Now the hard parts are out the way we can move onto the fun stuff! In this episode we move away from the boring "Pure" styling and upgrade to the "Dynamic" Instagram for the inside scoop prior to RU-vid; SLRebuilt
When changing badges u should masking tape around the old badges in a box shape. And then replace the new badges in the box. It keeps the alignment / positioning better!
Top tip! Use dental floss to remove the badges to avoid damage to the paint also put a masking tape line above and below them so you know where to locate the new badges after they are removed.
Finally got some time in the day to catch up on watch my favourite channels. Range Rover looks fantastic you have made a lovely job of it. I started in salvage 30 years ago with a guy I got to know very much like the guys at the garage. Sadly he is retired now but I still have the passion to getting something repaired and put back on the road it always a great feeling. Looking forward to seeing the first drive
Super sick upgrades. My freelander will be on the channel soon, loads of upgrades for it. Thanx for the Range Rover built, give me really cool ideas. Empire Legacy 💯🤙
On my RRE's and DS's I have always removed the bonnet lettering - they just streak dirt (personal choice). However, in order to ensure the letters go back in the same place they came off on my top tip is to: 1. Go letter by letter. 2. Put a piece of masking tape under and above each letter and put a pencil mark where the corners are. 3. Remove, clean, replace. Also LR adhesive is quite poor (try getting BMW or Merc badge off) so it's worth promoting adhesion by using a hair dryer to warm the panel and the new letter before applying it.
Loving the content ma man.. build is coming on a treat. Great to watch channel as your pace filming is spot on👍🏻 After effspot, stradman & Vtuned this is all i need for a weekly car fix no pun intended 😎 Hope santa brings some new wheels🎅🏻
Same colour as my Wife’s Dynamic. And now with all the black bits. 😎 Definitely needs the upgraded alloys to match. Just bear in mind the ride will be harder with the 20” rims especially without the magnetic shocks. Oh and I recommend servicing the Haldex unit with an oil change and if it’s Haldex 4 change the filter. Which ever type of Haldex (4 or 5) pull the pump as it has a filter screen that clogs up with muck and then blows the pump.
Looks really good, you may need to update the CCF settings on the car to change to the xenon bulbs as having the wrong setting may impact the voltage and lifespan of the xenon bulbs. Also I believe depending on how fussy your MOT tester is all HID lights need auto-leveling and washer jets, just something to watch out for.
That looks so much nicer, If there’s one thing that lets the aesthetics of a car down it’s acres of unpainted grey plastics,Nice set of wheels will finish this off a treat👌
Really Making me want a Evoque watching your videos haha, looking at either a pure with the dynamic parts or buying a dynamic, found a dynamic lux for £9,250 online and looks amazing all blacked out, torn between the grey & black or all black
You also need the 2x shark fins on the rear tailgate spoiler it gives +10 points to badass :D going to retrofit that spoiler on my Evoque this summer. I just need to find some documentation on how to remove it first.
You need Sam back 2016 lights just plug play and wing black fents black 20 ins wheels in black to go with the roof and maps doing good job of evoque have good Xmas m8
How do you go about getting insurance for this car as it has had major structural damage and repairs, will it have to go and be tested to see if it’s structurally sound in a crash.
Hi there SL rebuilt. Great video! I am also upgrading a pure & part of what I wanted to upgrade is the headlamps, can you confirm that swapping out pure halogen for hid with signature led is a direct swap with no other modification? Or any problems? Also can you let me know where you sourced the headlamps please. You said you got them at a really good price & it would appear they are also the black label/Victoria Beckham edition which ideally are the ones I would like to source to go with the Santorini black paint. If you can answer these 2 queries then many thanks in advance... Neil...
I have did my evoque same and like post pic of my car to let you see my evoque 14 reg I put 2016 headlights on it and back bumper frunt bumper from 2018 new wheels you just need wing fentsblack
Hi, love this series! Bought my own Evoque to fix up recently. I have a question if you’ve got a chance to answer it. Did you need dynamic specific bumper mounting brackets that fix the bumper to the wings?
@@SLRebuilt Thanks, I actually got around to checking and all seemed fine. My other question is did you have any issues changing to the xenon lights from halogen? I’ve just swapped mine out and the xenon bulbs turn off after a split second. Researched online and everyone is saying it’s not a straight swap and it needs coding in.
Constructive feedback alert, if you have a headlamp levelling switch in the car then those Xenons won't work, the little arm that broke on your S3 is the auto levelling system.
@@SLRebuilt wow! I've heard from many people that the xenons will need to be coded since they are auto leveling and they also need the auto leveling sensor.
ideally Software needs to be changed to accommodate headlights (still have not changed and has been a year or so now). They still work but sometimes the main beam goes out - has to be turned off and back on again
I think I'd have spent the money on ensuring the paint match was better rather than adding all of the Dynamic options, now it looks like theres differences in colour on the n/s front door and front/rear ends. It's a good looking thing though!
I have just watched the entire series for this project, well done that man 👏 Really impressive work and nice to see good help is still available, what a legend 👍 I noticed you put the dynamic side skirts on without adding the original dynamic side skirts bar/bracket/rail. Basically a 30mm box tube that runs up the sides of the vehicle for the skirts to mount on. You can see them here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FfREQrZzKkw.html. I only mention it because I am about to the same thing, and wondered if you have had any issues since fitting the skirts without these bars in place? Keep up the great work mate 👌
Hey Chris, Thank you very much. I purchased non genuine ‘Pure’ side steps to get round this problem. The mounting points for these mean you don’t need to use the side bar thing and saves you additional hassle and money. Still used the dynamic plastic side skirts though. Hope that helps. Sam
@@SLRebuilt Cheers Sam, that is exactly what I wanted to hear. The bars are a nightmare to source, even worse than trying to find a decent set of dynamic door mouldings 😂 I will follow your lead, get the dynamic skirts and then add an aftermarket Pure set of side steps, gloss black of course 😉 Nice one Sam, +1 sub, all the best 👍
Great series . Get the carplay installed the infotainment in the car is rubbish . I have a video on my channel explaining advantages and Brief install procedure
@@SLRebuilt let me know if you have any questions . Also these cars ridiculously easy to Nick. I would suggest putting in a ampire canbus firewall . I have a video on how to install I did for my cousin they aren’t much. But adds additional layer of security . I didn’t make public, but if you interested let me know . Will find a away of sending you link
