our understanding of prehistory back. I did comment to Dr Milano a year or or back on his RU-vid site that archaeologists in Egypt (with the eminent title of "Egyptologists" a rare archaeological term related to geographical area) can live in denial and prevent progress by simply dismissing new ideas or methods of studying ancient "There are no voids in the great pyramid" or "No extra rooms located in the vicinity of Tutankhamun's tomb" or one of the other Zawi Hawass quotes used as an example, I can't quite remember. Dr Milano said he didn't agree with me. Some of the flaws in Dr Milano's analysis on Sweatman's vulture stone paper/video as demonstrating a date in time related to the Zodiac I had noticed myself, you know Sweatman has done a rebuke? You should be on mainstream media mate. Excellent.

I know these videos are old, but I can't resist commenting. Especially after the strange description of the evolution / creationism conflict. Mainly the idea that there is one, I mean beyond the hallowed halls of RU-vid. Creationism isn't a thing where valid research is being done. Perhaps you've moved on from this, but almost every one of your arguments conflate the individual speaking with the information being offered. It doesn't matter how snide, nice or articulate the person is...why are their ideas wrong, and how can you demonstrate that. If your arguments boil down to..."a lot of humans do things, some of them good but some of them bad, so I'll use the bad ones to represent the idea itself", then I'll spare you the suspense. You can debunk anything. There are bad people who ascribe to every possible idea, but that says nothing about the idea itself.

Science isn't an institution, it's a practice. It's not better than religion, they're not the same. Religion isn't a belief in god, it's a highest value of a life philosophy, for some that's god, which a fictional ideal isn't the worst thing to model, but it can be anything. People try and claim their value set and beliefs aren't religious because they're true. Almost everyone thinks there religion is true, even when they don't believe it literally, they believe the practice of their religion benefits them. And for pretty much all the long lived religions and life philosophies, they tend to be. You don't need god, if you replace "god" with "truth" as your highest priority, it really doesn't change the Christian gospel much. I think that's convergent memetic evolution.

@@DeDunking I don't want to accuse him of anything wrong but judging by the other claims made in his comment and based on experience with the same points I would bet we have a "science is a religion" dude here. While I share your point (hope I got it right) that science shouldn't become like a religion. I want to add that - despite what I saw from Mr. Hancock so far - archaeology isn't all about monolithic sites and pyramids. If you want a quick guide through roman iconography or the old pottery in a fort, that's our field as well. Tbh the last time I heard about Clovis First at all was in my first semester... because it doesn't matter much if you study Roman archaeology. The prehistorians can battle Mr. Hancock all they want about a lost civilization if they want to, I will certainly follow up on it but I don't really care much (until the trilithon of Baalbek gets pulled into the discourse...). It doesn't matter what "mainstream archaeology" wrongly defended, because "mainstream archaeology" technically only exists when it comes to representing the contemporary results towards students at a public school for example. The professors of one and the same university usually don't agree on many things in their specialised field of research. Claiming that archaeology failed because of Clovis first is like claiming that all electricians failed, because the microwave in the kitchen only works when I switch on the light in the living room, after some electricians worked on the house (just an example). If you want to access peer reviewed journals, go to a library. That's what archaeology students have to do too if they don't want to ask for a paper. I was heavily injured and couldn't go to our books for one semester. Out of all the literature I needed for one single presentation, I found exactly one book digitalised...was very frustrating.

If alternative theories like the pre-Clovus theories are often dogmatically fought against by the older archaeological establishment, but more accepted within younger archaeological circles, isn't the fact that Graham Hancock's theories are fairly unpopular with younger archaeologists evidence that his theories probably have no water? Young people in any academic field like fringe theories. They like questioning the stuff their professors teach and feeling like they're destined to overturn the mainstream consensus when they grow older. Why wouldn't they believe in anything Graham Hancock says then?
@DeDunking
@DeDunking Год назад
That's an interesting point, but it doesn't exactly track as evidence. It's a good inference, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it evidence. Basically it relies on the assumption archeologists are fundamentally right, just sometimes we have outliers. The data, that's usually accurate. The interpretations, those are... open to interpretation. *rimshot Yes, I'm a crappy comedian.
@cowyeti21
@cowyeti21 Год назад
@@DeDunking It's not direct evidence yeah. But neither is the story of dogmatic acceptance of Clovus first evidence that Graham Hancock's theories may be being dogmatically rejected by archaeologists who treat science like a religion. I'm just saying that the Clovus example is very dissimilar from Hancock's theories. The pre-Clovus theories were required to meet a higher burden of proof by older archaeologists who did not want it to be true, but at the end of the day, it was able to meet that burden because it's true and there is evidence for it. Graham has never proposed even a hypothesis with enough evidence that warrants more serious investigation of his theory. The fact that young archaeologists who are hungry to be contrarians don't believe in anything he says suggests that his theories are weak. It's not like you see a lot of physics students who think the Earth is flat.
@DeDunking
@DeDunking Год назад
@@cowyeti21 I understand what you're saying, I think a lot of this comes down to them not accepting myth and archaeoastronomy as evidence. If they did, I think the skeleton of Hancock's lost civ (minus all the goofy stuff like psychic DMT powers) would be accepted by some archeologists. The Clovis thing isn't so much about the degree of evidence compared to Hancock as it is the rejection of evidence by the establishment. Sure, the shovel pushing, wheelbarrow toting gophers on digs thought Clovis First was outdated, but the tenured academics that wrote textbooks did not think that. The point is, and in some ways, like the measuring of the Great Pyramid for instance, academia ignores mysteries that would support Hancock's position.
@cowyeti21
@cowyeti21 Год назад
@@DeDunking Can you blame them for preferring harder forms of evidence like tools, burial sites and genetic traces? When you have to use the extremely interpretive and assumption based fields of mythology and archaeoastronomy to have any evidence of your advanced civilization, you can't then in the same breath wonder why mainstream archaeology isn't taking your theories seriously. Find a 12k+ year old ornately crafted copper axe and then maybe they'll believe you. Right now we only have crude flint and stone tools from that time. Yeah but Clovus has to be comparable for it to be at all relevant in discussion of Hancock. For example, flat earthers are laughed at by physicists, so could they point to Clovus first as an example of how mainstream science often laughs at alternate theories, and how it's mainstream physicists that are suppressing the truth about flat earth? No. Flat earth does not have a shred of evidence compared to pre-Clovus theories. Neither does Hancock.

Graham Hancock is unpopular with about all archaeologists. I don’t think you can draw any inference based on different generational archaeologists to make any statement in an attempt to prove a point, at least not with any validity.

Yeah... saw and was around during the 'Atheist wars' online. I had to admit the religious people I engaged with had a point when they said science is being treated as a religion, with dogma dictated by the anointed. I was always somewhat bemused (and saddened) by their nonetheless accurate accusations. Saying it's as bad as their religion is....isn't really a win for their side as much as an admittance that dogma isn't good either way. 'You're almost as bad as I am' isn't really a good case for why it's correct/good IMO.
