Your videos are very knowledgeable, I like how your blunt and honest with your videos. I have 1 question I seen a lot of your builds , now I’m making a bar top myself I’m trying to find the right amount of space for the control panel. The arcade 1up is barely like 18-19 inches long for the control panel and the buttons are close as hell. So length wise would you say a 25-27 inch wide would give enough space for 2 adults to play on??? I’ve been looking on line and really can’t find much.. Any advice would be helpful thanks in advance and keep up the good work🤘🏼
I played Sonic and Mario 1 on a Pandora last week and NBA jam there must be a better one now I am very confused as to what to buy also I'd like to buy one already built is that even possible? What do we recommend as far as monitors if I did build my own also is there any way to build a golden tee aside from just buying a golden tee Machine cuz the old ones even are like 5 grand
This vid is dated so tike of filming it didn't have the games you mentioned. Now it's different. You can buy a pandora box on eBay and see my other video on how to move it to an arcade cab Golden tee can be emulated with a pc and trackball

That I cant really do as I personally use the pandora box bootlegs, / knockoffs Just ebay pandoras box you'll see them all Pandora box DX is the real pandora box by 3A I use pandora box 18s pro Pandoras pricing have gone up so now there about 175-250$
@@deadair801 control response isn't really based on the system, it's based on the actual joysticks and buttons. See my review on the pandora box dx and you can decode if the knockoff is good or not (Hint: I like the knockoffs over the dx)
Oh I'll have to get my hands on a PB, basically just gotta go into the config area and remove the hold down player 1 start to exit menu, then launch the game
I'm not to sure, this new pandoras vic version that came out has a different type of connection instead of a jamma connection. But I dont really know what makes it "family version" I haven't seen or used the newer pandoras box
@@Vic_VP ok so it looks like you need an actual arcade power supply for the Jamma version. And different video input. Also a different connection for the buttons (arcade) So the family is HDMI and a normal.power supply. I asked the vendor. Thanks!
Odd. My Pandoras box (Pandoras Key 3D 7) plays N64 games, and plays them better than my RPi 3 B+. I'm confused by the fact that you say Pandoras Box units won't play them.
I decided to do a pandoras box just to keep my first cabinet simple and learn but id like to to a second one with one of the new pi 4s once they get the programs to work better on them. Is it difficult setting up the pi? Im good with the basics but im far from a computer wizz.
For someone fairly new, how would someone purchase a raspberry pi with all the build in games and emulators? Aswell as a well built arcade stick controller? Awesome video by the way 👍
Vic_VP I know there is a way to add games, but I was after another USB stick I could buy with more /different games pre installed that I can just plug and play. Instead of trying to add to my existing USB with 1300 games. Plus I have a dual screen pandora 6 and is portable, which is why I decided on this. Thanks for the reply.
Eh that's a tough one, both and all systems are running "roms" In my opinion, for you to get perfect authentic graphics, you'll need the original PCB board. I never noticed a difference however with these new arcade1ups, a lot of people are complaining about pixelization.
@@Vic_VP thanks and yes I got the mk arcade1up and the pixel seem so off as with the gameplay, so I was thinking on moding and geting the better mk versions. I was thinking on raspberry. Thanks for your reply, im new to this.
@@xternal1 get ready for a fun yet challenging ride Haha. Remember these are emulators running these things... basically software pretending to be a actual console or system. Pi is always great for it's easy and simple setup not to mention being able to play 15k games in a tiny device
The 5s is a clone. The official 6 plays nba jam, mortal Kombat, outrun, and others. You have PS1 support, and Nes support through an emulator made for the PSX. Retropie definitely is more capable and plays more though.
Yes i did i did have pandora box6 it has ps1 games and Dba and u have the option that u can add games. But u can't compare pi3 to pandora box cause u can buy a old pc with 100$ and is gonna be over kill cause u can play ps2, dreamcast, and pc games Thanks for the video

Not totally agreeing on the 100$ desktop comment, I run 4gb ram i3 laptops and they cant really play ps2 emulators to its fullest extent, I can imagine a old desktop Haha. But again I'm not always right haha
Yes and no, current pandora boxes have some more games that a rasp pi cant handle, such as psp emulation which you can see in my newer upright vids. You can just buy a pandoras box control panel on eBay and plug and play to a tv
@@Vic_VP I'm running a Raspberry Pi at home (connected straight to TV) running Retropie and every mame-libreto game saves all scores. It's not dependant on a particular game. I don't remember doing anything to make this happen, it's always been the case. Granted it isn't Arpicade which is what you'd probably use for a cabinet project. On the other hand, I just started using a 3500-in-1 JAMMA board (I don't think it's Pandora - I think it's some generic Chinese jobbie) which came pre-installed in a pre-built factory cabinet with a horizontal LCD. And none of the high scores save. It also has very mixed results from game to game. One game will look identical to original hardware. While another might look a bit fuzzy. Another might have stretched graphics (e.g. Galaga stretched to be horizontal rather than staying vertical). And some games have some tearing. While there's still plenty of games that work well on it, I'm wondering if I replace it with a Arpicade solution. This two player cabinet came pre-installed with 6 buttons per player so it must have a kick harness already installed. I'm obviously in over my head with all this but I'm slowly doing the research.

The cabinet looks very nice by the way. Looks awesome and feels very well built. It's just the game board that lets it down a bit.
No such thing, a controller is easy to configure though. When you start your pi, have nothing in the usbs except your new controller. It should ask you to config the inputs at launch
Very true, but some people like knowing they have the option. Also I set mine up so n64 uses a controller such as a ps2 controller. Many customers send vids of 4 player mario kart action during the holidays haha
Hello, id like to mod a arcade1up machine with retropie, i understand everything i need to do as far as hardware install, im just not sure how to get a rasberrypi with retropie on it and all the games. where can i find/purchase this for the install? any guidance is greatly appreciated!
I'm thinking of getting a Pandora's Box, I was wondering if its possible to access the Dip Switches in the menus? To change amount of lives, difficulty, ect. Thanks
The pandorae box 3d I recently posted had options in pandoras box UI to adjust some of those settings.but I couldn't get into the actual games dip switches, such as enable blood mode in metal slug. Def check my recent vids. I did a vid on my new workbench and the cam over my shoulder

@@MPrint67 location? Best bet to save money is to buy the cabinet, send me the control panel part and the rest you would do on your own... a bartop when its complete is about 45lbs
Sorry I'm not understanding your question A pandoras box and rasp pi are 2 separate software's... you either have a pandoras box or a pi, your cant put a pi in a pandoras box
@@Vic_VP I think he might have meant installing the raspberry pi into the cabinet that has the Pandora box is what I have. So my question is, can it be done, take out the Pandora box unit and install the raspberry? I'm sure the wiringbwould need to be redone to controllers and buttons and such
@@Slyder695 yea it can be done, but you need to replace the entire wire setup. Pandoras boxes use jamma harness.. only thing that can be reuses is the ground wires. The rest will need to be replace
@@Vic_VP i actually have the pandora box 6 arcade in a full size cabinet. Can I swap that with the pandora dx? They both have the jamma. The dx will save high scores.
