Hiii its Eve!! Im so so happy how my pony turned outt!! It looks amazing !! You are so so talented and cant wait to see moreee videos like this ❤❤❤thank you so much!!! You are amazing!!
Sorry For that. Did you have a special name for "Starshine"? My ponies all got nicknames. 😅 I feel too crazy for my "Tortie" a smurf or "Tine" my sisters best friend. 😅
My mom got rid of all my toys once I got to highschool. I wasn't allowed to keep anything. It's so nice to see people getting their childhood friends restored back to their former glory. I love watching these special things getting fixed up : 3
I had a similar experience with my mother, except I left to live with my father when I was 11 after years of neglect and abuse from her so she threw out ALL of my childhood belongings.. Toys, clothes, you name it. I have a hobby of finding my favorite childhood toys at thrift stores! I don’t plan to have children, but if I ever did have a little girl, I would probably give them to her to love and cherish. ❤
my mom didn't get rid of mine, but she definitely always tells me to. i dont mind getting rid of some, but im always keeping my ponies ❤ i just got some blythe dolls too haha and apparently, 17 is 'too old' for toys, which i dont agree 😋💕
The love and care you put into these restorations is unmatched. Even though I was a boy, born in 1980, I loved My Little Pony. I used to steal my sister's ponies to play with them. I don't have any old toys, but your videos make me so nostalgic I've been thinking of looking for a vintage pony just to relive some happy memories.
Thrift stores and yard sales are usually where I find vintage ponies! They aren’t always in the best shape, but just a wash and a brush can do amazing things!
I'm a wig stylist, and the best way to get that super fluffy synthetic hair is by crimping it! Basically you want to crimp the hair (turn the heat setting on the crimper as high as you can without melting the hair) and then brush through it with a round brush to remove any crimp marks while retaining the fluffy texture. Hope that helps (: There's some good tutorials on youtube and tiktok on how to achieve this if you look for cosplay wig tutorials!
Also, the hair you were sent to rehair the pony with looks like braiding hair, so you can always search for that if you want hair that comes already textured!
The hair reminds me of very finely crimped nylon! Cosplayers use the technique to make fluffy and very stylized wigs! There are a few tutorials on youtube about the process, but thats what the hair looks like from just a visual standpoint! It also could be a kind of textured kanekalon? the type of hair extensions some people use for braiding and elaborate hair styles! But to me personally, as a cosplayer and customizer, the hair looks like crimped nylon! Basically, the process is just a lot of delicate small sections of hair crimped very finely then brushed out to give a wavy/textured finish to the normally very smooth and slick nylon. In the end, it ends up being much easier to style and ends up looking fuller over all! I would def look into it since you really liked that hair texture!
I love hearing your little voice-over mistakes and little miswords and little hype-up moments for yourself. You don't edit yourself down until you're picturesque and "perfect".... you are just, you. And it is delightful and comforting to listen to you because you are so human. Don't let anyone ever tell you you aren't perfect just the way you are.
i think that's the most glue i've ever seen inside a pony! you did an amazing job breathing life back into her, keeping aspects of the old while also introducing a fresh and personal touch. i'm sure her owner is so proud to be able to call her their own
What a lovely thing you do for your viewers. You are kind and caring and I could watch your content all day. I am sure Evelyn will have many more years of joy with Starshine. Thank you for sharing this lovely restoration.
OMG I was born 1993 in Germany and I remember playing with the first generation MLPs!! Heaven knows where these ponies are now bc my family gifted all toys to other families.
this is probably my favorite pony you've restored! the colors are just gorgeous, and the white body and simple symbol help those colors to not look too busy. a beautiful pony, and a wonderful restoration.
Thats amazing! We were talking about Starshine in the discord and now we are blessed with a new vid, it's Starshine! Amazing vid as alwsys Ysela! 🎉 she looks beautiful
As soon as you took her out of the packaging I fell in love with that pony. You made her look beautiful again and I feel the pastel colored hair is so much better than the original bright colored hair. I googled images of this pony and saw there were two of them. The other version was a prancing pony. I much prefer this demure little beauty. What a wonderful job you did with her.
Amazing!!! I love your videos and how you care so much not only about the toys, but the people that are connected to them as well! The sharing of Miss Evelyn's story really puts into perspective how different things were for people around the world during those times. Can you imagine? A family going to a completely different country and finding the prettiest one thing that would make their little girl happy. This is a beautiful story of family coming together, and her joy with having this pretty little pony spread to her entire family. Thank you so much for sharing!
What a lovely pony this Starshine turned out to be! I actually prefer this colour palette for the main and tail, compared to the original. It has a soft, aurora borealis vibe to it. As for your tattoo, is it a hippocamp?
Oh, what a nice job, the colors are so beautiful ! I didn't notice before that we could safely put peroxide on the symbols and eyes. Did you ever try to put some on a glittery cutie mark ? My rainbow Sunlight has mold just in the middle of it, and I don't know how to help that babe without destroying the paint. 🤔 And also, the hair is so cool, it's new, but with a vintage "less shiny" look. Really nice.
you are such a amazing person helping restore childhood toys and memories along with them :D (ps that giraffe water cup thing is adorable) also what is the name of your tuxedo kitty
This was probably my favorite look so far, especially the mane! The colors are gorgeous and the way you styled it is perfect, love the ear poking out!!
Been watching your channel for a long time now and I absolutely love your restorations!!! Makes me wish I had access to some of my old MLP toys to get restored.
I love this! ❤️ My cousin had the My Little ponies, not me. 1980s first generation she has or had, not sure. Remember having literally no interest in them because she had real horses the actual animal so, plastic vs. The live action version preferred the real life horses, 💩 and all. Best memory trying to teach myself to horseback ride on my own no saddle (come from a figure it out yourself fam) & off goes Thunder through a forest learning to dismount via tree branch. Be sure to fall loosely. Lessons My Little Pony plastic toys didn't offer. What I love is you do it for free, inspiring others, and uplift the other person who had a fond memory to something you refresh giving it a new "life" another chapter. That is what I love about this. It's a style of being a person to another person with consent & context, not exploitation, sharing skills together. Glad it popped up! God bless.
I have so many ponies from my childhood, and a few i bought later as an adult. They're currently tucked away in a box in my closet, but once i finish painting my walls I want to put up some shelves, get my ponies all clened up, and then display them ❤
I know you're always worried about the music, but you nailed it this time! It sounded like falling stars (perfect for this pony)! Anyway I love that you restore vintage toys, explain the backstory of them, both the person and the lore if possible, and brighten our day with your wonderful hobby. You're as passionate about it as I am with my cross stitching (my hobby!) and from one crafter to another, I respect how much effort you use to share it with the world!
So beautiful! You might be able to get that kind of hair texture by using a crimper on the hair and then brushing out the waves. Cosplayers use this technique to make fluffier wigs.
wow, another amazing pony glow-up Yisela❤ So glad Starshine has another chance to.. shine 😄Also, so happy for Evelyn, I know the feeling when restored pony comes back to you, pure joy ❤
This type of hair (Sadly I don't know what kind it is either) seems to hold the curls very well. The pony turned out amazing and really shines. It's like it got a new life. I'm so happy for Evelyn and Starshine. Sidenote: I really liked the music as well. It seemed to suit the restoration of this pony very well and was really relaxing. Thank you for doing such great work and greetings to your cats.
Talk about nostalgia! My first My Little Pony was Blossom. I also had Starshine and Sunbeam and a bunch of others I can’t remember their names. I can still smell the plastic! My mom and Grandmère bought me a carry case that was pink and resembled horse stalls. I remember having plastic pony shoes/slippers. Also had the Cloud ☁️ Rainbow 🌈 Shower. I’m not ashamed to say that I played with them until I was 12! Back when kids could be kids ❤ thank you for this video…it made me smile 😊
I know you've probably already answered this before, but where do you get your music from? Is it the RU-vid Audio Library? Or do you use another source for royalty free music? Thanks!
I don’t have much interest in repairing old toys but this was fascinating to watch. I subbed because you do this for your subscribers for free and I don’t know anyone else who would do that, you seem like a good person. A lot of people with toys in this condition are older people with a small income and couldnt afford to pay to get their toys fixed, so I’m sure it means a lot.
I tried figuring out what the tattoo meant and failed. I know one triangle with a line across and down means create, but that's not the same. Even tried looking it up and found nothing! Gonna be real curious to see what it means ^^
That hair and its texture reminds me a lot of kanekalon braiding hair! That might actually be what it is, I’d look into if you’re interested in this specific hair type!
i’m more than sure the hair in question has that texture because it’s kanekalon braiding hair. it comes in so many colors but as someone who’s all too familiar with it, i will say the way it can tangle is very irritating though. i hope this helps and i love your videos 🩷
That hair is a thing that I use for my cosplay wigs. If you search for braiding hair you will find a lot of versions. But you can turn your nylon hair into these with a hair crimper ( that iron with teeth) and a hair iron. Also, beautiful work my dear.
She looks so lovely! What kind of hair was that (did I miss it?) Also what causes the pink spots on ponies? I always thought it was highlighter but now I'm not sure!
I know that for cosplay, you crimp the hair with a mini hair crimper, which is like an iron with like zig zag pattern on each plate It adds volume if you do only the inside portions of the hair and then keep the outside smooth for smooth aesthetics. That might be close to what you're looking for?
you're a beautiful person with a beautiful heart. i hope all goes well for you and this channel. can't wait to see more. i love people who do restorations because they're truly passionate about it.
I think the hair may be 'festival hair'? it's extensions used to braid into real hair for festivals for a colourful look! perhaps something to look into to purchase more colours for future ponies! :)
I love you videos i always wanted a g1 my little pony. I was a 90’s kid but they must have been out of my families price range at the time. Maybe i will buy an old one and try fix it up like you do 🥰 they are so sweet and beautiful.
Your videos always cheer me up! I love what you're able to do ^^ wishing you lots of rest and cooler times/lots of icecream and melon during these heat waves. Excited for the next project!
another lovely video :D i think if you wanted to try to mimic that hair texture, maybe you could try using a small hair crimper? i suggest looking at videos of cosplay wig makers, since they do that technique a lot to get rid of shine and add texture!! :D good luck!!
Very beautiful work as always!! I also really want to curl my Starshine's hair but I'm so scared of messing it up! I only bought her this year so she's not My old toy, but I still love her!
This is so sweet and incredible to watch! ☺️ I have a question about a ‘vintage’ toy. It’s also a little pony from the 1980’s that glows in the dark. Even after all this time, it Still glows! Any idea what sort of material they made it from? 😅
