I loved growing up in the 80's. Sugary cereals with prizes inside the boxes and Saturday morning cartoons. Those were the days!

In the Honey Nut Cheerios commercial (#2), that was Victoria Jackson from SNL as the saloon girl.

I remember in the late 60’s I believe, it used to be called super sugar crisp and then in the 80’s I think, it became golden crisp, when a lot of manufacturers took the word sugar out of the description. Thanks Dave, great job as always!

I also feel like that Golden Grahams droplet thing was the pinnacle of 80s 3D rendering.

Seems like there were more "bran" cereal in the 80s. I guess Americans had a hard time pooping.

These commercials really take me back. As a side note, Kellogg's used to give tours of their main factory in Battle Creek, Michigan back in the 80s. They discontinued it due to the possibility of industrial espionage. I remember the factory was so loud you had to have ear protection, and I will never forget how a corn flake tasted BEFORE it was toasted.

Great Video. I wish Cable had 80's channels. And I'm talking Multiple channels that plays all day like normal but It's just pure 80's commercials Cartoons and Movies. Every Channel would play like normal like It originally did let's say from 80 - 89 and every 10 Years re loop It. That would be sweet. They could have like 20 Channels. Comes with TV Guide to make It feel really official lol. I wouldn't mind 90's too.

Watching this taught me that us Americans have a serious, and rather unhealthy obsession with raisins in cereal. Why is that?

Raisins were everywhere in the 80s. I remember raisins being so much more prominent than they are today. Even a had a claymation singing group of raisins with merch everywhere. They really wanted us to eat raisins lol.

I wish I could get that feeling back when I was clawing to get to the prize in the bottom of a cereal box. Or the anticipation of mailing away cereal box tops and patiently waiting for it to show up in the mail, which felt like forever. When is it that we lose that innocence and why. Sure we have to grow up eventually, but why do we have to get rid of that childhood excitement?

I think the people behind the Raisin Squares commercial were trying WAY TOO HARD to sell the cereal.

God miss those 6am Saturday mornings with a bowl of Corn Pops. My lineup : The Snorks The Gummi Bears. Now on Disney streaming The Smurfs Then Kung Fu movies lol.

Saturday mornings were amazing back then. The commercials were just as great as the cartoons.

I am not an American and i was born in the end of 1990 but I really enjoy it. At the same time i have some strange feeling that i was born in wrong time (80s nostalgia while I've never lived in 80s)

The actress portraying a nurse in the Nut 'n Honey Crunch cereal looks like the vice principal with the huge mole on her face in the movie "Uncle Buck". I loved that scene! Laughed when he tossed her quarter and advised her to go downtown and have a rat bite that thing off her face... Lol. The 80s were awesome!

Rue Mc clanahan sure made me understand that I had to have a bowl of cereal after a night of having sex With all these raisin bran cereal commercials, we should've had less cases of colon cancer in this country I was disappointed not to see commercials for Mr. T's cereal, banana frosted flakes, as well as the obvious fruity pebble's and froot loop commercials

Guess they couldn't get the real John Denver to do an ad. 11:44. *A wild Real John Denver appears, flattening THAT theory to dust, but sudden realization that these are two directly-competing cereals. When I was a kid (during this era), I was only interested in Frosted Flakes and Rice Chex as my dad used to max them (i.e., with more sugar than cereal). Now, at 45, I still eat those two more than any of the others, but I never really even tried most of these. It feels like cereal and candy are the two products that have the most defunct attempts, and I really would try over half of these now.

I miss the cereal jingles and the idea that you need to bring a box of cereal everywhere you go.
