This track is an ABSOLUTE MASTERCLASS! From the lyrics, vocals, composition and production, is spot on! When was the last time we saw a YG song that went over FOUR (4) minutes? I was so captivated in this M/V, it's beauty and everything else, I didn't even realize the track was over 4 mins.😅 The discussion to go the complete opposite direction to "Batter up" was genius!👌 I'm looking forward to hearing their mini album!!

Batter Up was a FUN song. If anything, Music that makes you smile is what's it;'s all about. To heck, what if no one else liked the song. If it made you happy for a while, then it did what it was supposed to do. Life is tough enough. You of all should know that small pockets of happiness help a lot. Same with this one. Their vocal harmonies take me out!!

I think that the reasons that YG copyrighted both Babymonster and Baemon is so that they can use Babymonster while most members are minors and use Baemon once they are mostly adults.

Babymonster batter up was really YG style and for that reason people just hated it because is always the "same" but as soon as their favs do the same concept they are praised. Overall many people are just against YG groups for no reason. I'm Glad they did this song to show everyone that they can really sing.

Yes! You understood the assignment! SOOO many "fans", especially newer YG(read Blackpink only) fans had no idea what BAEMON was doing by debuting with a track like Batter Up and were so quick to dogpile on the girls and YG for making a "Blackpink clone" and for BM "not living up to their potential". Welp, where are they now? Funny how it's just crickets now outta the peanut gallery. The 1-2 punch of Batter Up and SITM just put the whole industry on notice about not just the mind blowing versatility and talent of BM, but also of the confidence YG has in them. I mean, what rookie group does a complete 180 on their 1st comeback as far as style and concept of the group? It's insane.

I too loved Batter Up! And I really enjoyed your reaction and I just loved this beautiful, magical and ethereal song and video! ✨☁️🎹☁️✨I was captivated after my first viewing, but completely mesmerized 😳 on subsequent ones!😲 Ruka in the stunning red dress at the start of the video is standing on her isolated darkened world 🌑 caused by her unrequited love. Just as you say. The single flower 🌷 represents a glimmer of hope for her love. Note how the single flower on a dead world is very much like Disney’s Wall-E! The rest of the video/song is (maybe Mulan) looking Ruka’s daydream. Rora grabs our soul (and your big eyes and goosebumps) in her Jasmine green dress after Pharita’s first verse, and later as she’s is playing on the piano 🎹. Cinderella Chiquita is captivating, especially in the opening scene as she looks into the camera and melts us, and Pharita’s angelic lyrics include “…let it go” (with it repeated as an echo) which is an homage to Disney’s Frozen, as is the stairway to heaven later in the video and Rami’s beautiful blond braided hair. Asa and Ruka both stun us walking on a pathway of stars which might be an homage to Disney’s Wish. There are other Disney references such as Rami with her black bows on the small island looking like The Little Mermaid, the pond for The Princess & the Frog, and I’m sure several more. As a YG stan myself, we know that YG artists always got the hate everytime they drop a song. And these come mostly from orher fandoms who go to all these reaction channels to give negative comments. If we don't like a song, we just simply don't listen to that song. Secondly, people seems to forget that YG got some of kpop's iconic ballads. These song brought me back to Bigbang's "If You".

Even though if you think YG changed, they actually didn't. The song is still using the YG Formula, if you noticed, you will see that they start with the 1 time first section, follow by the pre-chorus, chorus, then the rap section, and return to pre-chorus, chorus and the grand finale. Nothing's changed really. I love YG and BM! 😍

When Batter Up was not released, people hoped Teddy would not be involved so this GG would not sound like BP or 2ne1. When Batter Up was released, people complained because it sounded so YG but hoped Teddy was involved. When this new song was released, people complained because it didn't sound YG at all. (mind you, most of Treasure's songs don't sound YG so they get a lot of haters too!!) BM brings back the 90's or 00's music/sound: they get hate. But when other artists from other companies bring back Y2K sound or outfits, they appreciate! WTH???🤔🤣 I feel bad about BM, the same as Treasure, because of this hate when all the new YG artists are so talented. People are just hating on YG and most probably jealous of YG artists tbh.

I love this and Batter Up. Perhaps some of the hate came from: - Ayheon disappearing - people somehow thought they were a threat to BP? -they were too YG? I really don't know, but i love both groups.

To think that the girls' voices are still "tamed" in this song.. They haven't shown their real power vocals yet. But most of us who followed them from day 1, we all know what they're capable of. And also, they're really waiting for Ahyeon to complete the OT7 BM, before they do promotions and shows etc. It's a bit unfair for the current 6 members but YG knows better. YG's expertise is hyping up the fans, to the point of hurting them and making them real thirsty for what they want. Fans want ot7 so bad that when they come out with the first album and comeback this April (hopefully), it will break a lot of records for sure. So excited for Ahyeon to join them. I hope she'll receive more support than haters when she comes back. Something will be a bit controversial when she returns. Let's not forget that they already gave a try on this type of song with "DREAM", but with the 2 songs officially released YG wanted to reiterate the qualities of the group. I like both "BATTER UP" and "STUCK IN THE MIDDLE" for different reasons, and with this ballad perhaps we also got some clues that perhaps we won't have fixed and differentiated positions between lead and main. We already know that Chiquita is learning to rap, Asa is also a good vocalist, Ruka, who remains a pure rapper, has proven to sing well when necessary. I think that from song to song each of them will have the spotlight they deserve, because with a group of 7 members the lines distribution will not always be fair and satisfactory, both for the member and then for the fans who must not feel disappointed! I have faith that, unlike BLACKPINK, YG can take advantage of the sub units with BABYMONSTER to give them more opportunity to have more time within a song to express themselves. And then obviously the solo projects, which will come much later!

Love your reactions, but i was very keen to see your reaction to this masterpiece. I felt it had some similarities to 2nd gen yg as well as 1st gen, especially Bigbang. YG breaking new ground with a lot of graphic effects and an all english, non collab mv. The lyrics were everything for me and i really appreciated your take as a woman...i didn't see them as sad per se but more normal for 'young love', where the boys might be more immature then the girls and hence it is the girl that might be more likely to feel stuck in the middle...but i might be reaching. As a YG stan for a long time, i've always wanted YG girl group that is not fully girl crush or hiphop concept & lowkey hoping their songs are not Teddy coded. I'm so happy they work with various producers. Batter Up is a good debut song but SITM is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! I cry because of their amazing vocals and fairy theme MV 😭😭

Tina (sp?), you can call them whatever you want, as long as it is nice. Here is my interpretation of this song...The protagonist here, is sending mixed messages to them which confuses them causing them to be stuck between holding on to him or letting go of him. The visuals are stunning, the vocals are angelic, the harmonies are heavenly, the arrangement is perfect, their performance delivered the emotions of the lyrics despite their youth, the sets are gorgeous, and production was outstanding. Its ok song but forgettable. Didnt have much harmony until the song was almost over. They are all good singers but hard to say any are "great". If they had been introduced under and a less known label I dont think they would be getting 1/10 of the attention.
