Traditionally borox was used to "unstain" the collars, cuffs, and pits of white dress shirts. It's still used today at professional dry-cleaning/laundry services. J-Crew used to sell a "J.Crew Collars & Cuffs Stain Bar" that had ingredients listed as 100% vegetable soap, natural borox, and fragrance. Not sure if they still sell it, I have been using the same bar about a decade.

Just came across your channel and love the work you do! Just a quick note: It’s a common misconception that all the first series of retros released in 1994 and in chronological order, but that’s actually not the case. The first Jordans to ever retro were actually the white/cement and black/cement 3s in the Fall of 1994. The “Chicago” and black/red 1s released second in early 1995, with the “Chicago” 2 high and low releasing in mid 1995. Just a fun fact that most people aren’t aware of. Keep up the good work!

I did a restoration on an old pair of PF Flyers and i figured that you can technically unyellow fabric with Saloncare 40. Just lightly mix it with water (just a tiny bit) and apply it on & put it under the sun / lightbox. It took around 3 sessions but i managed to clean it off and retain the clean aged look.

Hey great work as usual. I was wondering if you can decrease wrinkles on the sides of an OG 1985 air Jordan 1? You know above the swooshes they start to wrinkle after a lot of wear and most people actually played basketball in Jordan's back in the day. Their must be a method to get the wri klez out the sides of the shoe and further restore the shape and height of the shoe.
@mrmudd1630
@mrmudd1630 10 месяцев назад
I bought my 94s when I was in high school almost 30 years ago. I’ve worn them less 5 times. I wore them in a high school basketball game and they hurt my feet so bad I changed them at half time. They still look great for 30 years old to me they are priceless a family heirloom. Anyone that’s had these shoes for 30 years should keep them and pass them down you can get money every where you can’t go back in time and buy your shoes and hold them for 30 years again.

Josh Morales mink oil is a good option, it also water proofs the shoe but I don’t know how well it works. I have the spray but angelus also sells the one in a little tin can that you can scoop out witha microfiber cloth to use on ur shoes. Maybe that one is better that’s what I’ve been thinking and it’s inexpensive

@pobio3683

I've been experimenting with old Nikes I've been purchasing. FYI, be careful with the electric scrubber or any brush. Older shoes can be very sensitive and paint will start to scuff. @VintageKicksGallery Is there a way to treat the leather before cleaning? I noticed the leather is quite dry and can split on the edges such as the one on the toe cap.
@VintageKicksGallery

I generally like to use a cleaner with oil prior and then ALWAYS condition after I'm finished. Dry leather = big problems with vintage.

@@VintageKicksGallery It works best on 85s so I'd say try it on those first. Clean the tongue like you normally would and then soak them in hot water. Squeeze out the excess water and then spray the scrubbing bubbles pretty liberally all over the tongue excluding the tag. Work it in a little with a toothbrush and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. I have a pair of these 1994 Jordan 1’s (size 11), same colorway and I bought them in 94’ when I was 14. They are in MINT condition and I’ve worn them like 3 times since I bought them and I don’t know how much I can get for them. I don’t have the original box because it broke down over the years of moving a lot, but the shoes themselves are crazy nice. Anyone have a clue how much they’re worth without the box? I’ve had a couple look at them and offer me like $300-$400 but I know they’re worth far more than that. I’m just trying to figure out pricing because I’m selling the rest of my J collection.
@VintageKicksGallery
@VintageKicksGallery 3 года назад
They're def worth more than that. It really depends on the full condition. In that size they are worth probably 2500-3500 if they were brand new with the box. Without the box and used depends on the condition but they are easily worth 2-3x what you're being offered.

This guy hasn’t said or used any of those expensive shoes to donate to the black lives matter foundation nor George Floyd’s fund. Love your channel but can’t subscribe to someone who stays quiet. I understand I am not vocal about this. I posted this morning after much deliberation to help support Trusted but I truly don't even know where to begin. It truly feels surreal and it wasn't long ago the Mike Brown tragedy occurred here. This shit has to stop but I like many just don't even know where to start. I don't think posting a black square is going to help anything but don't get it twisted- there's no question which side I'm on. This broken system cannot go on.

VintageKicksGallery honestly man I think using your platform to address at least helps so your subscribers know where you stand also man. You could auction a shoe you have a lot of shoes worth a lot. Just auctioning off a shoe the funds will go to either of the foundations and funds I described earlier helps. Or just donating period. Sitting and plotting a way to help doesn’t actually help anything. Everyone’s scared and everyone’s disappointed well a lot of people. But honestly you can do something as well as I. Like I said I love this channel and I feel like for someone who profits off black culture you owe us that at least. Much love. We’re all in this together.
@VintageKicksGallery
@VintageKicksGallery 4 года назад
@@Dhuejohnson8 That's a great idea- I could do the hoodie samples (there are plenty) and sell them to donate all proceeds. I would want it to go to those who have been directly effected vs a large organization. Any thoughts on that? Scared we are- I don't want to leave the house right now. During the Mike Brown protests I was caught in a very unfortunate situation downtown STL (tanks, hummers, etc) and I truly will never forget it (and I got out easy compared to most). This shit just has to stop. Also, I don't think it's truly fair to call this black culture. This is sneaker culture now and we're damn lucky it's a colorblind one! We are untied by love and blind to our race. It's the way all things should be.
