I'm glad people are collectively coming to your video after watching other people fail at using the Bake 'n' Fill as the infomercial is one of my favorites but people are really out here not greasing their pans and then blaming the product. 😅 Cute cake and I love learning about that "fluffy white" frosting, I want to try and find it now myself!
Oh my gosh, I was SO confused when this video started picking up steam last year - way before Halloween! I didn't realize other people were out there trying the Bake 'n' Fill at the time. I just thought they were longing for Fall and pumpkin weather! 😂
how do you only have under 1k views on this? I just watched a popular youtuber make a cake using this product and it was a total fail. This is solid content and it turned out great!
After I saw your comment I also noticed a weird little surge in views on my video…this explains why! I was over the moon excited to find a brand new Bake ‘n’ Fill at Goodwill last Fall for SEVEN DOLLARS. Thanks for watching and for your kind words!
The cake was a total fail cuz she didn't grease the pans, or let the cake cool before adding the ice cream, then she goes on to blame Betty crocker! The audacity
"I need a moment" LOL LOL!!! This is my favorite video so far!!! About the candy corn, maybe they put it in such a huge bag so they could get rid of it, dunno. I have some years put a mixture of candy corn and salted peanuts in my toy gravity box ( piece of farm equipment that has a door in the side to let out the contents of said box ), but that's about it.
You unmolded that cake beautifully, and I like to think it was entirely my support and confidence sent through RU-vid and backwards through time that helped you do it. Isn't a proper cake turntable an amazing thing? I recently picked one up and it was a game changer! The choice of the slivered almonds made for a great looking Jack O' Lantern cake if you ask me. You did brilliantly, as always! Love this one Anna!
It was touch and go with the Great Cake Unmolding of 2022, with with your time machine support and care we made it happen! 😂 I did end up liking the extra jagged pointyness of the almonds as teeth. Really gave it that borderline jolly/scary look! Thanks so much for watching!
I just found one of these at a yard sale. I knew I had to get it because I had seen this video of yours awhile back. This video will be very helpful when I try it out.
Gingerbread cake, filled with pumpkin moose. Frost with a maple frosting. I would have fun with one of these. Also, I am 38 years old and never have I ever seen betty crocker boxed frosting mix. I'm from Maine and it's not sold anywhere near me.
@@cooking_the_books any time I've tried decorating anything fancy like that I end up wearing more of the icing than ends up on the cake / pie / cupcakes. It turns into a huge fiasco and mess. Your pumpkin was awesome -- I loved his pastel orangieness!
It won’t let me add photos in here but I have the cookbook with the Jack o Lantern cake! It’s from Betty Crocker’s New Boys and Girls Cookbook published in 1965. The recipe doesn’t even give very detailed instructions on how to make it, just says to bake in round layer pans as directed on the back of the Spice Cake box mix. 😊
I loved these commercials when i was a kid. Me and my wife occasionally watch some of those old commercials and she said how much she wanted one. Picking one up on ebay and want to surprise her for her birthday. The plan is to make a cake then wait until she realizes its one of these and asks where it is. I know shell want to use it immediately 😂
Great video! I remember from my childhood that my mom made me a birthday cake using one of these. It was decorated as a baseball, with ice cream for the filling
Love it! I have a cookbook with that cake in it but I can’t remember which one. Also, I bought two packages of fluffy white frosting mix on Amazon for $14 (🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️) because this weekend I’m making the……Flaming Eye Ghost Cake! I’m so excited!
I also collected vintage cookbooks - esp the ones from church groups from the 60's and 70's (have found the best salad dressing and bbq sauces in those books ) I have a book from the farm bureau 1959- large hard cover book best recipes ever it's still my go to bought about 30 years ago at a yard sale for 10 cents - also have q 1947 collaborative cookbook from navy wives- each recipe is hand written- all in script- many young people today would never be able to read it lol--- always fun finding great old books (btw have all my Mom's torn out recipe from magazines- put into a photo album - she made most of them and all my Grandmother's booklets from different companies of the 1930's and 40's from banks- electric co- phone co and the ones made by brand companies - my favs are the Christmas ones - love your channel kept me company while recovering from a knee replacement
I took a couple of cake decorating classes at my local bakery supply. It was so fun, and it has come in handy. Micheal's has them too. I was a terrible decorator. Now, I can make stuff that looks better than the store bakery and it's so fun to do. I do use cake mixes and doctor them up, as I don't enjoy baking very much, and the homemade cakes I have made are always a bit dry.
The inspiration photo looked like a Koolaid Man pumpkin and now I just kind of wonder what pumpkin juice koolaid would be like. Probably awful. But this looked like a lot of fun and now I kind of want to find one for myself.
That cake is so adorable. Great job! I love how you are just honest when you have trouble and make mistakes. We all make mistakes, and it just makes the videos more fun.
This is so cool!!! I haven’t seen one of this bake and fill before. That is definitely vintage. You could do so many things with the bake and fill. I loved the way it turned out
So fab!! I love your channel!! I loved journeying with you along this pumpkin face. Wonderful cake. I canʻt wait to see what you come up with for Halloween 2023!! 💜
This is fabulous, Anna! I love how it turned out! Super cute! I’m happy you enjoyed it. I would have totally sent you a photo of the recipe card. Keep that in mind for the future. 🙂
Thank you!! And I will the remember that the next time I need something from the big green box! 😂 I hope to unearth it from the last remaining moving boxes one of these days.
RU-vid just recommended this to me, you did a great job on this cake! That filling looked delicious but that boxed icing 😂 it looks like it’s trying to be a chemically engineered Swiss meringue or something! I’ve seen those boxed icings before and tbh I’ve never trusted them to make a decent frosting, I always stick to those canned icings or just make some myself.
Hi Anna! Trying to catch up with all your past videos since I am a fairly new subscriber. You really had me laughing during this video! 😂 What a “hoot” you are!🧡
Your cake decorating videos are my favorite! Well done. I'm going to make the Autumn Gold cake tomorrow--I found the DH orange cake mixes at Big Lots, of all places. They had a huge baking display for the holidays. (Big Lots seems to have turned TJ Maxx-esque in the years since I've been there last!)
I wanted a kooky look for my jack o lantern, and I think I accomplished that. 😂 I thought maybe you were busy with life things! It seems like my sub count stopped at 999 for a full day, and then finally ticked over to 1000 while I was in Austin last week.
OMG Anna, When you made the Icing, I REMEMBER it tasting WEIRD when I made it out of the box. I recall it having an aftertaste almost chemical. As always, you did an Amazing Job! 🎃🎃🎃
Just tell everyone it was pulled from the vine early so it’s not quite ripe. Or maybe it’s one of those white pumpkins. I like it without candy corn. I’m one of those people who think candy for should disappear 🤣
