Oh my gosh I absolutely loved this video and you amazing ladies. 👏 Thank you so so very much I have been looking for some rust removers. And I found you ladies. I am a retired Veteran and have been around in many aspects of my life (to make it short) I was raised with around and trained many. But over time (kids, military, life) I remember my hobby and that was being with my horse. Her now gone and now me with a 10 yo mare who has been thru a couple owners and I will be her last. She is 10 and I am 47. We are relearning together. Thank you again I will be searching for more videos. Bless you

I really like how your video shows unexperienced people working with the horses. That is a unique change from other videos I have seen!

You're just what I needed. Safe, great gelding had to have 20 months off.... Last ride he had crow hopped (new person riding him)..... Need ground work to get him back to me and for my confidence to build up again! Thc

Do you have any videos that show/explain the backing up? I have been doing this with my horse but he is a Gypsy vanner so about the size of myra and find when I do the back up its a bit of challenge to exagerate the movement without catching the snap on his chin or trying to get my hand near his chest wihtout being in his face ...

Violet Gaylord there should be some more information in the Showmanship videos. But basically you need to create more energy in your horse, not you, faster and with steady pressure.... even if you have to add a lot of pressure immediately

Will this work on a very placid horse who has gone feral after 10 years of no himan interaction other than hand feeding? I left home and im now back and hes familiar with me but completely different.

Hi Nero, Depending on the amount of groundwork/riding he had previously. If this is something you did 10 years ago… yes, but I would pretend he was learning all over again to give him the time to think and make the right choice. If he was left in a good training spot when you stopped working with him (ie: no bad habits or issues) then he should get back into the routine fairly easily. Good luck! Let us know.
