2 years already! How long have I been watching this channel? Seems like last week Alcoa's were bought for the 5500 for hitting 5k subs. Looks great Sam.
Man I did not expect you to drop Taylor Ray’s name in here! Dude is a great builder and has some sick drift cars. Y’all have two of my favorite channels!
Poetry in motion,"that is one bad grandma" can't wait to here it pulling a trailor w a load on.now you gotta bring Callahan , boon and Taylor out to let grandma take it for a scoot.congrats , happy st Patrick's day say hey to v-belt👍🏻🇺🇸
Hey Sam i've been watching your video's the past 3 day's. Great! finished Project's on your Dodge Cummins truck's. I'm Subscribed to your channel. My Uncle Owned a Really nice 2nd Gen 1997 100% Stock besides new axle bearings bushings brakes, paint on hood & roof. He bought the truck brand new in Port Alberni British Columbia. I got my license for the second time early this year. I really wanted to buy his truck. Couldn't get it unfortunately. He sold it for $10,000. I got to see the truck only once in my life when i was 12 years old. I got a another cummins story for ya that i will comment on your white 2nd gen truck towing video. Cheers later. Nick from Van Isl. B.C. Canada
Truck turned out awesome! Perty much built my dream truck. 2nd gen, 12 valve, cummins, 6 speed manual, flatbed, dually, brush guard, everything about that really! Even the color, would like a black, grey, or white truck
Congrats Sam!! Nice to see you push through and finish this project. Says a lot about your integrity and pursuit of quality. Has Grandma seen it yet? Love to know her reaction.
dude, you have outdone yourself! that is so sharp, so clean, looks awesome, the attention to detail is impressive. love the running lights on those mirrors, i would love that on my ram. mine are just turn signals. amazing job, you should be proud
I love that truck! But you do know that the outside dually tires are going to throw mud and rocks all over the truck..Right? Might need to fabricate a wheel-well extensions with mudflaps on the cab side if it starts chipping the paint on the cab.
Yeah Buddy, that turned out great, can’t wait for another Grandma smiling video. I’ve followed your channel for a while now and this series on Grandmas truck build has been my favorite....Well done Sam and thanks for sharing👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Sam grandma’s truck is awesome I think she’s a keeper lol. What a great job you’ve done with it she would be happy. Love the channel keep up the good work and stay safe out there.
That’s a great story and an awesome truck it definitely don’t look like grandma’s truck anymore but it’s money and time well spent to bring her back I hope it stays in the family and maybe someday you can pass it on to your son
Man I just saved big time on those bumpers. They are on sale right now. With your discount and their sale it saved me $850. Basically got the rear bumper free. Thanks and awesome work you do!
Are you going to take it over to show grandma and let her drive it or take a ride in it not trying to get into anything personal just curious and that truck turned out awesome
I am currently in this predicament with my 2nd gen. Its been sitting for about 3 years. Needs a lot of work but is worth saving. One thing I don't get is it was built in 4/00 but is titled as an '01? Built in U.S. not Mexico. 3500 dually 24 valve, stage 3 billet ATS trans. 410 gears in rear. Front drive shaft dropped because still has 373 in front diff.. Needs Vp44, want to replace factory fuel tank with a 52 gallon that supposed to fit there. Go with Power flow pump system, ATS turbo system and exhaust manifold and downpipe. Needs heater core and a.c. condensor replaced.,...at 66 its more than I can handle or know how. So how bout trading me for one of your finished projects?
Ya did good Sam. I got 20 inch Fuel Mavericks and 12.50s on my 06 g56 dually would be wicked on that truck love your truck content congrats on the baby and all your my favorite channel. Keep it coming 👍👍
Nice job dude! I am in almost the exact same situation as you only maybe not nearly as bad as far as the engine and drive train go. My father-in-law passed last month. My brother-in-law inherited his 2019 Dodge Ram 2500. I inherited his 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 he parked in the cow pasture when he bought the 2019 Dodge. Mechanically the only thing wrong with it is the AC won't turn on and is stuck on heat due to the blend door being broke. The engine fired on the first crank and it has a full tank of diesel in it. It only has 130K miles on the truck. Runs perfect. Now the rest of it is as bad if not worse than yours. The truck never saw a car wash or vacuum cleaner until I took it yesterday. The bed and cab were stacked with all kinds of junk. It has been sitting for 4 years with the back glass broken out. The thing was and still is totally nasty inside even after me scrubbing on it for hours at the car wash yesterday. Fed them a whole plastic baggy full of quarters and I am probably half way done. The bed on the truck is pretty beat up and I love how you solved that problem with the work bed and fixed the front end with the cattle guard. I didn't know you could turn a 2500 into a dually 3500. WOW! I would love to get mine restored as nice as yours but I doubt I will take it that far.
LOVE it!! A proper cowboy caddy .them fuel freaks gotta be just squirming to see a lube a filner on that fass setup. I say kudos! And the best word of this build is , doo hickey. Was my granny's fave word next to whatchacallit. Mine was from MN and bless your granny and again great build
You built basically what I want to do with my next truck. I don't care if its gas or diesel, but I want a dually with extended cab and flatbed. I honestly don't even mind if its dodge, chevy, or ford. we will see what happens in the future. but grandma's truck looks amazing!
Some time ago back in like 2017/18 my grandfather had a mint Dodge 3500 dually with an original engine and bed that he sold. After I found out i was really upset cause he always said that would be my truck.
I bought a 1995 3500 cab and chassis in November 1994 built bed myself and it has 64000 original miles still a good truck but the steering has always been loose enjoyed the video
I wish my dad didnt give away his old 1987 stingray cuddy cabin boat I would have tinkered on it it would have been a learning curve he bought the boat when we moved in where we were at the boat was intended as a father and son project but he never got around to it he got rid of it summer of 2017 it also sucks because that model boat is supposedly rare also only thing I have left to remember the boat that sat is the trailer licence plate I should start hounding him for his 07 Pontiac g5 which he parked in a tent after it blew the engine post rebuild
Nice job have you ever considered putting an Allison transmission in one of your rams. I've been watching videos on it and considering it with my 2007 cab and chassis. The g56 transmission has been the weak point of that truck.
Should make the old overdrive button your profile switch if you put in a tuner lol. Overdrive becomes fun mode! Great job on the truck, looks better than my 18'!
When I started watching this I thought it was me talking. The only difference is that my grandma’s 98 2500 just had the shop fall in due to snow load and landed on the truck that only has 80,000 miles. She is giving it to me and I plan on restoring it.
Sorry not sorry. Your talking about this and that costing so much money, but it’s grandma’s truck it’s worth every penny you spent on fixing it Great job!!!
I have been waiting for this video!! Excellent job Sam- I am sure your grandma will be happy and proud of all the work you put it and how the truck turned out!!!!
Looks awesome bud! Love the color combo you went with and that it’s now a dually! Congrats I wish many more enjoyable miles in a truck that’s part of your childhood and your family!
Trash transmission choice the engine and diffs are are bullet proof should have choose the zf6 theirs complete conversion kits that come with the cut in weld in floor boards the cross members plug and play harness manual cluster manual plastic piece around the steering column hell even gear oil gaskets and short throw shifter down to the sound denting foam inbetween the boot and floor someone that worked at the ford plant couldn’t even tell you that it didn’t come a manual the only telling my 12v zf6 conversion is the actual shift knob because the location of reverse and what the vin number says for the build sheet
Dude that helped you film the truck seems very comfortable in front of the camera does he also have a channel? Update two seconds later you say I’m an operator lol
Not hating on the final product, but that truck was in my idea of perfect condition beforehand, minus the red door. Especially being a single rear wheel with stock bed. I’m glad you have that truck, and did what you wanted with it. That’s a forever truck. I wish I had one of my grandpa’s old trucks…my grandma only drove Buicks…and that one ford taurus that she drove through her house…
@@internet_internet it’s not a dually anymore. I took those off quick. But I have several regular bed trucks all stock. GMAs truck needed a flat bed. She always wanted the flat bed on her truck. Check out my other builds and my Samson Andrew channel for classics
