My era of Dr Who. The saddest tragedy is all those episodes that were wiped! Great to see these 3 together :) 'The Invasion' was my favourite story of Patrick Troughton's era (RIP).
I was a child when the Doctor was with Jamie and Zoe. I loved the three of them, and watching this interview was simply marvellous. RIP Deborah Watling! I loved Wendy Padbury's little comment towards the end suggesting that maybe one day, the Doctor might be played by a woman, and here we are now with our first woman Doctor. I started watching Doctor Who when I was eight in 1968, and the story was the highly atmospheric The Abominable Snowmen. Fifty years ago! Im glad this great show has been part of my life across these great decades. Yes, here's to long ago, and yes, here's to what yet shall come. Cheers!
"Maybe [Fury From the Deep] will be rediscovered one day". Not rediscovered, but animated instead. Debs, I hope you and Pat are looking down on us and are so happy to see that we can all watch these stories again.
Oh my goodness Debs. I must've met her within a few weeks of this interview; she passed away a month or two after the con where I saw her. Such a sweet, funny lady.
It makes me sad to think if Deborah had survived a few more years, she would’ve lived long enough to see the first female doctor and the fury from the deep animation. :(
No offense whatsoever to Wendy, who did a great job as her character. And I don't DIS-like Zoe. But I really love the character of Victoria, she (along with Jamie) is one of my favorite companions. I wish they would have just kept her around till the end of Patrick's run. Her chemistry with Jamie was fantastic, and I think there was a lot more that could have been done/explored with her character.
At the time this was recorded did Deborah not know that the tomb of the cyberman sveved I in bbc active and somebody should have set her a dvd copy of the tomb of the cyberman and she would have joined in 1967 and did she not know the Emery of the world was found in 2013 and that the web of fear was also found in 2013
