Strike a cord Fred. My Uncle Bill was a Hamm, N0GIJ, never forget. I drove with him in his AMC Jeep Wagoneer and he was using his handheld to make phone call using 'repeater towers. I was just a boy really. He was born probably in 1924. He called my Aunt down in Mankato, on their land line telephone. He was a radio operator in the Navy in WWII. In later years, he had a tower at his cabin... My mom would comment, "All they do is talk about the weather [there/]here]." lol Thanks Uncle Fred!

FRED well done mate, that is amazing what you got out of that little hand held, I've seen people on RU-vid who have got the line up some how, great little radio, loved watching, ps just ordered a DX 5000 ko,px like the Anytone I think, so just got to get my Arial up on the qt and hopefully get a copy, cheers again for your work Alan from DUNSTABLE 💯👍

Hi Fred Single press f then single press 5 for the spectrum scope. Don't press them together or hold them down. Once your on the spectrum you can control the sqelsh line using the 3 and * buttons, if you receive a conversion or signal/ frequency you want to listen to then tap the ptt any you get another screen where you can fine tune and change the signal gains.

Fred! if you want to have it on the PC/Laptop screen, you can flash it with a custom fork of egzumer firmware, along with it's PC software called "Quansheng Dock" You lose the spectrum analyzer on the radio it's self with that firmware, you do gain it back & more! with the PC software part of it though. 👍

Also its Press F once & then press 5 right after it, then you should see the spectrum part. That's just one of many, many menus 👍 I didn't know someone had told you, I had the video Paused! as I had a job to do, oh well at least you know now.

With Egzumer, the function key is replaced by long press, so, long press 5.

Fred in the shed As again a nice video but could you make a video about Shortwave radio Loop antenna's like the GA-450 or the GA-800 which are shortwave radio active loop antennas to receive shortwave radio station! I would love to hear your opinions about the GA=450 or the GA-800 Active loop antennas! Thanks for sharing!

It's just fm radio band selection for your country which I guess is handy if you want to get to 70mhz lol

They do get blinded by FM broadcast, notch filter helps alot.

Not to any effect. Very low power output and bad harmonics on other freqs. Not worth it.

Great video these quansheng radio can you use them just as a 27megs cb radio just asking I do have few cb radios a g Pluto and a ITT and a midland hand held only problem its drains the battery's I was thinking of trying out a QYT do you know if there are any good or not only thing I know about the QYT as a battery built in to the radio or pulls of like the quansheng and radtel

Hi. You cannot transmit on the CB freqs with these. They have dangerous harmonics.

I can hear China International Radio on 17.650 mhz and on 17.490 I can hear radio station too, but im not sure which station is it

If you google the freq and time you were listening you might find it.

Not safe to do so due to harmonics from the radio.

No sadly not. The radio produces dangerous harmonics on the CB band.

I would not recommend transmitting with the mod.

I'd be worried about the amount of spurious harmonics that kicks out all over the bands when it's operated out of it's designed frequencies. I can see them getting banned after causing a problem to airband or suchlike.

Yes its a worry. Hopefully people will not override the inhibitor.
