Welcome back! We're Cody and Katie of Highboy LA, and we upcycle vintage furniture and home decor. We sell our items in Los Angeles and also share it with the world on social media, and now on RU-vid. This is one of our favorite desk finds... an original mid-century piece from Los Angeles Desk Co. It needed a lot of love, but this restoration turned out great. We walk you through a lot of the steps, hope you can take some of these tips with you for your projects!
SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR DESKTOP:
• Stripping gel
• Scraper (metal and plastic)
• Electric sander
• 60-grit sand paper
• Brush (for dust)
• Stain of choice
• Staining rag
• Polyurethane semi-gloss sealant
SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR BODY (CABINET):
• Sanding wedge
• Wood glue
• Jorgensen bar clamp
• Wood filler
• Small piece of tissue paper
• Stain of choice
