At the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, we do our best to work toward solutions to the homeless crisis in our county. That’s why, several years ago, we created the Homeless Outreach and Programs Engagement, or HOPE team, for short.
Over the course of the year, HOPE team deputies worked with Danny, a man experiencing chronic homelessness, to get him a job and find stable housing. On this day, Danny received the keys to his new place, and the HOPE team was there to help him get settled in and turn this house into a home.
This is exactly what our HOPE team is all about -- building relationships and connecting people to services in East Multnomah County. We will continue to work toward reducing homelessness and addressing livability issues in the communities we serve.
