Holy shit! Arin wasn't kidding. Vintage Sugar Bear is fucking terrifying. He bursts straight through brick walls and rips safes open with his bear hands. Somehow that gentle song he's constantly singing makes it even more horrifying O_O

There's something inherently threatening about Sugar Bear. A soft spoken bear that effortlessly breaks down walls and steals property without regard, and also knows exactly where said property is. Guess it keeps him going strong.

i recall these cartoons when they were first on the air.....true, they were half-hour commercials for Post, but they were also very well-done; you could tell there was some money behind them......always had first-rate voicing, from the likes of Sheldon Leonard, Allan Sherman, Jonathan Winters, etc......

I love long these commercials are. Nowadays, cereal commercials last for like 5 seconds each.

Okay, Game Grumps quotes aside, it's kinda fun watching these old commercials all one after the other. They feel like a connected narrative... A young girl and her brother, feeling bored and hungry, were presented their first bowl of Sugar Crisp by a trio of magical woodland bears. Over the years, the girl became obsessed with the cereal. Turning to the mystic arts and calling herself Granny Goodwitch, the girl befriended the woodland creatures as best she could. They never revealed to her the secret of the cereal's production, but they provided her a steady supply of boxed Sugar Crisp. This, sadly, attracted the attention of the powerful being known only as Sugar Bear. Sugar Bear, believing that Sugar Crisp rightfully belonged to bearkind, spent years dispassionately hounding Granny Goodwitch, his powerful, immortal body overcoming all her spells and trickery. Eventually, Granny was forced to relent, or some say she passed away hungry. Whatever the case, the loss of his victim and primary source of Sugar Crisp resulted in a change for the better in Sugar Bear. He began using the strength granted by the cereal to thwart those who sought to ruin the Earth and planets beyond with their uncaring behavior, becoming a champion of the people in spite of himself. In time, Sugar Bear's newfound generosity earned him the secret to create his own Sugar Crisp, and he became its new guardian, protecting the cereal passed down from ancient bearkind from the likes of Sugar Fox.
