The coast glide is a bike that Harley seriously needs to consider, they are missing out on something that could be huge! I like this version using the low rider S.
I sold my street glide 2 months ago and going the softail route. looking at building my version of the low rider s into a coast glide. gonna wait till the 2021 bikes are release later in the year before I pull the trigger on my new Harley.
Very nice. Way out of my price range, but I love it. Thank you for all of the great content. I agree with MarvelKid87 that Harley needs to understand and develop a marketing strategy around social media influencers. I’ve always ridden naked sport bikes (79 Suzuki GS1000, 07 Honda 919, 16 KTM SDGT, 18 Yamaha MT10). Never thought I would consider a Harley. However I think I’ve reached the stage that I need to slow down just a bit (I’m 42). Still want to be able to have fun on the back country roads and don’t want to give up all performance and handling aspects. But don’t need to be twisting the throttle and going serious triple digit speeds (in a few seconds) every time I ride, and taking 45 mph corners at 90+. I know it won’t be able to be pushed as hard as a sport bike, but that’s the point. A bit more laid back but still can offer enjoyment when you want to let it rip and throw it around a bit. Without always worrying that you’re 1 well positioned officer away from a trip to jail and a license suspension. I know self control is a big part of that, but honestly, what’s the point of a sport (or sport naked) bike if you’re going not going ride it like it was designed for. Anyway, all of that to say, the Low Rider S seems like the perfect fit, and IMO the type of direction Harley needs to head in if they want to attract riders like me from other bike segments/manufacturers. But they also have to get the word out and pique interest. And without your guys work on RU-vid I seriously doubt it would have been on my radar. I don’t know how well their strategy of trying to break into other segments is going to work (if they continue that path with the new CEO). It may, and they may need to try, but for people who want an adventure or naked sport bike, the bikes will need to meet or beat their competitors in performance and handling aspects and be in the same price range. Doubt they will convert many current Harley riders to the new categories (and not gaining market share if the do). And to bring people over from the market leaders in these segments, will have to meet those stated criteria. I just don’t see many people buying a non-traditional (for Harley) segmented bike, that offers less performance and value than the competitors, just because of the name and heritage. But IMO they can bring people from other segments to a “traditional style Harley” if it offers increased performance characteristics, while being priced “reasonably.” At least people like me, that still want some performance, but are willing (and want) to step away from sport bike performance, as long as the price isn’t outrageous for what you are getting (but still willing to pay some premium for the brand).
Good job Laidlaws. Marco stop saying you did this you did that. Laidlaw built this bike, you just opened your wallet or gave them a credit card and pointed at a catalog
I love the design and colors of the paint job. You made many changes and you made them with class. Congradulations. Also congradulations to Matt on producing a great video to show it off. Great job guys! I can't wait to see what is next.
I like that intro into the history of the road. Every once in a while you talk motorcycle history. Great video, awesome bike. See you guys sometime in the future!
It’s an awesome ride, I’ve done it several times on different types of bikes and it never gets old. I would recommend riding up to red box road and out to the observatory, the view is breathtaking. Great content.
@@MattLaidlaw - Your drone footage here of Angeles Crest, your Newcombs Ranch ride, and your Coast Glide I & II are most insanely beautiful videos you've produced - IMHO. Great job on the videos and the builds.
And he is having to do the first 500 miles at 55mph and 2,500 rpms. Would like to see him come back after the break in and listen to it as he gets into the throttle.
You hit that build outta the park man! Beautifully put together and summed up perfectly with "this is what should be coming out of Harley-Davidson." Hopefully, they are listening and offer people like you a job.
Seeing this build makes me rethink going into the touring models for my own needs. What a cool bike!!!! Matt you also have taken your videos to the next level! Nice job!
@@MattLaidlaw what crash bar is on this bike?? I love the paint schemes you put on your bikes. I'm doing something along these lines on my lowrider ST.
Holy smokes. That is a wonderful build. I love that it hits all three aspects of what makes harley davidson the best. Beauty, power and utility. Most builds will disregard one of the three pillars of HD in order to lean into the other two. But this build is a perfect balance of all three pillars. Job well done. Congratulations.
Matt, you're driving me crazy with those E P I C Lowrider s footages. STUNNING BIKE. I'm really planning on building a mile-eating lowrider s tour package. Awesome video thanks man
This is epic. Amazing build. .....Who was that other bike company everyone on RU-vid was talking about??🤔🤔🤔 Something like Indian, Indiana,Polaris something ahhhhhh who cares. killed it with this one. (There's sarcasm in there for people who don't know)
MojoMan Murph Ha! U fortunately I have hypersensitive hearing and can’t deal with the super loud pipes. I had a modded XR1200R with V&H pipes that rendered it unridable for any real distance.
Just as awesome as I expected! The paint, mods, exhaust, fairing, suspension, bars, on and on. You guys nailed it again! I’ll say it one more time...Harley should listen to Cali and Laidlaws if they truly want to grow their market even more. Great job! I guess I can go on with my life now that the video has made it to YT.
If you like orange check out Matt's video of the Battle of the Kings Global Championship winning build the original "Coast Glide" that's the bike that started it all for us!
@@TheKeithhurt I did. Partly how I ended up with a 2020 sport glide 🤣🤣 My shop didn't have one, I was in Anaheim for work so I stopped by Laidlaws and checked out the sport glide they had. Didn't say hi to Matt cuz "omg I'm a huge fan autograph my boob would be weird but damn hes tall lol. Almost bought it but then realized Cali taxes would kill me so I bought it here in Wyoming the moment it came off the truck 😁
I really hope the company is paying attention to all this! Yet another incredibly inspiring build and feature on your page Matt. Marco, that thing is a stone killer man! Keep up the great work fellas
Man Matt you guys once again knocked it out the park. I’m from NY and I have the same bike. I will definitely have to save up and work something out where I can send you my bike and have your team do the same for me. You guys are unbelievable. Right on bro. 👍🏻
Your videos just get better and better. A great job man Matt. The video layout is top notch. And the commentator did a great job. His bike is amazing. And he let the public know a lot about it. Not scripted. Well done.
The original FXRT's were the best bike they have ever made IMO. A true sport touring bike that was way ahead of it's time. I remember well fro 1986 when we couldn't give them away, now they are the holy grail.
What a beautiful beast!! Love your build and Marco has good taste lol this i would buy if it came out of the hd factory. Those fxrt fairing, the tbr exhaust, sportglide bags, and tour pack..the mini bagger we always wanted. Why wait when you can build one for yourself? Just awesome 👍🏽.
Ok I'll be honest this is prolly the 8th time I've watched this video in full. Great work. This bike down to every screw is what I would build if I could. Just orange where the red is. Hands down the nicest bike I've ever seen.
Great bike. That should be a standard offered bike, or option like it by Harley. Hooah. P.S. Any advice on windscreen for RKS. Looked at F4 and KW so for.
You guys made it look like it came from the factory. I never would have thought of a tour pak on a Low Rider S, but it along with the bags looks good. Question: Did you increase seat height with the suspension or is Marco just a really short dude?
Can you put that M8 135 in a FXR frame?? I love the paint color and scheme, it's perfect. I have an old '84 FXRT ,Love to put the M8 tied to the shirt FXR Primary and keep the Chain Drive. Wacha think????
I always like seeing builds like these. On the east coast we dont really get to see stuff like this, just stretched and chromed busas. West coast styles are where it's at.
I wasn't going to watch the video because it's not my thing. Glad I did. Not into the tall bars but that bike is exceptional... paint is BEAUTIFUL... just one of the best builds you guys have done.
I think I have watch almost all of Matt's videos...your bike is the best...your bike is the best...your bike is the best...who shot the vid...Matt...if you stick to this format...going back to March....incredible vid...of all the bikes Matt has showcased...up to now...Sep 30 2020....Marco you killed it...(MBB) Matt's Best Bike 2020!
WOW! that bike is drop dead gorgeous. that paint is killer. Love the rotors and bought the B-52 Black ones but for some reason Lyndall would not send me a pic with them on a B-52 wheel, and now I can't even get those wheels, so I don't know what Lyndall's problem is. You spend 2K on brakes and you can't get a picture? WTF? The paint design really pulls everything together, so that painter is a goddam genius old school soul. So JEALOUS, until I finish murdering my PSB. I saw RC Components at a Rally on Amsoil Adam's youtube and they spoke of anodizing, but when I called them, they said they only anodize what they sell, so I'm not too happy with their line of BS either. If you can't be careful with what you say, you should just shut your pie hole.
Hey Mr Laidlaw, Please oh please could you tell me what crash guard/engine guard was the one used in this build. Was it custom made? I have the bunking on my lowrider s but those look awesome! ALSO, WHERE CAN I FIND OR CONTACT THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE THAT FAIRING and the built in speakers?? This is the dream build I have in mind for my bike as well ❤️
Matt, despite the release of the ST, the FXRT fairing still appeals. I assume you guys have had experience with several of the different aftermarket FXRT fairing copies- which seems best for install? Good brackets available? Or gotta cobble our own?
Love the Low Rider S,really like your setup...great job👍. Question...I notice that your arms are fully extended to the bars, for the long distance rides do you wish you had some pull back on those bars...or is there not any issue? 👍😎🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸.
An inspiration. Exactly what I'm looking for. Glad I came by this. Thanks Matt, Luv all your informative recordings. Do you happen to know the riser height from Kraus?
Beautiful bike! What’s the torque to RPM? I looked at the fat boy but settled with my Indian Chief dark horse. Loved the performance of 119 torque to low 3000rpm with no mods. But that’s one sexy bike geez
Harley's are starting to look more European/ Japanese. Not that's a bad thing. Just hope Harley Davison sticks to the American nostalgic muscle look. That's what drives the world to them.
