Welcome back to our channel! Today, we have a special project: restoring a vintage Movado watch in full gold. This elegant timepiece has seen better days, but we’re going to bring it back to life. Let’s get started!
First, let’s take a close look at the watch. We’ll inspect the case, dial, hands, and movement. The case shows signs of wear and scratches, the dial has aged, and the movement needs servicing. We’ll document all the issues before we begin the restoration process.
Carefully, we’ll start disassembling the watch. Using precision tools, we’ll remove the case back, movement, dial, hands, and crystal. It’s important to keep all parts organized and safe.
Next, we’ll clean all the components. We’ll use a ultrasonic cleaner for the movement parts and a gentle solution for the dial and hands. The gold case and bracelet will be cleaned using a special gold-safe cleaner.
Once cleaned, we’ll polish the gold case. Using a compound designed for gold, we’ll carefully remove scratches and restore the shine. This step requires patience to avoid over-polishing.
Now, we’ll service the movement. We’ll disassemble it, clean each component, replace any worn parts, and reassemble it. Proper lubrication is essential for the movement to run smoothly.
With the movement serviced, we’ll start reassembling the watch. We’ll place the dial and hands back on the movement, install the movement into the case, and secure the case back. Ensuring everything fits perfectly is crucial.
Finally, we’ll give the watch one last polish and inspect it thoroughly. We’ll check the timekeeping accuracy and ensure the watch is functioning correctly. The restored watch should look as close to new as possible.
And there you have it, a beautifully restored vintage Movado watch in full gold! We hope you enjoyed watching this restoration process. If you did, please give this video a thumbs up and subscribe for more watch restorations. Thanks for watching!
