We left links in the description to all the products I shared in the video. Share what gear you would buy on a $200 budget in the comments 👇

i think buying an older model of a good racket like you have done is a good idea rather than these "beginner" rackets

For sure!

Also used racquets are a great option for people starting and don't wanting (I'd agree) to spend too much before figure many things out

Good point about checking what is on sale. Older version of rackets is miles better than random cheap prestrung rackets at sportstores. When there is a new version of a racket coming out, they dump the prices on the old version. Ex: You could buy the Wilson Blade V8 both in the most popular 98sqin 16x19 and also the better for new players 100sqin, for the neat price of 113 euro/123 USD. That is a fantastic price, the v9 does not have anything that would make a difference for new players. Heck, I have too many rackets and do not plan on switching to a Blade 100, and still I was one click away from ordering one just to add to my collection since the price was so cheap (and I actually like the v8 paintjob)

Yup....any older models of racquets from 2-3 years past are great and you should be able to get them at a good price. For beginners I do recommend they stick to a lighter frame so they can still work on the technique of all the strokes without trying to wield around a heavy racquet.

Would love you to make a video if you can turn back time to when you first started tennis and what you’d still do and what you’d avoid it. Thanks.

I got super lucky recently and got a great deal at my local store. A new vcore pro 100 for $99. That same section also sold a Pure Drive Vs, Pure Aero Rafa (2021), Head Radical and Speed (2021).

Head Boom Pro. Head dampener. Head Prime Tour overgrip. Head Lynx Tour string(usually you get a discount when you string it on a Head racket). I would wear my regular sneakers until I see a better sale on something other than a Zoom Pro. A week or two ago, the K Swiss had the HyperCourt Supreme for like 60 bucks. Finding the right sale on a good shoe is just a matter of patience and timing.

My budgetlist on TW-EU: Wilson Blade V8 100sqin (98 same price) 113euro/123USD- Strung by TW-EU with Head Velocity MLT 5,80euro/6,33 USD - Asics Solution Swift FF AC (70euro but 15% on Asics) 60euro/65,52USD - Yonex Super Grap 3pk 6,39euro/6,98USD. That gives me a total of 185euro/202USD. This is however a racket that is strung, in your budget you are buying rackets and strings but don't include the cost of actually stringing it. Pretty solid equipment and seriously good value for your money imo (and a better racket than both the CX200 and the Head Boom, if I would dare say so even though they are more than fine for new players)

There are definitely many combos out there and this looks solid as well. Thank you for sharing.

I'd spend an extra 9.95 on a pack of Sonic Pro and string hybrid Sonic Pro/ Syn. Then you have enough for a re-string in 6 months and you don't get the funny squiggle shapes in the stringbed!

Great suggestion!

Highly would not recommend the vapor lite. The cushion minimal and so stiff it gave me knee pain after 30 mins. The heel is also super narrow and easy to twist your ankle in. The default cheap white decathlon shoes or those court jams are alot better.

Ya...shoes impact everyone differently and that's why I wanted to give two options for this small budget of $200. For example I get blisters from Barricades and other people don't. Both shoes are a great entry point for beginners. I have never tried the Decathlon, so thanks for sharing. 👍

this is a legit set up. only thing would prob try for a 100 inch headsize racket. otherwise this is good to go!

Yup...that is why I included the Head Boom MP later in the video.

You do not need to put an overgrip on your racquet . It increases the thickness and just destroys whats underneath. It also forces you to get a lower grip size to even it out for comfort . Pick a head size that proprtionaly supports your grip size .
