Yes sir it is lots of fun watching you rebuild these knifes sir watch you all the time and at the same time learn from you aswell with everything that you share.
Wow is all I can say on my knife and you never cease to amaze me excellent job looks like a totally different knife. Thank you very much Mr. Kevin (knife doctor) and enjoy the zippo case
Very good 👍 job on both knives. I have a couple of camillus knives that where 2nd and they grind the name of. As always be safe and healthy and God Bless America 🇺🇸 🙏
The ice pick is a great idea Kevin, thanks for that bit of knowledge, cuz I’m always bending and breaking punches. Thanks for the content. And God bless.
Yeah. I was too. The pins are hard to get started sometimes. I tried it and it works very well. Nice and sturdy. Thanks for those kind words! Thanks for watching!
My goodness Doc, Josh should be one happy camper you fully restored that old case knife, it looks so good now! You also brought that old camillus cub scout back too very nice!
Nice job! I’ve got a Boy Scout knife from the 70’s somewhere. It was given to me when I was a Boy Scout. But, I had a Barlow that I preferred to carry. So…..if I can find it, it is likely still in packaging and virtually brand new. Probably at my parents’ somewhere.
Thanks a MILLION for this video. I picked up an Imperial KampKing for $3.00 at a thrift store. Just for practice, I will refurbish it for a bad pin and t to clean it up. Your link to the instructions was just what I needed! Blessings.
I've got a white camillus cub scout knife that I found. It's not much though and I would have never known what kind of knife it was until I started watching your channel doc. Think of it read it correctly the white handle was made from 76 thru 79.
Another great video, a lot learned here. A) got to change Bucky Bears name to Booger Bear. B) things don’t go as planned is why Doc doesn’t want to work on others sentimental knives. C) wish I knew more about vinegar bath pitfalls a couple of weeks ago before I soaked a rusted up garden tool box Old Hickory slicer for 2 or 3 days. Vinegar will EAT METAL if left too long! Thanks for the class again Doc! I hope you can learn the double pin method so you can put the bells back on that you like.
Never heard of using vinegar to clean knives. I only use alcohol if needed after using with food or something. I do use the acid from vegetables and fruits to give all my carbon steel blades designs, which is fun for me. It is no where near as harsh as using vinegar. I only use vinegar on stains, like toilets and showers.
They grind the tang stamps down so the manufacturer can sell the knife as a factory second. All the knife would normally have would be small blemishes but quality control was a lot tighter back in those days.
I picked up a Remington Bullet R4353 (circa 1920-1930) in a pawn shop today. Unfortunately it has a wounded blade. Probably be hard to find a replacement donor.
More good work Kevin. Can I ask which brand or where you buy your wire brushes you use in your dremmel from. The reason I ask is every one I have bought just spit wires the whole time in use. Regards,
Hello Mr Kevin would you mind sharing where you get your pin material at for replacing the pins. Its been a few days but feeling better so I wanted to thank you sir for a cool informative video. Have a fantastic day
I have the same question these pins seem to be between 3/32 and 5/64…. I have mine all cleaned up and ready to pin together. Those blue handles are delicate….buffing with my dremel ate away at it! Gotta be careful!
Great work doc been doing the same thing this morning re building an old Sheffield knife , nice to see how we all re build differently, keep up the great work 👊
@@theknifedoctor ok thanks for your service you are the only RU-vid creator that I have notifications on because you make the best videos and tough me a lot about knives.
