congratulations Orion! Max everyone should have a friend of your caliber, you have touched folks for generation to come. From near Princeton, Indiana, thank you so much.
Lol I know well that feeling dad had a 29-30 Farmall McCormack Deereing F-12 and a 39-41 Farmall F-14 with left and right single bottom plows, cultivators drags and sectioned mower and Deereing hay rake on rubber.
Fantastic job of bringing what was a pile of scrap BUT a very special pile of scrap back from the brink! Wonderful tractor and wonderful friends, you guys have no doubt made this man's dream come true and memories of family cannot be easily come by. Great video and thank you.
Holy cow... I am not from a farm family but have grown to love tractors and especially junked tractors that are restored. They are a tribute to American ingenuity and the amazing diverse skills of farmers everywhere. What an amazing accomplishment, well done gentlemen. Thank you for sharing.
A vintage tractor buddy of mine told me, “if it casts a shadow, it can be restored.” And sure enough...WOW! Thanks to the IH Collectors Club Chapter 10! Y’all did an amazing job!! 🚜👍
Ha! I've seen this with old war birds too. I guess it makes me wonder at what point is it no longer the original and rather a recreation of replacement parts?
I remember Orion Samuelson and U.S. farm report being on at 6am in the early 80s as a child, I would have been glad to help out restore his families f20 tractor if I had known about it. Thanks Orion for inspiring the future farmers in america one story at a time that you shared with us while you hosted u.s. farm report.
I know that voice. For 5 years in the mid-1970's I lived in SE Idaho, and the middle of Utah, both areas surrounded by the farming communities. A great voice suited for the radio or the pulpit. Thank you. Narragansett Bay.
She was never junk!! Rule of thumb as long as there was paint on her she still needed to be broke in!! Now that the paint was off it was time to fix her up an rebuild her. She earned it!! That was a great job on rebuild she might have been sitting a while but she was still there too put pack together looks nice.
I guess I'm a gearhead - I think it's beautiful ! When I was 6 we left Florida & went to Greenville, S.C. Mrs. Hammond had a 300 acre farm & a smaller Farmall. They wouldn't let me drive it till I was 14 ...
Hello, thank you for this video as it brings back child hood memories !! I am in my sixties and my dad had an F-20 back in the 1960's ! I can always remember sitting in the tractor seat operating the ratchet tooth throttle rod as my dad hand cranked the engine ! I can also remember that the fuel tank had 2 inputs, one was for kerosene and the other input was for gasoline. If I remember correctly the premise was to fire up the engine on kerosene and once the engine block was hot and then switch over to gasoline. Indeed a beautiful restoration , these tractors were true American Iron !!
Simply fantastic and an almost unbeliiiievably good result! Congrats! Thanks a lot for making taping editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and health to all involved people.
My papa brought one of those back but with a 235 chevy six and 4 speed tractor and 4 speed truck transmissions. it was told it topped 62 mph on the highway and its a narrow front!
This is one of the most heart warming video that i have ever saw ! p. s. I OWN 2 F 20,s just like this one MAINLY BECAUSE MY GRANDAD had one he farmed with ,And Iwas in love with the old tractor when i was 3 years old !
What a great thing to see, we have the great Dorset steam fair near us in Dorset England each year so are used to seeing all types of engines farm steam and conventional, great job.
Up the street from my wife's childhood home and just a few miles from us now in a yard exhibit that's been there long as I can remember sits a Tractor exactly like this one and sits there waiting for its rescue! And its all there ! My Hope's is someday someone will save her from the yard grave and give it the rebuild it deserves!
Excellent job men , she is beautifull . Thank you for sharing it with us !!! My grandpa and my dad had a F-12 , I can rember raking hay with it in the big hole valley Montana , steel Creek ranch wisdom Mont , 😅
I can see this piece of american history the actual f-20 owned by Orion Samuelson being proudly displayed in a farm museum somewhere along with other Orion Samuelson memorabilia.
Nice job. But I don't know how you call it his old tractor. "Most" of the parts came from elsewhere. It can be said his old tractor was a catalyst to a restore.
When those believed to have saved an international harvester F-20 from becoming new steel when those wonder how much was sunk into the restoration of the tractor from a hunk of rusted metal to a crown jewel.
@@daniellibich1376 I'm only curious because I put in over seven thousand dollars in an H that sat for only fourteen years. So don't get me wrong, I had the time of my life restoring it and I am proud of myself. I would do it again in a heartbeat to save another Farmall. I look at it this way. It's still a cheaper hobby than stock cars or boating.
Please check out Marty T on RU-vid He found one up where he lives. Contact him and maybe he can tell you where it is. It looks more complete then this one.
