you should check out a 7th/8th generation Honda accord coupe EX-L with the six speed. For a cheap car it has a lot more to offer than most people know.
You guys need a wrench everyday UNIFORM with work boots. Trust me, it will make a diference for your new channel. Shorts and loafers is not the best image especially for a car shop. Awesome work guys! Congrats on the new channel project.
All Mini guys black gloss wrap their chrome. I'm doing it as soon as I can, and everyone in my local Mini club has done it if they didn't get the black trim anyway.
Something I noticed you may want to point out. When replacing bulbs you really should not touch the bulb itself with your bare hands. The oil from your hands can cause the bulb to over heat and fail.
Not much of an issue with normal bulbs in tail and side lights - however, if Halogen (like incorrectly stated in the vid) then yes, you should avoid touching the special glass as the acid in the fingerprint can weaken the glass over time. No harm however to clean any grime off the bulbs even if you're not changing it.
Loving the Mini Cooper S first episode of returning it to standard, I daily drive a custom 2008 JCW edition which I will add is the most fun car I’ve driven and owned, yeah they do have their little niggles and problems but one hell of a fun car! Smiles per mile tops the charts! Keep this channel going with daily drivers flipping for a small profit, that’s what us every day Joes want to see! It’s in our grasp! 👍🏼😊
I disconnect my batteries on my small fleet of Hoopties to keep the charge in them. So a 10mm for the terminals is always needed. I have recently found that the Hotwheels Tooligan car can easily be modified into a 10mm with a bit of filing. A cheap keyring ring in the front wheel arch and you have a spanner keyring for each set of keys
Yes yes guys make this the main show for a bit....... the world needs a show that's able to go up against the wheeler dealers and MCM'S of the world.... this could be it guys
This series should be renamed “How to disrespect a well-modified piece of automotive art”... No joke, I actually felt a bit offended by this video but eh, you kind of have a point on sales appeal given the “commuter” demographic...it is what it is lol
Yeah but either way if you like the car, other like-minded mini owners, or BMW owners, or whatever owners of tuned cars (subaru I'm looking at you...), will also appreciate the work put into it....so dont sell it back to the dealership. It ain't worth grabbing all of the invoices for parts + labor if they're barely going to budge just to give you like less than $800 on anywhere from $1500-3k+ of mods that werent improperly installed or detrimental to the cars overall lifespan in general...sell it to a private party. Theres so many damn fb car groups nowadays...you pop something on there that wasnt driven to absolute shit & you'll be getting hit up from the second it was posted...
DrScopeify In all actuality, I would (and have) purchased used cars before that already had some mods done...tasteful mods if you will. Things like coilovers, up-sized rims/tires (got my own set of wheels afterwards though), exhaust, intake...the basics really, which left me budget room to purchase other mods that I otherwise wouldn’t have most likely been able to afford. Now, I’m not going to buy a car that has had cheap mods, been heavily modded, has had tinkering done to the ecu, or is already a track car basically...but a few basic quality mods isn’t something I’m going to scoff at. In addition to that, many people don’t have a problem with purchasing classic cars, trucks, or Jeeps that have already seen some work done to them...even those that purchase JDM imports here in the US will happily import a car that has seen some work go into them. ...however, many in the car enthusiast community are not like that, and most of general society has a negative opinion when it comes to the concept of *car* modifications...mostly due to ignorance, image, or cultural acceptance. Whether it’s right or wrong isn’t the point though, it’s just one of those things where it is what it is in a world of constantly clashing opinions, perspectives, and beliefs. There is always the right customer for the right product...the trick is in locating that right customer.
My Dad always said no matter how much money you spend modifying your car. It will never add value to a car compared to stock. In fact most used car buyers prefers to buy stock unmodified factory spec cars. You’ll have to find a special type of buyer to like your custom wheels, lowered stance and aftermarket exhaust. Since people have varying difference in taste.
Only partially true if I'm selling my supercharged brz for 25grand and someone hits me up for 18k and I tell them no and they piss and moan about other stock ones for way cheaper theres a reason why your coming after my car and not the stock one, you want the after market goodies on it usually costing 5-15grand of extras and your trying to get them for free, cant wrap up the whole Car market into one big category
Jordan Zapfe That’s why I said you need a special type of buyer for your custom modified BRZ that would meet your valuation. Your car will have to sit for a while unsold, until you find that right buyer, who like exactly what you did with the car. Which frankly is quite rare. People who modify their own cars tend to customize it based on their own taste. If they find something custom they don’t like. It means they’ll have to spend money to replace it. So it doesn’t make sense for them to pay extra for that aftermarket part, they’ll just remove anyway.
Hey Tavarish, been watching your other channel for a little while now, nice content. Very refreshing having Andrew on the channel, nothing like having a buddy help with any project, break a leg guys! 🧔🏻👨🏻🦲🚗
Mini and BMW canbus system can be programmed in the ecu coding to stop the warning lights and errors. LEDs are a real good thing to have lol. Make a huge change.
Yes! If I wanted to buy this and found that they removed LEDs and reinstalled stock ones, I’d call them morons and offer less because now I have to buy new LEDs.
Thank you for a great video guys. Freddie as much as I love your usual exotic rebuild this channel reflects more my price range 😔 and something I can relate too. As usual I will be looking forward to all your videos.
Hey guys. Just had to say congratulations on the new show. Enjoyed it immensely. Excellent production, sound, editing, you name it. Glad to see you guys making moves. Looking forward to the next format show of the roadtrips, rallys or "spirited runs" you guys will be going on. Also, in regards to the Ferrari, i don't think people would mind any live searches for parts you are trying to source. These are things you'll be doing anyway (the parts searches) so why not have a camera rolling at least partially, documenting the process. Don't miss content opportunities such as these because i'm certain i can't be the only one with this curiosity. Best wishes
Subbed to this channel just for the return of AOTF, used to read about these all the time on Jalopnik and APiDA Online, glad to see it make a comeback!
Of the 20 or so cars I've owned, my 2005 mini cooper S was the most fun. Far and away the least reliable car I've ever owned, but easily the most fun. It was an abusive relationship.
@@lessemo I liked it alot more personally. The supercharger whine was great with an aftermarket intake and a smaller pulley. The chassis felt amazingly balanced for the FWD car. I could chuck it hard into corners and it would rotate. The gearbox was one of my favorites. Not a terribly fast car, you really had to ring it's neck to get it to speed, but the Miata was the same way. I only have NA Miata driving experience, but I liked my mini more. (When it was driving and not pissing oil/coolant/ps fluid or shredding crank pulleys, water pump gears, etc etc etc)
Having both NB and NC Miata experience I would still take a R53 Mini as a second car. If it has to be an only car go with the Miata because the Mini has terrible reliability.
Good job , good show Ive fliped millions of fine autos over the years . Have not finished vid. yet But The best o.e.m.wheel & tire package means everything . When driving , looks & presenting a car to potential buyers. Thanks
Great job guys, I've been following Tavarish for a while now and I've really enjoyed his videos. This is really good stuff! Andrew is a natural & I can't wait to see what happens next with the Cooper!
From a used car dealer who frequently sells minis all the aesthetic stuff should have stayed. Exhaust and lights needed addressing but all the blacked trim wouldn’t have hurt if anything it would have helped.
Turns out a previous mechanic did an attrotious job of reassembling the front end of my same-era mini, was gonna fork out for someone to sort it out for me, but seeing how simple some bits are take apart and reassemble, perhaps I could give it a shot myself... 🤔 Love the new format, hope it grows as big as your other projects
As a long-term Mini owner, I leave as many parts of the front out as possible. It saves time during disassembly/reassembly every time something breaks.
Tavarish and Sandman. I like the formula yall got here. Andrew is a great addition, always liked him from the podcast clips you post. Anyone else in favor of "The Sandman" for Andrew?
Was watching vgg and Jared helped Derek get independence ready so naturally a fella subscribed and is now watching all your videos from beginning to end
Great work, look forward to the next one. Reminds of another car flipping show before it went all Hollywood and forgot it was supposed to be about repairing cars.
Love the new channel, great content. I hope Andrew is staying as he is great and top banter between you. If you want constructive feedback you could really use some diffusers for your lighting or reduce the intensity as its quite harsh in a few shots. Keep up the good work :)
As a Mini Cooper owner this made me a little sad, but I've had to replace all the parts you showed because the aftermarket parts I got weren't that good.
That’s just great. Absolutely enjoyable. Andrew seem to be a great guy and I totally love the humor bits. Well done folks! Also Tovarish seem to be enjoying the hell of Peter McKinnon videos or some other youtubers who lean hard on b-roll explanation and use. Keep it up
since you didn't buy a flip car, you guys should make this more realistic for the low budget guys and only use the mini money for the next project.?. maybe sell the parts you guys removed to help?
I think it’s perfect the way it is. I love modified minis. you can’t get the same go cart experience from a Cooper S unless you import a cappuccino or buy a 500. neither of those cars have the styling or the tuning capabilities of a mini S. The tow hook, lowing springs, and XXR wheels make the car look great. It needs a muffler and that’s about it
Very very impressed with this episode, very polished look and fantastic production. Andrew is great on camera, and the humour throughout is perfect. Been waiting a long time for this and it surpassed all expectations. I cant wait for the next episodes. This is going to be a big hit guys!
Yeah, Andrew's humour is on point. Nothing outrageous or try hard, he's just a funny dude and doesn't take himself too seriously. Looking forward to more of these two working together.
I think the black wrap over chrome was well done and could have stayed on, but I understand you're trying to go 100% stock. Great new channel can't wait to see how it grows. You should do a Jeep or lifted truck next, that would be fun
Hey Tavarish, not sure if you knew but on many modern cars you can change the type of bulb that is detected in the cars computer. On my '13 Ford it's pretty easy to do with a program called Focccus, and I can manually select whether I am using a halogen bulb or LED. Might be a better option for some out there and will allow the use of LED bulbs with a functioning bulb out indicator.
I liked the modified look of Andrews Mini Cooper S. It looked way better than stock! And why not install canbus compatible LED bulbs. The aftermarket headlamps also were great! I can understand that the exhaust may needs to be replaced. Actually, the problem with that car is it’s a girls car to begin with. And stock with installed eye lashes will probably flip the car even though it is ever so ugly that way.
A new overview on Wheeler Dealers, one might say. I like that. I feel we are missing the joy of bringing our cars to former glory. Already a subscriber!!
Like the new channel! TIP: You should get a plastic repair kit (like Plastex or similar) and repair the broken plastic tab on the hood scoop. Keep wrenching!
Good to see my daily/track car on a great channel Got an R56, if you can talk about the timing distribution chain issues on the N14 engines it would be great for people who want one, so they don’t end up blowing up their engine for not checking the oil level If you can do a pros and cons of the mechanicsl part of the cars It will be much appreciate 😀👍
I think I might start a Go Fund Me page to get Andrew an emergency melanin transfusion....hows does this guy not spontaneously combust in the Florida sun?
Love your content brother and no hate stemming from this comment but after selling these fun little machines for 4 Year’s the second gens are very popular for the mcs purists....those head lamp and tail lamp bezels are a factory/dio option (dealer installed option) and always sell better with them esp with his exterior color...great to ditch the wrap but I would’ve painted them black and cleared them etc...looks like he did a third gen conversion for the over all headlamps...but looks like you put the base halogens in...many of the mcs had the hid lamps in them so not sure what that vin decodes...those exhausts are louder than you think due too the nature of them having a very efficient design...dps on these are cake to do....make sure to check the timing chain tensioner..water pump..valve cover gasket...coil packs and plugs...pcv valve..if she’s lacking a smooth idle and initial pull walnut blast her...it’s a bmw motor and contrary to many is a great motor with great potential for its size (n14) to make power...we have had many daily’s dyno at least 250 wheel and many with almost 300 with just fbo ‘s and tune with up to date maint....if its a manual the getrag is good for over 400 but may want to clutch it if drifting over 300 bhp...otherwise keep up the great work and much respect you’re an icon bro!
