Wow I had no idea that the original Gameboys came in other colours besides gray. The only ones I have seen were the gray ones. That black one looked pretty awesome!

I would love to see an xbox/ps2/xbox 360/ps3 getting repaired, I loved your xbox 360 RROD repair and PS3 YLOD repair ;) More of those would be awesome.
With the direction things have taken considering countless DLCs, releasing unfinished games, have to pay for online services it makes me miss the good old days when you tossed a game in and had fun. I don't have anywhere near the collection you do but I do have most of the older systems I grew up on starting with intellivision and Atari Great channel I enjoying seeing all of the different systems
You can still have fun You just need to hook up your old systems again :P . I agree the way things have gone with DLC etc has killed the old gaming magic a bit. Thanks for watching.

Maybe. Some solder pads are missing, and learnt about surface mounted boards the hard way. Just gathering the courage to try patching onto the traces, but my skills and kit are lacking. I get more confidence with every video I watch :)
Glad to see you're able to make some new videos! You got me into collecting more games and I enjoy seeing the new stuff you pick up. Let me know if you ever want to trade from someone in the US.
the psp go has always been my personal favourite handheld console just because of the size and I felt it was easier to game on and just liked the design and look of it. after that it would be the game boy colour that was just a beauty.

This makes me sad this guy is one my favorite youtubers and it's been almost year or already a year since he last did a vedio. The only reason I actually got into electronics and started fixing from consoles to phones and more. But I hope everything has been going good for him now
He had also inspired me to tinker with some electronics, every few months or so I go back and rewatch all his videos to keep my flow. He is one of my top 5 to watch.

i also am a hardware collector. i like putting use to consoles that have been forgotten and neglected by others. but i do limit myself to one of each model and colour. I've got one of each game boy color, except for the limited ones like the pokemon exclusive.
Its a worthy mod though, clicky buttons are superior, and the original GBA is a much more iconic and awesome design. Also as a side note, i just got ahold of two saturn region free BIOS chips and all the parts for a Dreamcast VGA mod. I've been wanting to do these since i found your channel years ago, now i'm finally getting around to it XD Thanks for inspiring me with your videos!

loved the box of goodies..and good too know your alive and well..would like too see you modding the original xbox or lift the lid on your bad boys you already have and maybe a walk thru of the process . i have a modded one and now its showing error code 21 ..i have looked at the forums on alot of sites and read till my eyes are blurry i just dont understand all the jargen..if you would be so kind too do a video man it would help this old boy out .thanks and happy new year lol

I've been wanting to try and do a backlight mod on my own original GBA as well and seeing how good it looks in this video just makes me want to do it even more. But since I'm currently in Tokyo and haven't gotten my own GBA around it will still be a while before I can get around and attempt it (been looking around over here for an SP 101 in advance, but haven't had the luck to find one, then again I haven't been looking around that much).

I wasn't too impressed with the forced google+ integration myself, but I suppose I've gotten used to it now. And to give credit to them, the notification bell at the top right is a good was of seeing if there are any replies to comments made. The GBA mod sounds interesting, swapping the screen over and changing out the trigger buttons. I remember a mate having that GBA movie cartridge, or at least a similar unit, must have been back in '02 or '03. That guy always was ahead of the curve, his imported DS was what convinced me to pick on up myself. I got a Japanese DS from a UK seller in January '05, a couple of months before the UK launch.
The problem with the bell thingy is it's very selective about what it wants to show me. It only alerts me to a very small fraction of any activity on my vids. It seems very random. If I want to stay on top of things then I manually have to go check each vid. Not an easy task when you have limited free time and you've uploaded a few hundred! :P The GBA screen kits are getting pretty common. Really easy to do as well. There's a few US sellers and at least 1 based in China that sell them. The US sellers were price gouging on the postage, though (had to try not to rant about that!). So it worked out cheaper to buy this slightly damaged pre-mod unit from a UK seller. Fitting some clicky buttons looks like it'll be easy enough. I'm planning on using the parts from that SKY+ box I found recently. Just need to remember where I put the bits! :)
You have some good old consoles, that's really cool. I do wonder if you play old DOS games like Doom, or Command & Conquer: Red Alert on some old DOS computers. If you do play some old games on old computers, I hope that one day you could some videos about it. If not then you should try it, old computers from the 1990's are really cheap..
I have two gba 001, and I suffer everyday :/ from the quality. I wished a had two 101 instead! Keep it up. Thanks for making videos. You make me want to go and spend all my money on games!!!
I see them appear on ebay quite often (I don't buy them all, honest :P). I just did a tips vid with some advice you might find helpful if you're looking to get one.
Wow I really want that first black GameBoy SP you pulled out of the blue case, I've always wanted one. But I understand it's part of your collection and I won't even bother asking if you would sell it. Beyond that like you said at the beginning RU-vid's Content ID BS has killed 80% of the RU-vidrs I watch, kinda sad when RU-vid has pretty much replaced broadcast TV for me.
It's a real shame what they've done to the site. I've noticed they also don't bother promoting anything except the really big channels nowadays. Smaller tubers have got little to no chance of building up an audience. I've had a secondary channel here since the middle of last year. In that time I've gained zero subs!

Ahhh, the old Nokia N-gage.. I was one of the suckers who bought this on release with Tom Raider. Game did play well but boy making calls was just ridiculous. Bought a Xperia Play and for emulators it was a decent little phone.
I collect Japanese games that either didn't see a release outside of Japan, or just games I want to know the localization differences in. And I buy a lot of "faulty" games that just turn out to be dead internal batteries. I bought a collection of the original Pocket Monsters games for $15, it came with the original 6 and they all just needed a battery replacement.
wow I remember when the google plus thing took over and ruined youtubes community aspect. I wonder how you feel now over a year later? I am happy your channel still exists its very inspiring to me as I love portable gaming even though I mainly use them to make music not play games but I also like to mod and tinker
I like the glacier original GBA very much! It is a solid and beaitiful thing and mine is mint! I only play it in summer I wonder why!! I would like to mod it some day like yours I don't like the SP as much.
I love your videos. I have a dingoo and love it but the shoulder buttons on it suck and I love the gameboy advance's design so I want to merge the two. Ive done some mods in the past nothing too complicated but I have soldering experience from this and school and whatnot so that is not an issue. Any tips or tricks you could give me before I embark? And anywhere you know of that sells just the gba shell or a like 3rd party shell with buttons not just a case? Any help is...helpful.
