@@jkhoover If it were fair it would feel like a business transaction, if the seller had got even close to the actual value of the games from him, it woukd feel like a business transaction. But it wasn't, and she didn't. Instead he paid a fraction of the value of these items, and made a massive profit selling them on, because she didn't know any better. To me that seems like taking advantage of her ignorance in this matter. A fair man, one who could rightly call himself a businessman, would have told her how much the games worth on the open market. They would have then come to a fair price by which they might still make a profit, by taking the merchandise into a broader market, but also is fair on the seller, making sure she doesn't lose out. As it is, he's making money off the backs of others, often the elderly, as in this video, who know no better, and that just isn't right.
@@samuellawrencesbookclub8250 First, that's assuming a lot. You're assuming that the seller is naive and doesn't know vintage video games can be worth money and needs saving from random people in the comments section. It's also assuming that the reseller knows, on the spot, how much all of these games are worth. Not all games are worth that much. Second, you're naive to think that selling online is easy. Most people don't want to test, clean, take pictures, store for months, pack safely, ship, hope it doesn't get returned. Not to mention buy boxes, tape, shipping scale, packing paper, bubble wrap, etc. Pay enough so that he might make a profit? Selling online takes way too much work. That's why we get up at 6am and go to yard sales for yard sale prices. People want to get rid of their items that day. They don't want to do the work and hold on to them for months. Let me enlighten you, yes I'm a reseller. I tell 90% of the people I buy from that I'm a reseller. They don't care. They don't want to sell their items on ebay. They don't want to deal with the time and headaches required. They don't need random people on the internet to be their saviors. I know you think you're a hero, but you're not.
@@jkhoover First off, I'm not a hero, I just have conscience, and it trouble me when I see liberties taken. Anyway allow me to break down you long list of accusations: Making Assumptions of Niavety. Not really assuming thought, is it, if she knew that the games were valuable, she would not sell them cheaply. Perhaps informed guess would be closer to the mark. In any case, a fair man would at least tell her that what she has is valuable. Not accounting for additional costs? Packing does cost, of course, but probably no more than an extra $20 on top of what he paid in the first place. Heck, if you ask around in small shops you can get most of the boxes and bubble wrap you need for free, that's what I've always done. He might not know that he's found something valuable? This is a major source income for him, he's bound to picked up something. In any case, he's been doing this long enough to know to check values, which he could do using the phone in his pocket. Not wanting to risk his profit? Look for a second at other businesses. Items typically go through a chain of buyers are sellers, each new buyer is able to draw of a wider sphere of customers. This is how each chain is able to make money, more than the last, on the same thing. Resellers do the same sort of thing, taking products from the local market, in garage sales, onto the internation, on eBay and similar. If every business can take the risk of paying a fair price, so can the reseller. You are not like him? It is good that you tell people what you are, I get the impression that you are a fair man, but the man in the video does not say that he is a reseller, he doesn't give people to opportunity to revise their prices, if they want to. By all means take a bargain if the seller is not interested, but let them know and let them decide, don't rob them.
Watch as a scam this lady into selling video games that she didn’t even want to sell for way less then they are worth New title just throwing that out there
From an old game selling wizard, this is my real life advice: 90% of the time they have no games when you ask. Of the 10% left, most say come back later which ends up being nothing since the look up prices and decide no. Then there is those RARE times it works out which can be a crazy fun time.
That's why people like us can't afford to buy video games, resale people buys everything and then sale it for rent money cost needs to stop so we the people can buy and enjoy video games again .
I went to a yard sale this past Friday and I asked the seller if he had video games for sale and he pointed a box out and it was full of Retro consoles (one day I'll clean them and get them working) ...but I didn't buy it for the consoles...there was games in there as well like; for the SNES: Super Mario Kart, Mario is Missing, and Super Punch-Out ...for the N64: Castlevania, and Goldeneye ...for the Genesis: Sonic the Hedgehog...and Much more!! All for just $15 ...The seller just wanted them gone!
She was probably hoping you weren't going to rip her off because she probably knew that they were worth something but didn't know if a garage sale was the best environment to sell them. She sees you ask for em all nice and polite probably assumes you work a regular job and then bam you rip her off so you can get just a little bit ahead. No respect for her life or where those games came from and shes giving you access to them. Your going to have to find a better way to make money. You won't be fulfilled by this
Some people dont wsnt to be bothered selling their stuff in a way that requires anything but slapping it on a table in front of someone and getting money immediately. I domt nlame them, its hassle free.
I almost sold all my 100+ ps1 & 2 game's for $2 ea at the local markets until my carer looked up their value on eBay. So far I've made around $3000 n he won't even let me buy him lunch! Lol
You and others like you are reason kids can't play these games, and people my age can't relive their childhood. Prices so high no average person can afford them, then you rip off people like this.
Stop posting these videos. Do you see the comments you are getting? These RU-vid shorts are destroying the resale market foreal I’ve hear about it so much at sales
cry baby loser comments crying about shit they think is unfair but not actually doing anything about it, like say... shopping at a garage sale themselves to find great deals on nostalgic games, people are breeding on jealousy in these comments.
