Crystalized Adhesive/ Poly finish Only! Mineral spirits, Turpentine and xylene will remove the dried adhesive. just keep it wet and give 30 minutes to reabsorb the solvents (soften) I have encountered this thousands of times on cargo trucks. with poly finished. Single stage poly finished need to be constantly monitored. Cheers
It was a piece of history... would have clear coated it at 0:50. Now it's just another shiny boring old Les Paul copy. ;) Only sort of half joking here, the stickers and tape abuse were very punk and it was indeed "a look". Nice restoration though.
Since seeing your restoration of this guitar I did a little searching online and found the Stance Punks are a totally amazing band. A new favorite for me so I have been enjoying a lot of their stuff on RU-vid. Bass player and guitarist both used tape on their straps but a bit more subtly than on this guitar. Hopefully your restoration here was a fan guitar and not one of Katsuda Kinya's early guitars because that would have been really cool to have intact. The Stance Punks have some great MTV type videos on RU-vid and their live shows are off the charts. Here are just two examples but don't limit yourself to just these as they continue to have the same over the top sound and energy even a decade later and I would love to find some of their really early stuff.
