The Oregon International Port of Coos Bay is investing $31 million into track infrastructure, tunnel and bridge upgrades on the Coos Bay rail line. The project is restoring service along the entire 134-mile line and reconnecting manufacturers and the deep-draft Coos Bay harbor to the Class 1 national freight rail system.

It's good to see that this Railroad and the railroad line being reactivated and running again I hope to see trains running on it soon

Awesome. I love hearing about abandoned rail lines being restored to the former glory. Wonder if it up and running now since it two years later now.

Followed the route on google earth from Coos bay to Eugene, Oregon, looks like a spectacular route through the mountains, along lake shores, through tunnels & across bridges, at 134 miles i think it would be perfect for a day long out & back Rail fan excursion, preferably steam hauled.

I thought it about that when it was first announced. Coos Bay 104 would be right at home if someone had some extra pocket change. It’s all about money.

Cool video 👍 I have a video of Ohio central's track matinence crew replacing the old rails and ties with brand new rails and ties and the the one had a cart carrying the ties and the other one lays down a fresh new bed of ballast rock and one also removes grass and debris

That is Great news!!! My new layout will be a " protolance what if" line, in Nscale, what if Union Pacific had this line as a Class 1 subdivision, doublestacks will be hauled to Coos Bay to ships that will be in port for far away countries, all landmarks will be as they are now, just UP running the line.
