Military dogs often return from service broken and damaged, but the lucky ones end up with Mike Ritland of the Warrior Dog Foundation in Texas. #InsideEdition
OMG! To euthanize a retired, service dog, is like jailing a homeless vet! Shameful!! Thank you so much, for taking them and caring for them, like they deserve!!
So these dogs serve our communities and country and our way of paying them back is by putting them to sleep when they're no longer seen as useful? We should do better. Our vets and our their pets deserve better. These dogs deserve better.
Ok, as a former member of a Government Agency I can say this. When us vets aren't useful anymore they try to put us down too. Look into local VA hospitals, see how bad it is
We should not euthanize any of these dogs!these dogs served our country at the same level or even more than any of our human soldiers!Euthanizing these dogs is a shame to this country!
Jurassic Mellon sometimes they do and even if they don’t they still served our country and the least we can do is take care of them.Even from a financial stand point it’s stupid euthanizing them because the taxpayer pays thousands of dollars to train EACH dog
MrLegit FTW some of these dogs save countless of our soldiers because they serve many duties we do not such as sniffing bombs and defending posts which is something a human can’t do as good as a dog
When I was 4 years old my next door neighbor was a retired Military Dog Handler and retired with his dog. That dog was my first best friend, I would wander over there and set on the back stairs with the dog and have long discussions, and he would listen to me.
As a vet myself Id be so willing to adopt one or even 2, as soon as I purchase my first home. Then they can have all the space and freedom rather than a one bedroom apartment. Thank you Warrior Dog for looking after our battle buddies
I love that this man is taking these dogs in and saving them from being euthanized these dogs deserve so much more than death when their service in our military ends
Need more heroes like you, to pts a healthy dog that served our country, wtf, I can't understand it. Its murder to kill a healthy animal , especially a dog that has served side by side with our brothers and sisters. Just can't wrap my head around it
This is heartbreaking. I always thought retired working dogs lived the end of years with their handler. I do think that happens a lot, but it isn’t guaranteed I guess. Glad this organization exists. We must take care of those who keeps us safe, and that includes our furry four legged soldiers and officers.
This is an awesome protecting program, I love that it is being done for these four legged friends, that has given their life for training to help us. ❤👍
Please give tribute to Tara Fares she was murdered today in Iraq in Baghdad right outside a chaldean church She was very famous Iraqi model She lived in Ankawa ( a Christian city in northern iraq ) but was visiting the capital She was only 22 Yes iraq is safer but some tragedies still happy
How could they euthanize those heroes.. What mikes doing is wonderful. Hope they all find wonderful homes. Can't find a better dog then service dogs. They earned their right to live a full life!
I thank God for this Warrior Dog FOUNDATION. Thank you Mr. Ritland. I donated. They need funds for the four legged heroes. ❤🐕🦺 And Mr. Mike thank you for your service and the k9's.
Our vet dogs deserve love and forever home after their service. ✌ 💘 🇺🇸 thank you for your love and compassion and dedication to keeping these veterans alive and to new homes
This is an awesome program, dogs did not ask to volunteer they should have a place to go after they serve. Thank you for caring about our military dogs.❤️
This brought me to tears! To the WARRIOR DOG FOUNDATION- THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for all your amazing work with these beautiful doggos!!!! 🐶🐶🐶💜💜💜
this is wonderful for the k9's.. I am very happy to see someone is helping these Beautiful animals our 4 legged vets find good homes.. and to feel like a normal dog. with love and compassion!!! awesome story!!!!
These dogs served our Country with Honor. At the end of dogs service they should be adopted out not killed. The thought of killing these beautiful Military Members makes my blood boil.😡😤
These dogs do more than most humans do to serve our country, they should never be euthanized! I’m glad this organization is helping find new homes for them
God bless all of you for helping these dogs. It's so sad that they put some of these dogs to sleep after everything they have done for their country. Thanks for everything you do for these dogs 🙏😊🐈
This is absolutely the most beautiful thing I have seen in a long time!thank you from the bottom of my heart for saving them after their service ,its appalling that the thought of them putting them to sleep ! God bless you so very much for saving them !
It would be an honor to take in one of these dogs in and give him or her a great home. Hope to hear about how to get on a list or whatever needs to be done.
True heroes helping true heroes. Bravo. If I was a veteran I would feel worthy to salute you. Instead, a deep felt thank you for all that you have done!
I'm so glad to hear of your devotion to these military dogs. They served and deserve a good retirement. Their handlers need the assurance that their partners will not be put down.
Thank you for taking care of retired military and police dogs. It is possible for me to adopt one of the dogs after they have been tried to leave a normal life?
These heroes served their country with full dedication and they really deserve a loving home with lots of love and care after their retirement I pray all the canine gets it.

In Hebrew, the word for dog, Caleb, means "all heart". And, truly these noble creatures can teach us a lot about ourselves and unconditional love. So grateful to hear about this wonderful organization!🐶
Been a shelter volunteer for years. Thank you Mr Ritland for your service in the Teams and thank you for providing this necessary bridge from enforcement to civilian life. "Let them be dogs", exactly what I do with the pits and other dogs I socialize at the shelter. Ms Daniel, thank you for your dedication and service to these forgotten dogs who deserve to live a regular life, utmost respect to both of you!
Police/military dogs deserve so much after retirement. They should have benefits from the government like, lifetime dog food, bed, secured home and free veterinary service.
Thank you Sir for not only caring but for stepping up to the plate and doing something about this problem. Thank you for your service Sir, Carlitos Roae
