That is a Herefordshire registration. We had one of these, though diesel, TCJ 260 [later 292 EVJ as my father wanted the tractor number on his car]. It had an engine rebuild in about 1976, having recorded 10,000 hours. It was his first tractor when he started farming in 1961. The Bakelite had worn down to the metal on the steering wheel! I drove that tractor a lot in the 1970s. It was a great little tractor though always was a hard starter in the cold. It would always go, but needed two large six volt batteries so that it would keep turning till it eventually fired up. It also had a Ki-gas pump to help. Thanks for the memories stirred. I used to trim the hedges with a mid-mounted Twose cutter bar hedge cutter mounted on it. So much neater than the flail trimmers that were coming in in those days. It also had a loader so that it was used used for clearing Farm Yard Manure from the cattle sheds, and also for the Bale Slave that picked up six of the old style small bales and lifted them onto the trailers. Oh the good old days, when were worked hard, but could still have a laugh. Best wishes from George
When I mentioned running on fuel I mean petrol. These tractors from cold will only start with petrol, when warm you can switch to TVO which is cheaper to run.
