how to fabricate a connector for the cartridge port to be installed vertically in a toaster?maybe an adapter kit off amazon or something? was going to try and wire one up with old pc ribbon cable i guess...
I'm not sure if I completely follow what you want to do. But I think you want to make an adapter that changes where you can plug the game in. Goooood question. I guess you can get a replacement cartridge port or take it off of a non working board. Then get a cheap game and cut the board so just the gold contacts are left. Then solder wires from the pins of the port to the contacts of the game board? Does that make sense? If you do something like this I'd love to see pictures or something. Thanks for the comment!

Ah this is pretty neat. I would try and solder the pins to that connector if you're comfortable doing that. It'll make a stronger connection. Just be sure not to bridge any connections. I think soldering the cables from the top connector to the gold fingers from a scrapped snes game might be a good option for plugging into the bottom connector ( in the motherboard). Idk if different games use different pins or if this would cause issues but could work. As for the over heating could be any of those or like the voltage regulator getting hot. Dirty connector and game moving. Or a chip getting too hot. Sadly it could be anything. This is a cool idea good luck!!
