Thank you for this comment. I was thinking it was a '57(I prefer the book over the movie) and didn't realize the movie used a '58.

King also proved beyond a reasonable doubt that he doesn't know much about cars: > He said the car was a red '57 Fury. I don't think that anybody would order a vanity plate with the number he gave for Christine's plate, so . . . ? But still, I admit that, even with all of the nit-picky little mistakes that would take a real car hobbyist to find, I did enjoy the book. In fact, it's my second-favorite of his novels (after The Stand), and I am a Stephen King fan. The movie was pretty good, too, if you just remember that it really isn't the same story that King wrote. One fun little piece of trivia concerning "Christine": As far as I know, to this day it was the only time that a feature movie and the book on which it was (kind of) based both came out, with much anticipation, on the same day! Of course, that was in the early 1980's, when Stephen King was at the height of his popularity.

I am in Australia and I saw a red christine parked on the side of a main road in Brisbane in the 80's definitely was a christine and took 3 standard car parks in length very sadly because it being the main drag I couldn't turn around to have a closer look & nowhere left to park.
