Raider Nation on the check in .. i see you dripped up! R.I.P. Brother Marquis. the 2 Live Crew definitely had the Miami Bass Scene on Lock. Really wished he could've did more as an independent artist, but his contributions definitely put miami on the map. Peace and Rest in Power to the Brother Marquis!

Rest in peace Brother Marquis. I was a kid the first time I heard 2 Live Crew. Living in the Bay. Oakland CA. The year was 1986. I was 13 years old. “But me and her both know all the facts, She's in love with a brother from the ghetto, who is black! My 7 bizzos”

I never had the pleasure to meet Bro. Marquis in person, but 2 Live Crew was definitely one of my all time favorite rap groups back in the 1980s! Fun fact: I'm from L.A., California & my stepsister used to live about 1½ hours east of L.A. in Riverside; Before he moved to South Florida, purportedly Marquis was from Riverside, and my stepsister said she knew him! Small world...
