Hey guys - just a bit of insight after I filmed this video. In general I LOVED these images. It would be hard for me to buy a lot more of the small batch line because with tax it’s over $40. I could buy two of the original line for just a bit more. I was lucky with no false fits this time around, but as I said in the video I had previously with other puzzles. I think we can safely say they are consistently inconsistent. Glad I didn’t have any issues with them this time around!
I sent an email to Cloudberries about the puzzle piece width. At the moment I do not own a digital caliper / micrometer. They wrote back and said the piece width is identical for both the "poster" and "small batch" puzzles. I think the paper used to print the image is thicker on the "small batch" puzzles and so when you initially view the pieces, the "poster" pieces look thicker, but in fact, they are not.
I’ve never had the opportunity to do a cloudberry puzzle but if I ever saw one in a thrift store I would pick it up. I like trying out different brands. FYI…. The color you are wearing looks great on you and really enjoy you critiquing different brands of puzzles. You are very talented if front of the camera and your editing is spot on. Enjoyed the music during the first puzzle. Many people will try and play background music while they are talking and if it’s even a bit too loud it’s hard to concentrate on what they are saying. You however have found a great balance. Another enjoyable video❤️👍🏻❤️
Great video 😁 I have done one of the Small Batch puzzles and I have to admit that I was rather disappointed by it 😔. I really like the box design and I love the images and that the pieces come in a paper bag (I hate the giant poster but as you showed that's a problem in all their puzzles). I have never really had any fit issues with their normal puzzles, but with the Small Batch puzzle, which they promise will have no false fits, I had a ton of false fits in the edge which was quite frustrating! And the fit is also really loose compared to their normal puzzles. I also think it's wrong of Cloudberries to say that the puzzle is random cut when the pieces are still very much in a grid. I would say that the pieces are just slightly wonky. I also noticed that the cut is actually completely mirrored down the middle. I don't really think that's necessarily a bad thing, just a little funny, and not what I would call random 😉. All in all I just don't understand why I should pay so much more for the Small Batch puzzles when they aren't better quality, perhaps even worse (the loose fit, and false fits), and I'm assuming they are made in China becourse it's cheeper, so it just doesn't add up for me 🤷. But I love the images, and it wasn't a bad puzzle, so if I find them on sale I will probably buy them, I just don't want to pay full price, then I will much rather buy their normal puzzles, which I think are (almost) perfect puzzles 😊
Yeah - the huge price difference doesn’t really add up when the quality isn’t better. I think for me it would depend on the artwork. If it was a puzzle from an artist that I follow, I’d have to LOVE the image. Luckily I did not have fit issues but yes to the crumbly pieces.
I have not been very impressed with Cloudberries quality. I had the same problem with many pieces still being connected, damaged, and peeling. I contacted them about it and it took over a month before the replacement pieces were sent. I probably wouldn’t buy from them again.
I own 40 cloudberries puzzles so yes I love them. I own the first 4 of their small batch line and I love them even more as they are random cut pieces. I am just waiting for the 4 new small batch puzzles, make it 5 as I’ve just seen their newest Easter one and it’s beautiful. I’ve never had a false fit. As for the poster, I wish all puzzle brands would make their posters the size of the finished puzzle, no bigger. Thanks for the video! 😊
Hi - I've done several Cloudberries original puzzles and enjoyed doing them. I had no false fits although some pieces were joined together. I haven't tried the new ones yet but would recommend the original ones.
I love Cloudberries puzzles, and I have a few of their originals. But truth be told, false fits are a reality, specially on their gradient ones. Not a big issue for me, but it can be frustrating at times. Having said that, I am waiting for a 5000 piece gradient puzzle!
