Also Don't forget to thank also the Green Party for this opportunity. Lot of the times greens have been painted as the opposite for the economy for some reason.
As a trucker/ operator Ive been voting green since I could they are trying to help the people and the environment and not just going after one or the other
I feel like Sonia Furstenau and the Edison/Deboss team just earned the Greens all across Canada a little more attention from car and truck enthusiasts that might never have glanced in their direction.
I hope that the press in the United States picks up on this story. I live in Florida and I am looking forward to the kits becoming available so that my F-350 can become a hybrid. I support Edison Motors 100% and I hope that your work is recorded in the history books. This is the first sensible solution to marrying old and new tech for the betterment of the environment without burdening vehicle owners with an unsustainable and costly switch to full electric vehicles. Thank you Edison Motors and also a thank you to Deboss Garage as well.
I’m writing a letter to my Provincial government here in Manitoba. This is perfect for the short trips too the field and power to run tools. Grain trucks as well, short trips.
@@bobsch-gd6ze I knew fellow who was a young engineer that did some work on the Avro Arrow, one of his best memories was being able to sit in the cockpit for a minute when it was being developed. That was a tragedy of epic proportions when it was scrapped for political reasons.
Thanks Chace and Rich for showing us how your form of democracy works. We have just had an election called here in UK. Now let's see if we can make some changes here, that might make things better for us and the world. By beginning to make democracy do what it should... WORK;.
Congratulations to Edison Motors and every retrofit company likely to benefit from the proposed legislative changes. By using a generator type hybrid system, Edison is perfectly positioned to transition to full BEV when/if battery chemistry achieves high enough energy density to be practical. Electric axles don't care if the power comes from a battery, hydrogen fuel cell, or ICE generator.
This video is so refreshing and common sensical. Unfortunately such a program wouldn't get unanimous approval here in the States. The Republicans would table such legislation just to deny the Democrats a win. Americans like to boast that the US is the greatest country in the world, but with such division, not so much. This Memorial Day I watched a Sunday Morning program that is saving the stories of WWII veterans. One of the men interviewed said the country was united in the war effort then, but observes that we will never be so motivated ever again. I'm proud to be an American but I wish our politicians could get their poop in a group. I wish all success to Edison Motors, They are helping to save the planet.
Keep up the good work guys! The one thing I’d say that people are most over looking is the biggest cost in any vehicles carbon foot print is production. If you can not only make 3-4 year old miled out vehicles more efficient, but stop the production of another brand new vehicle the offset is massive!
Reduce reuse recycle ♻️ this is the way of getting where we need to be. Give the exsiting vehicles a second or third chance of life on the road. Keep up the good work guys looking forward to more great things.
This is historic one hell of a home run congratulations to all of you young men for taking the stance no one wants to take out of fear because big companies making all the rules no one wants that take strength in spades men, I see men not one boy there my hat is off to you if only you see me!
To all of you who are involved in this project, sincere thanks from the socked in south Okanagan. It's great to see this innovation being produced a couple valley's west of us. Well done all, looking forward to watching great things happen.
So wonderful to see the support from within the Canadian government. The is a huge first step! 👏 Here in the US I doubt there would be this kind of support. Our politicians are bought and paid for by their corporate sponsors. There is no incentive to do things that help everyday working class people. I love seeing yalls content. THIS IS is a sensible solution to help making a real impact on global emissions. Kudos and keep it up. 👏 👏 👏
Congratulations, guys.🤞it gets passed. But with all that support I don't see it being a problem. Keep up the good work. I cant wait for the day i can do a retro fit on my chevy express 2500 van
Love your comments at the end about you not wanting to harm yourselves. You guys think like me. I received my stickers for my retrofit reservation. Thank you.
It is so awesome and inspiring to see you guys get a huge win! Congratulations, well deserved. Keep fighting the good fight! Thank you for sharing this with us all.
THIS. Plus solving problems as opposed to simply getting rich. Let's hope Chace NEVER turns into THAT GUY. You know who I mean, the one whose ego is SOOOO BIG. How big? well he demands $55 billion. NOBODY is worth $55 billion.
I worked in the banking industry in Northern BC and Yukon and when I first saw your technology I said this is a common sense and affordable alternative to pure electric trucks. Congrats Chase and the team for this awesome step forward. You also are saving the RV industry with a towable alternative. Well done.
Real solution solver Edison/DeBoss. The extreme weather in Canada needs some real solution, not the same as blue zone weather. Hope you get the grant without greasing the 20%.
Hey Chase, it looked like you were going to cry or have a break down while DeBos was talking. LOL You did have a very important point. The cost to replace the drive train instead of replace the whole truck. Less than half price. I think that was a very big deal. Convert to electric, have a reliable vehicle, AND save a big chunk of money. Wins all around. Richard was talking about everything that was getting replaced, he should mention all of the stuff not getting swapped out, and how much that will save the customer. You want the customer to know he's getting a like new vehicle, but that cost savings is a big deal. Especially for the politicians.
I was shocked to see how little it takes for an ev to get marked as totalled. Rivian have a few spuds underneath the battery box and insurance just pays out and says it's totalled. 50 usd could have fixed that. So it's nice that you do what you do.
There is also Hyundai quoting people $56,000 CAD for a battery replacement on the Ioniq after relatively minor damage on the underside of the battery. Disassembly and inspection, replacement of damaged components, should cost no more than a typical engine rebuild!
As a br***sh co*****an I'm cheering for you guys. Your efforts are going to be rewarded. I watch all your stuff and am hoping to do a retrofit with my son eventually here. Cheers, -from westbank.
Looking forward to seeing the subsidies for these kits available across the country, still deciding on a truck to get swapped for industrial work in Ontario
They can electrify a truck and save both the carbon generation of making a new one and the carbon of running a motor all day long in an inefficient manner. A simple solution that does not require a new cycle of carbon intensive smelting of new metals and refining of new plastics, and has the ability to charge itself at a remote location is an appropriate technology for the region.
It was my understanding that as it stands, assuming "Carl" is Phase I, "Topsy" is Phase II, Phase III is the kit/new build for serial production of Class 7-9 Trucks; Phase IV is the step down to conversion kits for Class 4-6 Trucks (aka F450 - F650); with a Phase V of eventually the Class 1-3 Trucks (aka F150-F350 and Jeeps, or large sedans). Phase III seems to be currently at the point of taking orders with deliveries starting once the rigorous testing has been done - they're at the stage of quality control. So Topsy is being used to test if the commercial harness and loom works, in place of the extremely bespoke set-up they made by hand. Phase IV has been delegated to Deboss Garage (their main "installation" partners) to help with the scaling down to the smaller vehicle classes, and to exploit the second enormous market. Phase V is not expected until 2028, or likely 2030.
It's just Common Sense. Great video....this is the kind of content, along with the building videos is why I subscribed to the channel. BTW. When are the Edison Retro fit project Truck videos coming to YT?
No discredit to any of the guys, but seeing a group of good ole boys pull up into the Canadian Govt to shake things up is some stick it to the man spirit i like.
Would love to see #California and #USA do the same on the legislative incentives!!! Additionally, Chase and guys please come to the states and talk to our Government! PLEASE!!
What the hell, why did I get unsubscribed from your channel? I heard about things like that but always thought it was a myth. So glad you guys are keeping up the great work
Great work chase it's all happening , you are a super star , making things happen , your name will be long set in history 100 years from now , all the best with it mate
Well done. Rome wasn't built in a day and you guys just keep on building. I thought it was telling that Rich is so used to playing to an American audience that he said he was from Ontario, CANADA! I think if he spends enough time in BC he'll find that most British Columbians are well aware that Ontario is part of Canada (even if they don't subscribe to the "Ontario-centric theory of the universe." )
