My wife asks me why I do not ever send my food back. DO NOT FUCK WITH THE PEOPLE THAT MAKE YOUR FOOD. If the steak comes out medium and I asked for medium rare. Maybe it was an off night for the cook. I am NOT sending it back. Fast food is a slightly different story (like I was given a completely wrong order (likely the car in front or behind me). But i ain't going to be a dick about it because I once worked those jobs and have watched this scene. Moral of the story. DO. NOT. FUCK. With the people who prepare YOUR food. Period.
@@MrTankHard People miss one fact about food (especially fast food) You come around with a receipt and show them the food they will NOT take it back. You can keep 20 burgers if that's what they gave you. Don't sleep on the free food you already got, idiots. Go get what you wanted and count it as a win!
@@MrTankHard I agree, I've just got two points. 1) just be fucking polite if you have to send something back, and 2) the size of the problem you can respectfully complain about goes down as the price of your meal goes up.
I've been working in the restaurant industry all my life and this kind of stuff goes on ALL the TIME at EVERY restaurant...So a word of wisdom, don't piss off the server or cook BEFORE your meal, do it AFTER!
I’ve worked at so many restaurants that I’ve lost count. Not only does this shit not happen, but the one time someone joked that they were going to do something, one of the cooks took the expo outside and beat his ass - then we all did shots to alleviate the tension.
@@danalexander2149 Yeah was in F& B for many years, and I never once witnessed this behaviour. Every Chef I know hates this movie because of this scene. They get angry as fuck and usually take it out on the server which sucks for the server getting mistreated from both the customer and back of house, but they do not fuck with the food. Anyone who says otherwise is either lying or worked for a psycho.
Same. Mostly why I don't work in restaurants anymore lol. Working in the ole plastic cup factory now. Don't have to deal with customers like this bitch.
I actually broke up a seven year relationship and engagement because of the "biatch" acting up very much like that over ice in her drink (which she ordered without). If you can't be polite to the people about to serve us dinner, I ain't going to be around to pay for your dinners. That was the final straw.
Rudeness to stewardesses also, if you’re in my company and talk shit to staff members I’ll make an example of you, I’ll pick your weakest point and expose it . I ll then go up to the staff member and give them a generous tip out of your money and then leave while the whole restaurant fucking hates you …..o was a chef for 22 years and cherished kicking people out for being total skid marks, it was an addictive feeling of power, honour and fairness, the way some people ( my mum included)speak to workers is appalling and I was the executioner when I heard about such things. Speaking down to people in that fashion makes the whole table kinda uneasy too. On several occasions a member of their group thanked me for it and then left a good tip . Its murder going out to dinner with my mum , invariably she’ll
@@anonymousreactions2803 I want to eat out but sadly I can't trust I prefer buffet, grocery frozen and prepared meals or something like panda express that's visible
@@Buydaa.M I don't blame you at all. I don't even trust food carts right now. Unless the food was made right in front of me by trusting (my own for example) hands, I'm not eating it.
@@Buydaa.M exactly I stay calm and polite as possible. I’ve waitressed and did fast food. When I go through the drive through and I either get the wrong order or they put something I said I didn’t want on it, I get it shit happens, I go inside and show my ticket and they offer to fix it but because I know these things go on I usually tell them no thank you I just want my money back I lost my appetite. When it’s a dine in I stay calm and polite as well and I mention that I’m sure it got overlooked if it’s busy there I’ll ask for it to be corrected but if it’s really busy or they give me the vibe that I bothered them or how dare I inconvenience them for my order being wrong I just have them take it off the bill because I don’t want my food fucked with I still tip them 20% and in cash. Everyone makes mistakes and has bad days too. One server caught me as I was at the door leaving and said she thought I maybe made a mistake with leaving her a 20 for a tip. I told her we all have bad days and I figured that would make her day better. After that whenever I’d come back she’d make sure things went smooth with my table and family there.
In high school I worked as a cook at a Thai restaurant this is pretty accurate what happens in the kitchen if you piss off a server. I remember one time a guy put his hair in the food and bitched at the server and demanded a new meal. We basically cooked the meal went to the restroom drop the food on the nasty ass floor for a couple of minutes and picked that shit up and served it to him.
I've had that happen where I'm just late from leaving work and didn't keep track of time. Usually 100% chill about it though when they say it's close to closing time. Know what? Being nice got me free food (they were gonna throw away anyway). People reciprocate basic courtesy and just being nice.
@@blazinpuffs honestly no, your server wants to go home just like you her shift is supposed to end at close and when people show up essentially at close that long aged the process by honestly 1-2 hours
@@blazinpuffs glad you got "doggie bag" leftovers. Public face must be adhered to when speaking to customers. In the kitchen, it's a different story most of the time. That food passed the 5 second rule.
Nah not necessarily I worked 15 years as a server , bartender, cook , expo , and even manager. Just cause someone is in late like that doesn’t warrant the line treatment that bitch got. Especially if they’ve had some shitty set of circumstances befall them as well & they just need some food. Most people who did that would even apologize for not realizing how close to close it was . Now if they act as she did sure, but usually if I took care of people and also took care of my cooks If someone came in @ 11:50 pm when we closed @ 12:00 am I’d get a 30-40 percent tip especially when handling the situation better than most restaurants do & you just offer limited options to make it easier on your guys or gals closing the line.
From having worked in restaurants in the 90s 00s this is 100% accurate. If you’ve been mean to your server…. This has happened to you I promise. Lmao! It gets funnier every time I see it.
I was young and left a date at Claim Jumper (baller on a budget!) holding the tab after she acted like this and ran up the bill on alcohol and everything else. Waitress mentioned an extra cost for something and she replied that she didn’t care, I was paying for it. We both indulged in appetizers, alcohol and a couple of desserts. I got up to use the restroom and “forgot” to mention I’d be using the one at home. 👋🏻
I used to work at Applebee's in Lexington as a host, then a server, then I worked at carside. I worked there for a year and I swear whoever thought of this script had to have worked there. The set up is the same, the people are the same, it's just soooo true. Awesome movie. haha. I served dozens of people like the lady with the stead. Guh, people suck.
If any of my friends ever behave like the way that woman did ….I promise you not only will I condone what the employees did but I will ALSO participate in what the employees did.
When I went to Australia, I learned tipping is not part of their culture. Instead they pay their workers generous wages. Minimum wage there is about 16 or 17 dollars.
My last wife, every damn time we went out to eat, she would find something to bitch about and send some part of her meal back for something. Not done enough. Overcooked. Too this. Not enough that. Always something. It really annoyed and embarrassed me. One night we are home watching a TV news documentary, "Caught In The Act". It was about people who were caught, usually on video, adulterating food in restaurants, the office coffee pot, etc. One guy was caught spitting in food at a restaurant. They asked if he would do an interview and he consented. The reporter asked what would a customer have to do to get that kind of treatment. He replied "sending food back". He said it was like a slap in the face to the chef and would guarantee you got "special ingredients". I began laughing my ass off. She said "That's not funny". I countered that it was. But ya know what? She quit sending shit back! I woulda bought that guy they interviewed a beer if I could have.
You know it's gonna be a good story when it starts with "My last wife" lol. Yeah that shit defintiely happens in restaurants. I worked in restaurants for 10 years. I don't think that kind of thing is very common but it does happen when people are assholes. And as a former chef it really does suck when someone sends your food back. When you work hard as shit to get the food looking really good and they send it back, it would piss me off so much. But that's why I got out of the restaurant business. Don't have to deal with customers.
I went to a nice restaurant once and ordered my steak medium, it came out well. The waiter asked me how it was, and I (as politely as possible) said it was a little overdone. He goes to the kitchen and the Executive Chef comes out. I've never heard of an exec. chef. He takes one look at my steak, takes the plate and chucks the whole thing (plate too) in the trash. He was pissed at the guy who made the stake. He brought out a new plate with the best steak I've ever had for me, no charge.
Never bitch to your food server. I used to work at a restaurant. They will tamper with your food. You can complain after they served you or don't leave a tip. If you have to complain, do it nicely.
being a server, busser, cook ... it really sucks sometimes. as long as you find a decent place that has history and generations or decades of customer relationships then it will be a cake walk unless you dick up. but every other joe shmo place can get like this lol. I saw a server at the first restaurant I worked at drop a prime rib off the tray as we we're taking out dinners for an 8 top, look back at me and he just picked it up and kept going lol fucking horrible. the best part was he didn't put the tray down to get it, he just did a low squat with it lol. he wasn't doing it on purpose like an add, it just fell off as he was about to round the corner to dining room. but you never know what goes on around that corner...
Better solution: don't go to restaurants. Places that have these kinds of problems aren't worth going to and the places that don't are too expensive. Get a slow cooker and a few spices and you have anything you want any day of the week with minimal effort. Speaking of, time for some beef stroganoff.
My experience, having worked in other service areas but not restaurants (retail and janitorial), is this, when you do go to a restaurant, 95% of the time if you bring up a problem or concern politely they'll take care of it and quickly.
Im a chef at a small restaraunt, ive had many food brought back because it wasnt "done right" or the steak "wasnt cooked enough" ive remade orers with a lil bit of spit, dandruff, piss, and vomit. Thank you monty for remindin the number 1 rule of code: "Dont fuck with the people who handle your food."
Put myself through school working in restaurants and never saw cooks do anything this gross, but there are 100% some people out there who deserve this.
Rule #1 of history: NEVER f*ck with ppl who handle your food. Farmers, kitchen, wives. SO many rulers ended just like that. It really is the cardinal rule
I worked in a drive thru for a few years as a teen. I smoked weed in the parking lot and drank beers in the freezer with my friends. It still amazes me how some people can be so rude in a drive thru to a teenager who could care less about their job. I seen people cough in cups before filling them. Drop food on the disgusting floor on purpose then serve it. The best was when my friend smeared ball sweat on the brim of a cup to an asshole that left his drink out while he went to the bathroom. Don't talk down to people who get paid minimum wage. They will light you up.
I run my business well. And with that I mean I tell ALL of my employees I expect nothing less of exemplary behavior and service. I could care less if the customer tells them off, they know if I am around I will deal with the customer my self. Believe me, I have set some of those rude customers straight and told them to treat my workers with respect or they can easily find another establishment to cater to their egotistical needs. I can deal with losing a few dollars.
Lmao, I think that varies depending on your crowd. I worked in kitchen 90% of the time, and... 1. Pretty young women in 20's tipped best. 2. The kids get special attention so mommy feels nice. 3. What's on tap? IDK... 4. Gospel Tracks. 5. "Is it good"? It was hilarious to hear servers cursing out annoying people, etc.
I've put up with the same shit as a cashier and I realized how bad it was in the food business when I worked at Chili's.. so yes, I do know how it's like. I put up with it for over 6 years as both a cashier and a waiter. So don't get off on me like I do not understand you because I do. I dealt with people like that all the time and believe me my most powerful way of putting them down and making them feel like shit was by smiling and being happy and saying God Bless to them. Their guilt was gold!
One time a black lady came in and ordered a meal *specifically* cooked and prepared her way. The restaurant I work in has preparations and guidelines on how we cook our food. When her food was cooked and prepared, I handed it out calling her name and going over her order. Sitting in her table, she snaps her finger and points to her own table as a gesture to make me bring her food to her. In addition, she demanded, "Napkins!". There's a certain "S" word for this scenario. I can't quite name it.
That's understandable. I'm a waiter and if I went out to eat and my steak was obviously overcooked I would send it back also. Just be polite and you waiter will want to help you out as best he can. Just remember that the cooks might have 20+ steaks going at once on a Friday or Saturday night so over/undercooks do happen on occasion.
You could tell she was fishing to get a free meal in the beginning part she told the waitress the last 4 times she came here the food was awful. If it was that bad why keep coming back? I had the owner of the place I worked at on my side when I had a customer like her. She tried to get things free and my owner put her in her place saying “we provided a service to you; so you’re going to pay for the service provided to you. If you’re not happy with the services we provided, then don’t come back. You’re not getting a free meal just because you didn’t like it.”
Exactly, at a family, casual dining restaurant, some people act like it is fine dining. I call the people LR for Low Rent. They honestly think they are dining out in high society. Please people, if you were at a five star restaurant, they wouldn't let you come in with your wife beater T-Shirt on.
Just like that scene in Road Trip.. You know the scene where the waiter took the guy's french toast and did something nasty with it.. Yeah that's right.. Never mess with the people who handle your food.
This is actually a crime. Kitchen staff could each be charged with simple battery - through the intentional transmission of bodily fluids with intent to cause offense or harm. All the bystanders could each be charged multiple times with aiding in simple battery. The maximum punishment in LA for simple battery is 6 months imprisonment and $1,000 fine.
Mitch face of horror got me rollin. When dude was hype to blow snot on the food got me rollin 😂😂😂😂😂😂. I saw this movie when was a teen. I used to tell my BM to be nice to the staff.
I worked at a dairy queen in high school. A guy at work pissed in the 5 gallon bucket of mr misty (slushy) base. Then poured it into the machine. People drank piss for a week until i had to clean the machine out
A server or cook should never mess with someone's food just because they are board or immature. That being said, if you are a shitty enough person to be rude to the people who work their asses off preparing your meal and trying to give you an enjoyable experience, you fully deserve this.
