Mate, I'm liking this new site, I'm wondering if a soft paint like the evo 9 tarmac black would still buff up the same cause I'd be nervous putting a buffer to it. You could test some cheapo ceramic coats, turtle, cmx, meguiars hybrid and compare them to that one you buy online, get a panel then stick up on your roof for a couple of weeks and see what happens

Thanks Jethro, the Evo 9 paint would be similar to my Evo X I would assume so super easy get the swirls out but harder to finish to perfection as the paint is so soft you need a softer pad and polish to finish after cutting. The best thing to do is just try the least aggressive combo at the start and work your way up so a soft pad and a finishing polish as the first step and see if that works before even attempting to use a cutting compound

As for the testing, I will definitely be doing that and already have some of those products to test, but against a real ceramic coating it's not a fair test as the spray ceramics are meant to last months where as the real ceramic bottle will last years but maybe be I can do that as a long term test and show the differences
