Your dogs behaviour is the handlers responsibility.
Your dog must be trained to behave in normal society around lots of people regardless of age, old people, children etc...
You can also train your dog how to behave in scenarios that are not normal in society.
Train your dog. Expose your dog to as many new different scenarios and experiences.
Socialising your dog does NOT detract from your dogs ability to protect it's territory, your house, property, your family, your children.
