I've recently found your channel and I'm loving your content! I've been playing chess for a few months now and have sought content to help me improve. There's something about the way you explain things that just works for me. Your advice on trading pieces when ahead in material has helped me significantly. I used to try and hang onto all my pieces when ahead and would struggle to see the game out. Now I know it's more practical to trade pieces and get more pieces off the board. Looking forward to your future content!
as someone who is 1k elo and plays a lot of nimzo larsen /modern defense type games i strongly relate to people giving me free pawns. it's wild how often it happens.
I've purposefully had to skip recording some games at higher ratings where opponents have done it just so I could have games with different themes in them haha
I think you're referring to starting with 1. b3? Personally I don't like that option as much since Black has an additional option of starting with 1...e5. I prefer starting with Nf3 to prevent Black from playing ...e5 easily.
@@DaltonPerrine Yes. B3 is my go to opening for otb chess and ive had good success in the league I play in (at around 1200-1600). Any thoughts on transitioning to the ret nimzo larsen? From what I can tell this is how nimzowitch used to play the opening whereas larsen tended to start with b3
@@ftr841 There's a lot of overlap for the two openings. If you are fine playing 1. b3 e5 as White then there's probably no need to change anything but if you don't like the ...e5 lines then trying out the Reti Nimzo Larsen version might be worth it
