Does the poly gel burn when being cured? My mother has two nails completely missing. Nail techs have painted the skin but it looks rough and unattractive. It's there anything that can be done for her missing nails? Thank you 😊

It’s burns if there is chemical reaction to the ingredients (everyone is different) or if the natural nail is filed too much or if the lamp is too powerful. Overall it shouldn’t burn. I’ve done poly gel on fingers and toes no burning

That's something I was wondering too. The gel replacement is as long as the old nail so I guess, there will be pressure again, which will cause further lifting?

It was lifted due to a slight fungal infection starting. Once the nail has started lifting, it will never re attach, by cutting it off, you give it a chance to grow out again, hopefully without the fungal infection this time.

@@lifesjourney65It’s not always a fungal infection. Simple everyday trauma can cause the toenail to lift. She doesn’t specify why this toenail lifted, but it shows no sign of visual signs of infection. That side is ingrown though.

There is every reason to cut the corner of that nail off. If the lifted corner is caused by a fungus, by cutting off the lifted section, you are going exposing the fungus to air (which would kill the fungus.) If it was caused by trauma, you are cutting off what is causing more trauma to the nail bed (which could result in a permanently lifted nail.) You can see how much pain the lifted nail was causing. Look at the how deep it was going into the side wall. It was not only lifted, it was ingrown. This is temporary relief. She really needs to get that ingrown removed as well.
