@@acydburn1714 Yeah, my friend pulled out his pump action shotgun to show me last month and it was rusted terrible. I keep a schedule to oil Everything (including loose parts and spare parts) every 6 months. Many people say that Mobil 1 synthetic is excellent for rust prevention. It's what I use and have been for years now (since I had parts that went a couple years and didn't rust with it). I used non-synthetic once though it the parts turned gold. (I think it looks like gold rust. It's extremely fine and not any kind of pitting at all, but is more like the bluing kind of rust formation).

How do you explain the presence of rust on a polymer frame gun that also had its stainless steel slide and barrel coated in Armornite (not metal bluing) to prevent rust while at the same time the smaller uncoated steel components are rust free? Despite the heavy “corrosion” you can still see the black coating on the slide and barrel, indicating that the rust-protective coating is still intact, and only comes off once scrubbed with the wire brush. Also how about the clean components dipped in Evapo-rust, as evidenced by the clean liquid that pours out? Rusted components dipped in Evapo-rust leave the liquid looking black and brown, not Mountain Dew green. I call BS here.

Have even purchased brand new parts and left them in the bag, only to need them weeks to a couple months later and see that they've rusted. Usually there's finger prints rusted into the parts. Really pisses me off (and companies like Ruger, Midway and Brownell's will not replace rusted parts, even if they're still in the original, sealed, unopened bag/container). I love rebuilding older things like that. The LASER not working can only be two things. The LASER diode itself, or the circuit feeding the LASER diode. You're cool! Most of all, take care of yourself. The way you used the hammer on a loaded gun made the hairs on my back stand on end. :) As for the duct tape. I think his magazine got wobbly.

He most likely did this to it himself for a vid. All the restoration vids on stuff like this do it. The only real ones are the antique restorations where it's proven where they got it from.

Either somone found it somewhere, or he left it out buried on purpose for vid. Or magnet fishing... If found it probably is a stolen gun or murder weapon..

If the firearm still had a round in the chamber why did you keep sweeping your hand in front of the muzzle especially after turning off the safety?

0:50 I was nervous for you when you passed your hand in front of the muzzle several times starting here, knowing there is a round in the chamber especially when just prior to this moment you showed what appeared to be the hammer resting on the firing pin. The electrical tape may have been on the magazine to keep the mag from wiggling in the gun. It appeared it may have been a loose fit without the tape as the bottom was not flush when you installed it at the end. The tape may have held the mag tight in the gun and the bottom of the mag flush with the grip.

Probably the most Unsafest way to mess with the slide . You should have used the machine you have on your table that held the pistol while you beat it with the hammer since the beginning. You never now if that gun is capable of firing. Even in its worst condition

There is a highly suspicious consistency with the amount of patenation and rust damage to the firearms 'restored' on here. I have a very strong feeling they are put in that terrible state in a controlled and systematic fashion, just to make these videos. These are not 'discovered' firearms.

I was thinking how such a newish gun got so bad. I could see if it was literally dropped in a field for a year or pulled out of creek. But then why does the mag not have rust?

Why would you do this? It's one thing to fake the vids for views but loading it then intentionally weakening the internal components is asking for a AD, or I guess an ND because you caused it.

The mags are pretty loose so they add tape to keep them from rattling and keeps them secure so the bullets can actually get forced into the gun. Iv shot a few and the mag kept the round from springing into the weapon properly.

Awesome restoration mate, maybe the black tape on the outside of the magazine was put there to stop any dirt or grit getting in those little holes and jamming the bullets somehow ?? Not sure, just guessing :)
