I've come here to see who you were BEFORE you had the terrible experience of having your van crashed ( shared w/many on women's vandweller sights). As I hear you making what is a very legitimate point about how attitude can color your experience, I also hear judgement towards "those who complain"... I hope you recover well from this awful moment in your life... AND...I hope, in it, you will find a resounding empathy towards others in the knowledge that we never really know someone else's story...all that they are going through, all they've survived...and that blindly judging others is not only unkind, but arrogant as well. Susi, I retired a year ago @53 and felt odd, confused and lost. For the first time I had no busy duties, hustles and drama. I turned UTUBE one night and there was your journey. A light bulb turned on, I was excited, motivated and inspired by your van life. Im setting out, inspire by your journey on March. I want to live life and whatever it may bring, joy, sadness,, laughter, struggles or intimate happiness, cause I'll be living it my way. I have no expectation so life can surprises me. I once retired and got bored, I created a construction business stuck now for a while. I wish I come across these video's before I created the construction business. I'd be on the road somewhere now. This hygiene thing about showering everyday is a bunch of bull. I been on hunting trips dropped off in a plane to a hunting cabin. No way out but the plane, the plane circled the cabin once a day in case of emergency. For one week I did without a shower. I washed my face and head behind the ears and the hot spots everyday and a fresh pair of socks and underwear a long with a fresh set of clothes every couple days. I'm pretty sure I did not smell or my Wife would of told me when I got back, don't think she would not tell me she has after a day of hard work when I got home. Of course a shower is nice but not necessary everyday.
Hey guys, I think it's important to remember the RU-vidr who made "Van Life Is A Lie" is only 19 years old. When you're that young, you just don't have the life experience and frankly, your brain is still developing. So no wonder this very young adult reacted to van life this way. In 10 years from now, she'll likely look back on her complaints about RU-vidrs in a very different way. But yeah, for teens/young adults who think life translates onto social media...living actual life is ALWAYS a very different experience. I'm glad she's figuring this out and can share that message with her peers. It's a good reminder to kids.

We all have the power to make our own reality. Trusting the universe and being thankful that is what it's all about. Everything is just perfect the way it is.
When I started warching the video I was impressed with editing/sound mixing, its so good. Then she pounded away at my stupidness with talk that would make the Buddha smile. Your van life seems real. It's not fake-perfect. it seems like a lot of work! you're so diligent. With all the hard work you experience the joys such as God's beautiful creation, the sunsets and the majestic mountains. One can appreciate more such as being dry and cozy on a dreary wet day, or getting fresh water from a river for a shower. I'm impressed how independent you are! We also make vlogs about living vanlife and traveling in a van, but in video's you only get to see such as small part of the full picture of vanlife. Vanlife can be hard work, always finding toilets, water, showers, places to sleep etc. There are days where you just don't want to do it haha. But you don't want to film too much of the grumpy moments i guess, that's not really fun to watch. The definition of vanlife is living in a van, and making fun content for youtube is a whole other thing right? But, we think you're nailing both :) Lots of love, Leon and Miek

This is the best argument I’ve ever seen for the “Van life is fake” trend. It is art. Our lives are art and just because our creation isn’t clear or doesn’t attune to certain tastes makes it no less valid. Keep living and seeking your truth ❤️

My newly found favorite person on this platform. RU-vid has a huge space but she’s by far the most pure soul on here. You can tell the passion she has inside of her with every word she speaks. This is my dream life- to go live, forget society and all of the “norms” and to make every single day an adventure. In life, we’ve been given so much more accessories and unnecessary things that we “need”. I love that she’s living with what she needs and being so content. I’ve never seen someone so content. The downsides of van life are the price you pay for moments like you had scotland. Peeing in a bush and not showering are what it costs to get to stand alone at sunset in the Scotish highlands on the edge of a beautiful lake. It's the price you pay to see the world. To you it's worth the price, you see the magic in the world & think the cost is worth it. Some people don't see that & so don't think it's worth the cost. It's not a yes/no situation, it's about what certain experiences are worth to each individual, some of us are willing to pay the price (not just in money but in time & discomfort) to do a thing, some are not. The world would be a strange place if we all liked the same thing, for starters vanilla would be the only ice cream flavor. Do you as hard as you can & ignore the naysayers.

i visit scotland regularly and i totally get your feelings and emotion at the beautiful scenery there it is my fave country in the world........i love what you are doing and your vids are fab.. if you can ,,try to get up to fort william and ride the cable car gondolas up to the ben nevis range if its a nice clear day the views are spectacular ...i think your dog will be ok to go on too

I always question myself like when they believe that van life is always great then they maybe also believe that the earth is flat like you have to look behind all the great photos.. all the cold nights in winter or like you said peeing in the bushes. Everyone has their own way of living or even sharing parts of their life’s, some only share the good parts and that doesn’t mean they don’t have bad parts in their life. Sorry to read about the van crash. The guy did a runner as he most likely had no insurance or tax . If you know the registration number you can check online if he had insurance at ownvehicle.askmid.com/ and the M.O.T status at www.gov.uk/check-mot-history. I wish you all the best for the future and am certain you will overcome this setback.

This is completely unrelated but do you have peño on a flea and tick preventative ? Do you keep his vaccines up to date ? Just curious to know what you do for him as a van lifer....are there paperwork you have to do for him when entering a new country ? I've been watching your videos for a while now, living van life is my dream when I'm older. For about 4 years now, I've been watching van tours/conversions and tiny house builds and I'm only 14 and this is definetly how I want to live when I'm older. In van life I feel you get to experience so much more than living an average house life. Also we have the same Christmas calendar countdown 😂😁🎅🎄
